VOCALOID

<< < (7/9) > >>

Tickles:
Yes, you raved about this yesterday to me rob. I see it being used for a lot of pranks as well. Imagine making a clone of yourself that disapears or disguising yourself to look like someone, or something else. rob even said, the technology is there. Plus, vocaloid seems to have become the base to really test this in the public (Japan) since the characters in vocaloid are recognizable.

Darkstar64:
Rob is right, this technology can be used for anything. It'd be really cool to see stuff like that!

But Cortex brings up a good point, it also has serious consequences if used the wrong way.

So far, the "tests" as Cortex puts it have been going well, even in the U.S, which has vary little knowledge of what is going on has had those sold out concerts. Things like 3D Tv's and 3ds's are becoming popular here as well, so it would naturally be assumed that this could lead to Holographic television and game play.

As far as "bad uses", This is just the commercialized stuff, I am sure that military applications are already in the works. There is a good and bad side to everything

Nuclear power-Nuclear bomb
Surgical lazer- Lazer weapons
Fireworks - missiles
television - subliminal messaging

While I don't know about the "disguise yourself with a hologram" bit, I know that they have been advancing the technology for several years now, I would not be surprised in the least if we go full Startreck in the next decade.

My only concern is that for the first time in a long time, America is the one that's behind the eight ball, Japan is at least a decade ahead of us technologically speaking, and they are only developing faster.

NexosYourGayBestFriend96:
I'd love to see the yu-gi-oh game being like the game on the TV, but about consenquences...

Robots+Voice Synthesiser+Lazers+Artificial Intellegence= Terminator dude. Terminator.

Mr. Fox:
Ever heard of the three laws of robotics?

1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws.
