all honesty i love when a new pokemon game comes with a new region and new pokemon and everything is a surprise, i dont look up any new pokemon information and i just go through the whole game catching what pleases my eye

DUDE, that is what I miss about my childhood pokemon times. When me and I brother baught our second pokemon game: Silver. We had no idea what it had in store for us, and we explored, not knowing a thing about any pokemon. IT was so awesome. Miss that, now I am farmiliar with mostly all pokemon lol

I know exactly what you mean. When my Cyndaquil evolved at lvl 14 I was so pumped.
Mr Pokemon:
I like going through and finding new Pokemon in a new region, much like Amphy. That adds a sense of surprise and also excitement. I also like using serebii to sort of cheat once I know all the Pokemon. :P

I love how the storyline is long enough that you get a good amount of gameplay from it, and there was still the Battle Tower/Frontier afterwards.
