My PU Pixel Art
Monzta:
Look. This isn't pixel art. You're zooming in, drawing some random poop and colouring them horribly. First, learn how to draw. (Preferably Gay Treeckoes) Then maybe you could try splices.
Then go on to proffesional spriting.
Mr Pokemon:
Definitely try to do some recolors and splicing. It helped me to learn about the colors a lot, and you sometimes have to use pixel art to change things that won't fit. Recolors are actually harder and more time consuming than fusions. Here, I'll show you step by step how to do a recolor. I'll do Dewott, which is pretty simple.
First, start with the original Pokemon sprite:
Then, select the color you want to use, and find a shade of that color you want to use. Every Pokemon will have sections that are the same shade of its color. You want to fill these in with matching shades of the new color. To change the shade of your color, simply increase or decrease the lum by 20 or 30. (Increase to make brighter, decrease for darker) Here:
Now, there are still blue edges. For those, you will want to make darker shades of the new color to fill them in. If they don't look like they fit, change them. Recoloring and splicing takes practice, you may not get it right on the first try, but don't worry. Keep trying till you get it right! Final product:
The last step is to show us so we can help you become better
Monzta:
Mr Pokemon and I do requests for people for just about anything related to sprite editing. A more advanced recolour would look like this or
Which you can practice after you master basics.
Mr. Fox:
that is so freaking cool!
Monzta:
Yea, you get the hang of it after mastering glowies.
(Yes, you need to master alot of things.)
