Piplup, as an Empoleon it's resistable to allmost any type, and to many type combinations others aren't. I allso can't help it, but to thik, that Piplup is soo cute ^^

I realized that most people chose fire starters. I think grass types are the least popular based on the poll...

My favorite starter has always been cyndaquil >.<

I'm not copying you, if that's what you mean. I just like Swampert. I have all the starters that I like in the games, and I decided I like Swampert most, and I agree with Chad, It would be even better now. plus there's more fire type starters that were voted for.
I see getting wise with me now! Jking. But yea swampert can be a great choice. Mostly everyone has fire types. For the grass type user's you can just Ice beam em.

That's why sceptile is pretty cool. He's faster than all water types without swift swim.

out of the available choices of starter pokemon I think im going to choose mudkip

But if I'm entirely honest I would really have liked to start a pokemon journey with a snover, despite the drawbacks of facing the fire type, snover is awesome ;)
