I'll wait for as long as it takes. Waiting for this game isn't an activity that can't be combined with other activities; if I went away for a year the game making progress wouldn't cease because I did.

Anyway, I don't think Nintendo is going to make an MMORPG. That would require of them to wait longer between publishing series, since it would be more important to the players to know every Pokémon as well as possible, and a too high pressure of new Pokémon would make many lose interest. Such reads my hypothesis.

(Related to the pressure; whoever thought of making those alien-like evolutions of Magmar, Tangela and Electabuzz need to be slaughtered brutally in public. Rationally speaking.)

I honestly think it's going to take a long time for GAMEFREAK and the Pokemon Company to make a Pokemon MMORPG, if they even decide to make one. A Fifth Generation is in the works which means that's another 3 games within 2-3 years. Of course they're going to try to milk money out of the fans as much as possible, but I don't think they realize that a lot of fans want one game with all the regions and be able to catch all the Pokemon without any Nintendo Events. Almost everyone I talk to wants that, instead of getting an MMORPG, we're getting more Pokemon. Even if they did release an MMORPG, it's obviously going to be a subscription thing like Final Fantasy or World of Warcraft. This MMORPG is going to be free. I don't care if their MMO is official crap, I'd rather play something that's free, than something I have to pay for every month. So any way you look at it, I don't think this MMORPG is in any danger of being obsolete before it's completed, or even after it's completed for that matter.
