Quests & Plots / Vitto! The Pokemon Godfather
« on: June 11, 2010, 03:02:36 PM »
This is a quest for experienced players and would be located in a small rural town. It would be outside of the hardest gym town. Immediately you notice the town is not normal. There is no gym, there are small rural farms, with a mart that sells berries only and maybe milktank milk. What draws your attention is two huge buildings. One is a police station and the other is a large mansion. You cannot enter the mansion because two men in black block your path. If you enter the police station a grey bearded man will bump into you.
He will tell you that this small rural town is being over run by a family of racketeers and  smugglers. You are needed right away and the man drags you into a room. He tells you he would like you to help him break the town free from the Mob.
Here you can choose to accept or decline the quest and the policeman will wait here for you until you accept.
If you accept you will be shown upstairs the head quarters. Here there is two rooms. One is a training room with three police officers with some strong Pokémon you can continually use to train with. Next is the briefing room, you can come back here after each mini quest. Note they will remain here until you complete the quest meaning you can pick this quest up whenever you choose.
Your first task is to deliver some recorded phone calls to the detective on the edge of town. He has been undercover so they cannot have a uniformed officer drop of the tapes. You take the tapes and give them to the Detective (PI Sprite). You then return to the police station and they tell you to train more as their isn’t any tasks at the moment. You can go away for a while but an hour of your play time since you are sent away you get a phone call from the detective.
He asks you to help him break into the mansion to steal some files detailing the illegal finances of imitation milktank milk they are importing. You meet him in the cover of darkness at the back of the mansion. You enter the mansion and have to use stealth, waiting in corners were the detective tells you whilst guard walks past. Eventually you get to a guarded room. You and the detective enter a double battle with the guards. After you beat them you enter the room. The Detective is investigating the file cabinets when a suited man and two men in black walk in. The two men drag away the detective and the suited man, named Vitto, says something along the lines of “I’m gonna make you an offer you cant refuse”.

You begin to work for the Don. After each task you complete the don gives you substantial money. The first task is to deliver some money to a gangster outside of town. You get say 1,000 for this task. You are then asked to deliver a letter to the Dons son in a hideout on the outskirts of town. You complete this task and get 2,000 and the Dons trust. You then are asked to to battle a local farmers son, a powerful trainer who is causing trouble. You go down stairs in the mansion to see a trainer surrounded by three black clothed men. You battle him with a few regular Pokémon and a strong milktank. After beating him you are asked to protect a shipment of milk at a fueling station. As it is re fueling the detective appears. You apologies but defeat him and his evee. You keep getting larger instalments of money after each task. Finally you are asked enter the home of the police captain and defeat him in a Pokémon battle. You travel to the captain's house and the captain manages to remind you of your morals and convince you to help him. The two of you storm the mansion. Beating the two guards at the door and two more sets of guards before you reach Vitto.
Vitto is disappointed in you but realizes his time was up. He gives you a letter before you battle. He has a strong team including a Nidoking and a powerful Ditto (Vitto/Ditto get it!).
After you beat him two large chests of coins are found. These are used to help the milktank farming community. You are awarded with a key to the city allowing you to Train on the farms (possibly the only place to catch milktanks) and to train in the police station.
After you leave you read the letter. It is from Vitto saying how he knew his time was up and he appreciated everything you had done for him. He tells you of a chest behind the mountain. You click on a large tree and you find a chest. In the chest you discover 20,000 coins.
The quest is now over. You descended into crime but was bought back to reality by a wise captain. You come out of it with a key to the city and around 35,000 coins.

