Moves like shadow punch or something arent all that strong, and i dont think dusknoir would be good for mixed battles. Doesnt it have low defenses or something too?

To clarify: Dusknoir is one of the best defensive ghosts in the game. Both of his defensive stats are on par with Groudon and Kyogre, just as an example; they both sit at 135 Base. The only thing that he suffers from is low HP. Something that is easily taken care of with Substitute and Pain Split.
He also makes an amazing attacker. I've personally used most of his sets and can attest to their effectiveness.
Back on topic, Dusknoir is a ghostly cyclops. A Japanese one-eyed mountain-dwelling creature named the Yamawarawa may have been what inspired him.
