You shouldn't keep asking just becuase it's non-profit. It's being made with their free time. And it'll suck for you if you get banned for asking before you can even play. Also they don't even know when it will be done.

I'm not sure I understand your logic. You're saying we should keep asking them because it's a free game and because they don't make any profit off of this game? I don't really see how that fits together.

As has been said before, the game is worked on in their spare time because they don't get paid to do this. You have to expect delays or even cancelations due to personal issues, not keep asking them about it. Because, trust me, it gets annoying being asked about 5 times every day, "Where can I play teh gaem?" or "When is the beta coming out?". I'm not the one who has to deal with that sort of thing, but I know it happens. We've had people (correct me if I'm wrong) get banned the day they register because they don't read the front page and leave the staff be. If people could just wait, we wouldn't have this issue.

All I'm saying is just let them do their work, it'll be done when it's done, and there's no point in asking because you'll get the same answer every time.

A little tip until anything comes out:
Stay on the site/forum, meet people, make friends, have fun... Most of us are here for the community now, not the game... Of course we're here for the game too, but... not that much anymore

In other words. Shut up about the game, you ask about it, you get banned, simple as that. The devs don't like to be bothered about it, and do not have any obligation to do so since they don't get any money for this. If you want it done so bad, buy the pokemon company, gamefreak, and nintendo, and pay the devs. Since none of us can't, be patient, and quit asking.
