I feel compelled to speak because, it seems, like half of Gen V is now bugs. And not just any bugs! But like bug / steel. (I seriously saw like 10 different ones, including evos and prevos.)
But Bugs are definitely getting a boost in Gen V. There are a lot of good looking ones I'm willing to use and try out.

I notice a lot of bug/steel type combonations too. And that one that has like, a 570 base stat total. I don't think it was a legendary, either.

Given the choice, i would prefer to use a all fire type:
Charizard
Arcanine
Rapidash
Magmortar
Ninetails
Typhlosion
If not fire, i'll normally go with water or flying types.
Flying:
Dragonite
Skarmory
Pidgeot
Ninjask
Gryados (thats still water/flying right?)
Scyther
Water:
Empoleon
Gyrados
Whailord
Lanturn
Feraligater
Tentacruel

How many people do you intend to be in this group? A good amount of people are interested, and this group could end up with like twenty trainers, if not more. lol we have three fire type trainers, I wonder how many we'll end up with. Fire types are awesome 8)
