When i heard about this mmo i thought yes finally but then....
baralai15:
honestly, i quite prefer the 2-d sprites over any 3-d game. That may just be me though.

It's case-by-case for me. Honestly, the two major factors that made me quit runescape after one hour were:
A) The ghastly hostility the community has towards eachother.
B) The Sonic-CD quality 3-D.
If you just made it 3-D and it just looks like the first 3-D video game ever, it's going to be lame. However, console games made within the past five years have done remarkably good jobs at developing 3-D. Can you imagine Metal Gear 4 in sprite form? Or call of duty in 2-D?
S:
I think it would suck a bit if It was in 3D. For me it's will be more nostalgic and fun in 2D. Help me feel young again!
And to FrenchFry, same reasons I left. I don't even know why I ever started playing that game. I think it was the freedom to level grind as much as I wanted with no backlash.
Sora:
Pokemon are classicall to be in 2D, I just can't imagine the usuall way of gameing in 3D, allso, it would be really hard to make for a team of voulenteers...
If you want it 3D, as ghost said, do it yourself. It's this simple.
Baka:
Donate 3 000 000 euro (Even this will be little), and we'll make a 3D pokemon game.
That includes
- license costs (if we're lucky)
- A team of experienced 3D designers
- More, and EXPERIENCED programmers
- Advertisement, and marketing (includes having to employ a whole financial department)
- Rent costs for an office in Tokyo, in order to have the ability to fully co-operate with Nintendo.
- The will to spend 3-4 years on making a 3D mmo with the thought in mind, that it won't be halfway shutdown by Nintendo due to not having license for the Pokemon trademark.
If you want 3D pokemon, go buy Pokepark Wii or something.
