That explosion killed you. Why? Because immortality is not invincibility.
Immortality is the immunity to natural aging. Meaning, you can't die from old age, or say, heart failure. It DOES NOT, however, save you from a massive rending of your skull caused by fire and shrapnel. That'll still kill you.
