My experience with catching Lugia in Soul Silver:

-Has 50 Ultraballs along with an assortment of other pokeballs
-Gets Lugia to very low HP, no status afflictions
-Throws Ultra Ball; Fails
*10 minutes later*
-On last available pokemon, throws last Ultra Ball, Fails
-Lugia attacks, and puts pokemon's HP into the red zone; annoying sound effect starts
-Just for the hell of it, throws normal Pokeball for no reason

I think you can guess what happened next...

Beldum has been the most difficult for me to catch... in Platinum... with only Take Down and in Sandstorm weather... that thing kills itself generally before you catch it. But hey, I managed to get one after a while with my Duskballs

I would think the best strategy for a pokemon like Beldum would be to immediately throw a Quick ball, then if that fails attack it a few times until it's health is in the yellow zone, then just throw any kind of pokeball that would give you better catching rates.

I burnt it with Will-O-Wisp with a Ghost pokemon, and it worked.

I had trouble catching a Beldum, I don't remeber how I caught it, but I wasted so many pokeballs on those, and now I don't even use my Metagross.

Did you know that the catch rate of Beldum is on the same level as some legendaries?

Doesn't surprise me actually. It'd better not be the same as Zapdos or Kyurem though!

All three (along with some other legendaries) has the same catch rates

Which also happen to be the lowest in the game

Lql Yeah, I would imagine it's hard to catch since it's catch rate is 3, and it'll kill itself after a few take downs x) I've never caught a Beldum, only Metang ._.

Before Platinum, it was only though Steven's gift, so I haven't noticed its catch rate xD

Number of F-Bombs dropped during catching process: 1,006
Number of Quick Balls it takes after a few hours and you see grass rustling then a wild Metagross appears to catch it: 1
Number of rage quit thoughts after the capture: 111111111111111111111111111111111
Number of F-Bombs dropped when you realize it has the worst nature possible: take previous number and square it.