Quests & Plots / Poke'Zoo Island!
« on: June 09, 2010, 04:26:07 AM »
Poke’Zoo Island!
Made Some Changes In RED
You receive a Ticket! It’s for entrance to the Poke’Zoo Island. Along with your ticket you receive a letter from you uncle he runs the Poke’Zoo Island and would like you as his favourite nephew to be the first to inspect the zoo. (Note if the game is designed so that each player is different i.e an uncle to thousands of players may seem odd you could have won a competition or something to tour the island first)

You jump on a boat and head over to his small island. On it you see the kind of things you would see at a zoo, cafes, popcorn carts, souvenir stores etc. You meet your uncle and he takes you on a tour of the zoo. It contains semi rare pokemon like Lapras’, Pinsir’s, pokemon like that (Kind of like what’s outside the safari zone in FR/LG). He also shows you the new electronic locks on the pens, he just ordered them and they are essential to the control of his zoo. He tells you to stay the night in the guest lodge and you can investigate the free range exhibits in the morning. He tells you a quick story of how his youth as a pokemon collector and that he decided to stop collecting and begin a zoo and breeding. He mentions something about an old friend of his who separated after his firend abandoned him in Gengar cave.
You have to wait till the next day (real time) and when you speak to your uncle again he is frantic. Someone has stolen the locks off the cages and the pokemon to. He asks you to investigate for him. You do it because he’s your favourite uncle and the zoo is supposed to be opening in a few days.

You investigate the problem by inquiring to the many zoo workers. Some say they saw nothing others say they saw some shady people, whispering and moving in the middle of the night. They each point you in a direction which will lead you to an area with another worker who will say a similar story and point you in the right direction after two or three directions the next worker will say he saw the shady characters entering a cave.

You enter the cave, AH! Its two grunt like men! They have the pokemon and the new locks stashed in this cave. There are two of them standing guard you here them mention they are going to move the pokemon to the boat house tonight were their boat is stashed and boss is waiting. You challenge them, time for a double battle!. You defeat them. As they rush to escape the cages are knocked over the pokemon flee. You watch them run off the pokemon are Lapras, Kangaskan and (some newer generation semi rare like Milotic). You cant stop them so you collect the locks and go back to your uncle.

You give it to him and he gives you a rare candy for being such a good little boy (or girl). He says however that for his zoo to open again he needs those rare pokemon. At this point the user could go away take a break and come back later to finish the second half of the quest.
Your uncle says that the pokemon have been sighted around the island. He gives you 99 Zoo balls, they have zero percent capture rates on regular pokemon but they have a higher than ultra ball catch rate on the escaped pokemon and regular balls won’t work on the escaped pokemon.

You walk around the island fighting off the hordes of mundane raticates, golbats and grass pokemon until you run into one of the pokemon. Its Kangaskan, it will appear like a legendary does in the middle of the field. You fight and capture him if you faint him he will flee instead of faint and go to a different field but like two hours later or something with revived health. You do this for the lapras in a pool inside the islands mountain. Finally you come to the other side of the island and an ocean bay. You see milotic and a strange man in front of it. He tells you the same old crap about world domination and such and collecting milotic would help him as the pokemon at the zoo are powerful pokemon unlike the golbats and skunktanks he’s using. He says your uncle will pay for what he did. He tells you It was your uncle that abandoned him in the gengar cave and that he was so scared and cursed by the gengars that he lost his prize pokemon.

You fight him and defeat him, then capture milotic. Note the pokemon cannot be traded and will not obey you in battle and you can’t receive the ticket home until you give them back to your uncle. You return the pokemon to your uncle. He shows you the rest of the island with his free range breeding program. He rewards you by letting you choose and egg from his free range breeding pokemon low and behold you can choose between a feebas egg a kangaskan egg and a lapras egg. He gives you a return ticket and you head home. OR You could talk to your uncle again. You tell him how the man you met was his former friend and that he still holds a grudge. your uncle explains that his friend wandered off the path he had assumed he had abandoned him after a small fight they had had. Your uncle tells you to head home and he will call you if he ever hears news of him again.

I havent worked out this next chained quest fully and it will be in a new post with a link to this one but it will involve your uncle hearing of his old friend over the collector circles and you and your uncle will team up to storm his old friends hideout free some stolen pokemon and dominate his grunt workers in double battles.

