eh lots of trial and error lol but ther is a guide on pokecommunity somewhere

i started with just editing d/p overworld sprites if that helps

firetools:
always use paint, and a guide is in the butterfly cave. forgot the other name. she probally made the maps with tiled, and made a custom tile set for the building
