Yes, I'm putting /server irc.rizon.net [6667] as suggested by florence, but to no avail...
EDIT: I finally got in the IRC. This time, I didn't put the [6667]. The program automatically found the port number.

Here is a screenshot of X-Chat. Check it against what you have and make sure all the settings are correct. If so, it should connect.

Yes the port number is optional.

you should have in mind that now is 1 am here in european time zone, try from 6-10 pm ;)