This could be made any difficulty by just changing the levels of the pokemon and the rockets but as milotic and such are pretty strong pokemon i would have them at least past milotics regular evolve level so pretty late in the game.
Part 1.
Do some investigating
Beat some grunts
Return the locks
Get a rare candy
Part 2.
Catch some pokemon
Beat a boss
Catch a milotic
Get an egg

Quests & Plots / The Steel Cave
« on: June 06, 2010, 08:29:24 AM »
The Steel Cave
In Game Context: Around lvl 30-40 for your Poke’mon at least after the fifth gym leader...
You leave a town (let’s say for argument sake the fifth gym town) As you are leaving town you see a rugged path of the main track. On closer inspection (Press A at the gateway to the path) it says

“A dull metal pathway, unused for some time”

You are intrigued and walk down the path way, It is a dull grey path with rocks and weeds. You travel down and see a large building its similar with a dull grey metal open doors, dishevelled looking building, doors ajar and weeds every were. A large Sign is covered in grime (Press A Welcome to the Metal Works, your one stop shop for all things steel) As you walk through you see piles of steel girders and such, everything is abandoned. Finally you come to a glowing room. You walk in. There is a large, muscular smith (much like Hagrid) working at a forge.
“Hello what is this place?” you say
“Ugh, don’t matter no more, people don’t come here anymore” he replies
The chat window ends he pulls something out of the forge and the sprite of a metal coat appears. You walk over to it click (it says the smith has just produced a metal coat, it is still warm). You return to the man.
“May I have that metal coat?” You say
“No, that there is too valuable it’s the last bit of steel I have left, after the mine was locked up”

“What happened?”
“Why don’t you go down and find out for ya self”

You leave the chat window and walk down the stair case to the right. Down the stairs is a rock hewn chamber with a huge shiny metal door. Cart tracks lead up to the door but are cut off by the door. You walk back up the stairs and talk to the smith.
“Yeah Capius shut down the mine and locked himself inside, some say he turned mad with power and wanted the cave for himself, here i’ll show ya something”

He takes you over to his living quarters in an adjacent room, he gives you a ledger and you read the entry. It describes the flourishing business off selling steel and forging metal coats and other steel items. People flocked here to buy the best steel products in the land. Two brothers Capius and Copias ran the forge. The two were powerful trainers both specializing in steel the pair were training in the cave against the steel pokemon preparing for the pokemon league. They travelled to the league and Capius and Copias faced each other in the final, Copias defeated him and gained the glory and was invited to run a gym in the league. Capius was furious when he returned to the forge. He was obsessed with training and the forge began to lose customers and become un viable. Teh forge began to lose its prosperity and people lost their jobs. Capius locked the doors to the cave and is said to be training hard in the cave, non stop, driven by rage.
The Smith tells you that he is out of steel and that Copias is the only other one with the key, he tells you he is the gym leader in the next town. You say you want to help him get more steel and to reunite the brothers.

You travel to the next town were the steel gym is. You explain the situation to the brother. He cannot leave the gym but asks you to take the key and give a letter to his brother. Its at his house in the mountains above. You climb up the path have to fight some pokemon and trainers and reach his house obtain the letter  and the key and head back toward the forge. You open the door and move into the cave. The black rocks are glinting with small silver steel pinpoints. You move through the cave fighting level 30ish steel pokemon and some rock pokemon. You travel through and reach the end, a thin dishevelled man with crazed grey hair is standing their a Steelix Bashing the rock in front of him. You encounter him and he turns enraged and attacks. He has a Magnamite lv 30, a Scizor level 34 and a Steelix level 36. You beat him and he calms down he reads the letter and says he will forgive his brother. He elaves through a back passage and you go back to the smith. He tells you you can buy a metal coat from him anytime. He is elated and moves down into the mine.

Rewards: The Abilitly to train and catch pokemon in the Steel cave
Access to a new route that leads to the steel gym town (the route Capius left by)
The ability to buy metal coats from the forge
Access to fighting the steel gym which now becomes a Double Battle Gym with both brothers as the letter told of how Capios convinced the league to change it to a double gym.
