Jerry, the starters shouldn't be found in the wild. The starters should be special and not catchable. A good idea is to fight them but not to catch them. Thats the magic from the starters. They are strong, uncatchable and it evolves hard. If you can catch them, you should give us a weedle as starter. Dont destoy the starter poke magic.  ;D

I'm not the one to decide, but I agree with the current system. And I don't think it should be changed.

After all, starters are catchable in the show and they are not always stronger than other catchable pokemon.
