Which is better, gold & silver, diamond & pearl or black & white?

Jerry:
What made me choose Platinum is the whole new features available and new useful items competitive wise and the new touch screen features. Well, of course there is Diamond/Pearl, but Platinum is just the notch above that. And add that to WiFi options, wireless battling/trading without any other gadget to buy separately, it will remain the best for me.

HG/SS come closer behind because it's simply the remake of GSC, with a whole new way to interact with your pokemon and items, and the new features of Safari Zone, the greater range of available starters, though not reaching to Platinum because of the lack of better ideas since then.

Also, Emerald forever better than Ruby or Sapphire ;)

The traditional Gold and Silver was cool, but the newer games beat it at graphics, and features. I think of Gold/Silver to actually not be that long, since the league itself was in the 40-50 and remained like that. Kanto after the league didn't take much time; there were less trainers, you already had powerful pokemon and the area was mostly cleared of Team Rocket from a certain Red.

Just my own ideas :)

Hmm...
I'm still pretty undecided, ruby and saphire are remakes of red and blue aren't they, is the story and layout basically the same? and are they available on DS?
TBH I might just get White because I do like the looks of Zekrom, if I do get heavily into the whole pokemon scene again I'll probably buy the rest.  Also, is there a game that combines all pokemon and regions etc, like PU or is it just PU so far?

Cheers.

Jerry:
No no, Ruby and Sapphire are completely different. And no they are not available on DS.

And no, there is no game like that, NOR PU since PU will be a whole new region.

As from Black and White though, the pokedex records all the existing pokemon up to now (so will PU encompass).

Hell no are Ruby/Sapphire remakes of red/blue. They are completely separate games. And its a GBA game so you can only play it on an old DS or an older model. But even better you dont need to buy it, google a pokemon Ruby emulator and you can play it for free on your computer.

But honestly if you're into pokemon just get them all. Its worth it. Get one from each generation to get a feel of them all. And no there isnt a game that combines all the regions, the closest is HG/SS that has Kanto and Johto.

EDIT: Haha looks like Jerry posted right before me and covered most of it.

CptMugwash:
Oh yeah I remember ruby and saphire, anyways thanks for the replies guys, I'm going to get White and see how I feel, thanks for the advice on those emulators, I'll give it a go.  Thanks very much!  :)
