Roloc:
When you say start with absol do you mean that you want to lead with it?
If you do then I really don't recomend leading with it, its more of a come in on something it can force out kinda pokemon.

Anyway, yeah there are plenty of pokemon that can go well with absol.

Gengar - Immunity to Fighitng and 4x resistant to bug attacks. There are many builds for gengar and it does welll with most of them, just get in there and find one that best suits your play style and team composition.

Chandelure - Immunity to Fighting and 4x resistant to bug attacks + stab fire to kill said bug pokemon. Chandelure is a great pokemon because it has 3 immunities. Fire, Normal and Fighting. There is 2 builds that work okay with Chandelure, a bulky special def tank or the choice scarf sweeper.

Basically any fairy, ghost or flying type pokemon will be great to pair with absol as both types resist all of absols weaknesses. Flying of course has stab SE hit on both of absol weaknesses as well so thats something to think about.

When pairing a poke with another poke is important to know what your trying to do. When your leading with a dark type and want to have something to soak a SE hit for it then you can't very well have the pokemon you want to bring in be all frail and stuff unless it is immune to the attack that your predicting.

Like say if you were going to lead with Machamp and there's a flying type that's about to use Bravebird on it then you can't have Electrode as your safety net for Machamp. Electrode would take a ton of damage from a stab bravebird even though it's resisted.

What I'm trying to say if you want to pick something that can either take the hit and dish it back out or either something that completely immune like Gengar would be immune to fighting and 4x resist bug attacks.

Hopefully this helps ya.

TrainerX:
Sorry, I should have been more clear. I don't intend to use Absol as a lead, I just want to use it as a starting point for my team, and build around it.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll take a look at these and decide what to use.

Roloc:
No problem. I look forward to seeing your team. Feel free to post it here and I can do a quick overview of it like I have done in the previous posts. I quote it and write down suggestions in red. You can look in prevous guild thread posts and you may see a few.

So, Blades and I were talking on the balance server about a team with Spikes, T-Spikes, Sticky Web and either damaging weather(SS or Hail). A mono bug team would be able to pull this off but I think I'd rather make it a mixed team. Wish me luck! Should be fun.
