I noticed it before, pointed it out, and learned that it was intentional.

Note that above image is not a real screenshot but a mock-up for our battle interface. :) Although, in the end it will probably be like this in-game.

It was just a mock-up as Mr_Dark has stated, so what you see on the screenshot is not set in stone. And yes I believe "Lv." will be used.

Well what I did there, was remove one line from the eye (bottom one; eye = 3 lines) and replaced it with the "eyeliner", because when I used an eyeliner on the whole eye, it just looked like a big monocle.

ShedinjaEDIT: Here's the (hopefully) improved version. I modified some things that were pointed out to the best of my ability, and to my liking. I couldn't do a cute ghost/dark Pokémon's face due to spacial issues, but I made a PokéBand's logo (my own creation). Made it a bit more like a jacket with buttons because on it's own was a bit too plain for my taste.

I decided to remove the black outlines from the skin, and used lighter, more skin colored outlines trying to give off a better impression on being pale. If they make it worse I can re-edit them.

Yes, I know it's a little creepy, and honestly, many emos tend to dress and look creepy (not all of course) and since the colors are darker (black and purple) that sort of makes it a bit creepier. The striped shirt reminds me of a skeleton but I kind of like how it turned out. The stripe at the back is there because without it i felt it was too empty and plain, so I think i'll keep it there. I was also thinking of adding a logo to the back, but that was already mentioned for the Roman Cos-player. I might make one on the front though, just to see how it looks. Thanks for the advices I'll see what I can do about it.

I agree with Cortex, and also, there was a demand for screenshots a few months back as well:

"you get one and you feel happy yes"? This is the same screenshot as the one posted in the other thread. You can turn your energy of asking for a screenshot into the energy of searching for a screenshot, and you might find a cake! Aside from that please be patient and look forward to the release of the game like the rest of us. :)

Well thanks for giving me another chance, I found I am actually enjoying the pixel art business quite a bit, and wouldn't mind learning to do it properly. I took over the emo assignment and tried to shade it in a new way than how I did before. Hopefully it improved.

General Chat / Re: In game character status alignment
« on: June 27, 2012, 01:34:15 AM »
If you want to ask alignments you might want to ask it properly. Let me give you a tip:

Good: - Chaotic Good => A chaotic good character acts as his conscience directs him with little regard for what others expect. He believes in goodness and right, but has little use for laws and regulations. He follows his own moral compass, which, although good, may not agree with that of society. A ranger who waylays the evil baron's tax collectors is chaotic good. Chaotic good combines a good heart with a free spirit.

          - Neutral Good => A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. A cleric who helps others according to their needs is neutral good. Neutral good means doing what is good without bias toward or against order.

          - Lawful Good => A lawful good character has the commitment and discipline to oppose and fight evil relentlessly. She tells the truth, keeps her word, and speaks out against injustice. A lawful good character hates to see the guilty go unpunished. A paladin who fights evil without mercy and who protects the innocent without hesitation is lawful good. Lawful good emphasizes honor and compassion.

Neutral: - Chaotic Neutral => A chaotic neutral character is an individualist, resents restrictions, and challenges tradition. He does not intentionally promote anarchy, however, as that would require he be motivated either by good (and a desire to liberate others) or evil (and a desire to make others suffer). A bard who wanders the land living by his wits is chaotic neutral. Chaotic neutral represents freedom both from society's restrictions and from a do-gooder's zeal, though a character of this alignment is not totally random in his actions. He is not as likely to jump off a bridge as to cross it.

             - True Neutral => A true neutral character does not feel strongly one way or the other about good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. She thinks good is better than evil — after all, she would rather have good neighbors and rulers than evil ones — but she is not personally committed to upholding good in any abstract or universal way. A wizard who devotes herself to her art and is bored by the semantics of moral debate is true neutral. Some true neutral characters, however, commit themselves philosophically to neutrality. They see good, evil, law, and chaos as dangerous extremes. They advocate neutrality as the most balanced road in the long run. Neutral means you act naturally, without prejudice or compulsion.

             - Lawful Neutral => A lawful neutral character acts as law, tradition, or a personal code direct her. She may believe in personal order and live by a code or standard, or she may believe in order for all and favor a strong, organized government. A monk who follows her discipline without being swayed by the demands of those in need nor by the temptations of evil is lawful neutral. Lawful neutral means that you are reliable and honorable without being a zealot.

Evil: - Chaotic Evil => A chaotic evil character does whatever his greed, hatred, and lust for destruction drive him to do. He is hot-tempered, vicious, and unpredictable. Thankfully, his plans are haphazard, and any groups he joins or forms are poorly organized. Typically, chaotic evil people can only be made to work together by force, and their leader lasts only as long as he can thwart attempts to topple or assassinate him. The demented sorcerer pursuing mad schemes of vengeance and havoc is chaotic evil. Chaotic evil represents the destruction not only of beauty and life but of the order on which beauty and life depend.

       - Neutral Evil => A neutral evil villain does whatever she can get away with, shedding no tears for those she harms. She has no love of order and holds no illusion that following laws, traditions, or codes would make her any more noble. However, she doesn't have the restless nature or love of conflict that a chaotic evil villain has. The criminal who robs and murders to get what she wants is neutral evil. Neutral evil represents evil without honor and without variation.

       - A lawful evil villain methodically takes what he wants within the limits of his code of conduct. He cares about tradition, loyalty, and order, but not about freedom, dignity, or life. He is loath to break laws or promises, partly because he depends on order to protect himself. Some lawful evil villains have particular taboos, such as not killing in cold blood, and imagine that these compunctions put them above unprincipled thugs. The scheming baron who exploits his people is lawful evil. Lawful evil represents methodical, intentional evil.

This was taken from NwNWiki, and describes alignments perfectly. I just think something like this should be given if you wish to make a poll, so that people actually know what they are voting for.

Looking great Monzta, one thing though: the staff and the "mark" on the cape seem to be on the wrong side sometimes, not sure if it's intentional or not, but if it isn't you might want to fix it.

Ideas & Suggestions / Re: Fight old pokemon characters
« on: June 22, 2012, 07:48:51 PM »
He meant we cannot use characters from previous games. We are already using the idea of Pokémon which is not ours, but that's because we want to create a new Pokémon experience where interaction with other players is important. So the problem is, we are already using their ideas of Pokémon, let's not give them any more reason to tell us we take copies from the game.

Ah, I see Cortex already answered.

Not really, you see the Lorica squamata (Roman scale-mail armor) was made of either iron or bronze. Since he started it with yellow, I assumed he was going for the bronze version of it.

You might want to make it a darker yellow (bronze), right now he just reminds me of a guy dressing as a rooster :D.
