Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire!

Ursaring:
Well salamence and blazekin are both very popular pokemon ,so a mega only makes sense for them.

What I really want to know is why slowbro, altaria, audino, kanga, medicham, and abomosnow all got megas? These pokes are not super popular ,and none of them have really made waves in the competitive scene. Some that I listed make more sense than others ,but look at audino for example. Nothing is very unique about her ,and we have many pink cleric style pokemon already. So why a mega? Weavile, flygon, dragonite, arcanine, and many others are extremely popular so you would expect them to get megas. The way the new megas get chosen is such a mystery to me.

Yume Tsuki:
I think it's because Audino is known as an EXP. grinder... Some attempt at making Audino grinding a bit more interesting I guess. The usual harmless pokémon you'll fight that just happens to give a poopload of exp. But even so, mega stones should be rare, so do we get ONE person holding a mega Audino that you can fight multiple times?

Roloc:
Yeah, I don't really see them having any sort of system for choosing megas. I think they seriously just choose pokemon at random and make megas for them.

If not that then they choose a select few from popular pokemon and the rest is chosen randomly. Like them doing starters, they are prolly going to have a mega for every starter, and are most likely moving down the popular list of pokemon and giving them megas as well. As for the rest such as audino, they are most likely just choosing random pokemon.

Jerry:
They might be going for employee favourites too. It's not uncommon to see some particular pokemon liked by some people without being related to how strong they are.

BlazingNinetails:
Why not give Pikachu a mega form then?
Pikachu is pretty much the most popular of all.
