charmander gen one, a definite challenge to start with, you had to level it up heaps, catch a caterpie level that up heaps til it is a butterfree with grass type moves (absorb), or somehow manage to get your hands on a grass or water type just to have a chance at the first gym.

squirtle gen one, level up til water gun, challenge gym, win.

now i liked the challenge, and it had me better prepared for misty.

gen three, IT LEARNS METAL CLAW, how awesome is that, but you are still at a disadvantage with misty, still a challenge.

Yes, but after doing some experimenting in Pokemon Lab, I figured out that Harry Potter ultimately fails.
