GAHHHHH!!! I've been waiting for the release of this game since SC1 and I didn't get into the beta....I'm so depressed. I've watched every online video to date. Post some screens or videos of your games! Share please!

MW2 was sadly the biggest flop Infinity Ward could have made, even larger than permitting Treyarch to work on the other games. (World at War, COD3, etc).

The multiplayer setup is an abomination that should never have come to light. Match Making does NOT belong on PC-games for obvious reasons. Dedicated servers have been the primary hosting grounds for PC gamers. The multiplayer itself, while in essence, is fun, what is NOT fun are the following:

Marathon, Lightweight, Ninja, Knife.

The knife is the biggest joke in the game, you only RELATIVELY have to aim it and hit the key to get a ridiculous killbox.

Then there is the "Akimbo" weapons, half of which are physically impossible to dual wield. I don't know about any of you, but I can't recall the last time I saw someone dual-wielding shotguns. I was extremely disappointed at the weapons in this game for how incredibly unbalanced most of them are.

IMO, there will never be a COD game better than the original, or CoD2. Those were by far the finest days.

I do play this game occasionally, though I must admit it is out of guilt that my fiance paid $60 for it as one of my x-mas gifts. Sometimes it can be fun, but when I'm getting knifed from 20 ft away the game loses its' luster.

My steam ID is JFlorence05 if anyone plays. Otherwise I'm in game as Randy Savage. That's right.. Give me an 'OOOOOOO YEEEEEEEEAAAHH'...

you could probably go with a little bit more power on the processor and two graphics cards if you have the money. 640 gigs of space is alright as long as you're not collecting large amounts of data. You might want to spend a little more and go for between 750-850W on the power supply just to play it safe,  And how do you plan to cool it? other than that looks pretty good.

Unfortunately I can't SLI the Nvidia card as it just isn't in the cards money-wise.

Edit: The processor you may be right on, however I had forgot to mention that the CPU is going to be OC to 3.6 GHz. It has been tested and confirmed to a 3.8 GHz with the cooler I use and pushing the voltage to 1.35 however I don't want to push it to far, so 3.6 GHz will do.

The 640 GB of HDD space is not including my 2 external HDD that are both 500GB each. Those store most of my crap data like movies, photos, music, etc. The primary HDD is only for apps and app-data.

I actually thought the PSU was a 750W, that was a mistake on my end. Thanks for catching that.

The system has 7 fans within the case, plus I mod my GFX card and remove the generic fan it comes with, and replace it with a radiator system & dual attached fans. The CPU is cooled with a massive Zalman I have that keeps the temp extremely low even under extreme conditions. The HDD have a mounted fan under each as well as RAM has module coolers per chip. The machine need not fear the heat.

The SLI note you made before I may be able to accommodate later on down the road, but as for now it just isn't in the cards.

Thanks alot for your input, it's appreciated :)

Site Support / IRC Help Topic
« on: March 24, 2010, 03:35:57 PM »
I had not seen this topic explained in a lot of detail, however I have seen plenty of questions on how to use IRC in general in a few different sections and thought I would post a guide as to how this software is used. Feel free to close the topic if I am remaking a duplicate subject, otherwise I hope this information can be useful to someone.

WHAT IS IRC?

  • IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat, which is a fancy name for a chat server which hosts thousands of users and rooms (channels), much like AOL chatrooms, instant messenger clients, etc.

WHY USE IT?

  • IRC is excellent for combining a large user base and a large amount of content (PU's many forum threads and sections). It is a great tool to trade information, data, or just shoot the breeze.

WHY NOT JUST USE THE FORUM?

  • The forum is indeed the primary and best place for content and information, however adding a real-time element and the ability to talk to a broader group of people at once can be as equally beneficial, if not more in certain cases.

HOW DO I USE IT?

  • IRC is extremely easy to use. Simply download an IRC client such as Pirch or mIRC or one of many others, select a pre-existing server or manually add a new one, make up a nickname, and connect. Once connected, you are free to join any and all channels you like.

OK, WHAT ABOUT THE SPECIFICS FOR PU?

  • To connect to reach Pokemon-Universe on IRC, first, download your preferred IRC client, and be sure to create/add the following:
  • server: irc.rizon.net
  • port: 6667
  • Be sure to create your Nick (username) in your IRC client prior to connecting. Once connected, register that nickname by typing the following command:
  • /NS REGISTER PASSWORD EMAIL
(be sure to replace PASSWORD with the password you wish to use, and EMAIL with your email address. Don't worry, you won't receive spam.
ALSO: BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR EMAIL, A CONFIRMATION CODE WAS SENT TO VERIFY YOUR ADDRESS. ONCE YOU RECEIVE THIS , GO BACK INTO IRC AND TYPE: /NS ENTERCODE VERIFCATIONCODEHERE

  • Once you have created your password, be sure to remember it. Each time you connect to the server you will have to identify yourself by typing the following command:
  • /NS IDENTIFY PASSWORD
  • After you have finished the previous steps, all that is left to do is JOIN! to do that, type the following command:
  • /JOIN #POKEMON-UNIVERSE
  • Congratulations, you're done!

mIRC download link: http://www.mirc.com/
Pirch32 download link: http://dapatchy.com/downloads/
(Note: Pirch is an outdated client and no longer has updates, you will need to manually add everything.)

If you have any questions or concerns feel free to post, I have been using IRC as well as owned, operated, and built IRC servers for over 10 years.

That's a pretty cool story. Whether it's true or not I don't know but at least it gives some perspective on that clever pixelated pokemon. I have in fact caught him a few times before, and once in fact it did mess the game up, but not to the point where it bricked and was unusable. I simply restarted the game (it wiped out the game-data).

Aside from that, I enjoyed infinite rare-candy and master-balls.

I've always favored Nidoking and Kadabra ever since watching the original series tv show. Plus, they just look awesome. I've had them both (Alakazam in the games) as part of my primary team in every pokemon game I've ever played/owned.

New Trainers / Welcome / Hey there
« on: March 24, 2010, 01:40:07 PM »
Hey everyone, just found the site/game, thought I would sign up and say hello and voice my thoughts about how great the game sounds and the site looks. I'm looking forward to the game.

I've played a few different F2P Pokemon MMO's/online games however most fell short of their own goals and expectations, let alone the rest of the players. This however does seem exceptionally promising in pretty much all aspects of gameplay and theory.

While most games just take a copy of the original game(s), you guys have seemingly rebuilt the game from the ground up, keeping the core values alive and adding great features at the same time makes this look even better.

Hats off to the devs!
