Pokemon MMO's being shutdown

(1/4) > >>

Shilo:
One day i was searching Pokemon MMO's cause i was looking for a certain one and i had found that a lot of online Pokemon games had been shut down (including the one i was searching for) by Nintendos legal rep. Miller Nash and i was wondering if any one can shed some light on the subject cause as far I know none of them ever broke copyright laws (I've at one point in time played them.) is it just Nintendo being an (pardon my language) a-hole or what?

Baka:
Simple.
Nintendo owns the rights to:
- All Pokémon related material including Name, Graphics and Code (that is made by them)
- Distribute this content as they themselves please
- Claim copyright against people who rip their work, and use it to make an mmo.

Roko:
A) Had a heart-attack when I saw the name of this thread. Damn you.

B) Baka... hate to be a woman, but if they own the rights to the names, then what does that include? All Pokémon names, or character names like Professor Oak etc.?

EDIT: Love how (female-dog) has been filtered to 'woman'. This makes the word an insult.

Desbear:
