Yeh I always thought Pikachu was useless and annoying. At least Ash's Pikachu. But Raichu is awesome, it'd be great if Ash evolved Pikachu into a Raichu. It would never happen tho xD

Magikarp is so odd. Why would they make a move that does absolutely nothing? Splash. When I was a little kid I would try to do everything to make Splash have an affect (battle in water, give it odd items..).
I wasn't too bright, I guess xD But hey I was like 7.

Ok so ther are some pokemon that are annoying because they show up too much(zubat and tentacruel)and there are some very weird looking ones, but I think that the designers were trying to make more realistic pokemon that are similar to existing animals. Many people complain that pokemon such as Pachirisu and Pikachu are too similar but in reality how much more different is a real squirrel from a mouse? They're both rodents...Its the different species of animals that look similar and thats why certain pokemon look similar. They're not all just cheap knockoffs!
As for pokemon that look nothing like the original or really distorted, I think the designers were only trying to create new pokemon to satisfy the complaints of you people that say newer pokemon are too boring and similar. At the very least, know that the designers are thinking in your best interest.
