Change to:

Renegade saw the gun that Rex had picked and burst in laughter, saying "Rex, you possibly picked the worst gun in the armory!"

And I noticed that you used the same expression "burst out laughing" that FrenchFry used some posts earlier. It doesn't hurt reformulating an expression and makes reading less repetitive.
