Okay, I guess that's it for now since it's approved, I'll try to act as nervous and stuttery as I can, but I'll probably make a few mistakes, I've never dealt with this kind of character.

Well, it makes sense with his backstory. His dad came up with the name, seeing as he was the only parent who was alive after his birth, with the intent to give him the living shadow in the first place.

Yep, completly intentional, and darkstar is correct. His father was an insane necromancer and gave his son a dark power, using himself and his wife as a sacrifice for the magic. It was a miracle he survived in the first place.
