Mortecai and Houndour finished their meals, both grinning widely.

Delicious. Haven't had a meal like that since I lived with my parents.

Glad you enjoyed it.

Mortecai attempted to stand up. The bruise on his leg was throbbing a bit, but it wasn't too bad. He promptly returned Houndour and took a long stretch.

Well, I'm ready to head to the lab.

Alright then.

The two went outside and walked the short route to the lab, walking past the spot where Robert attacked him just a few moments ago. They reached the door.

You should have no problem from here on out. I'm sure Prof. Oak will be glad to meet someone new.

Mortecai opened up the door and went in to see a large array of fantastic machines, a pokemon filled garden, and an elderly looking person working on something at a table.

Prof. Oak?

Mortecai thought about pulling out the pokedex, but instead decided to go with his crazy question.

You may not believe this, but I'm from a world where this is all a video game, and somehow I ended up here. I found this Houndour, who I'm sure has a trainer somewhere, and I want to try and find them before I try to get back to my own world.

Mortecai pulled out Houndour's ball and held it out for oak to grab.

Do you remember any trainer that had him when you handed them a pokedex?

That's the problem. I don't know how. I lost my first battle today, though I wouldn't call it that. It was more of an ambush.

Mortecai decided to bring up the pokedex, and pulled it out of his pocket.

This also broke in that. The trainer's Manky knocked me on my side, and it got crushed. I don't think I can be a proper trainer without this.

He placed Houndour's ball back on his belt.

Tickles:
Mortecai took the pokedex. It looked like an older model from the one he had before, but he still like it. It activated.

Oh, wow, it talks like the other one. Let's see...

This whole time, he was the trainer. He was both shocked, and excited. He had his own pokemon, he was away from an oppressive government, and he got a chance to do something other than work in an office.

I don't even know where to begin. What do you suggest Prof. Oak? I know you're the right person to ask.
