I'm not really shure where to post this, but since it's about starters, I guess I'll post it here;
When 5th. gen. comes out you should hold an event to allow people, that allredy chose their starters to catch/get one 5th. gen starter, since they couldn't chose one in start .

 Ha, ha!! I like both poles, as for Pokemon knowlege, I know EVERY pokemon of 1st generation, I'm a little weaker in 2nd generation, 3rd generation is perfect, and at 4th I allmost know every pokemon's description.  Pokemon maniac alert!

There will be trainer levels which will take care of that. It has not been said yet, but it may be like you need at most 5 trainer levels difference so that two real trainers can battle.
Well, yes some way to indentify trainer before battleing it, something like that is absolutelly needed, in order to prevent high lv. trainers from beating complete rookies...

You have to know, there are 2260 members, and after the game acually starts, there are probably gonna be more thean 5000. Imagine, that only 1 peson out of 5000 and more gets a shiny pokemon...  You see, if there's gonna be only 1 or 10 players, then the best 10 or 20 will keep winning and getting shinies, while other 4980 players will never get a chance. The shiny tunament should be once on 2, 3 or more months, not only oance a year. There should be (like Phosphorous said) around 30 - 50 best trainers going to island, haveing 24h to catch as much shinies as they like, but leaving with one (not till the sundown, some pokemon are active only in night). And everyone would get to keep one!! Even if there is 50 people (since the site is growing, there should be around 30 players to start with, but number will increase with more users) getting shinies every two months, SHINY POKEMON WOULD STLL BE REARE, but not UNPOSSIBLE to get!!

B In MMORPG's you get money from killing monsters.. I assume you will get money if you win from a wild Pokemon. =]
I don't like getting money for doing nothing (Wait a second,, if it was real life..... xD) 
But then, we should get some actual money, not something like; ...you earned 3 _____(insert value)... It makes me really depresed to beat 10 Pokemon in order to get enugh money to buy a potion...

Best 10... These kind of things allways make feel uneasy inside...  Maybe there should be a contest to chose the 10 (I wish there would be more) best players to join proffesor... As for idea - everyone keep 1 shiny Pokemon is great, but make shure there isn't 30 diffret pokemon in one little erea, that would make the one you want to catch unpossible to finde (some people are picky about the gender to) How about catch as much as you want, but teake only 1, that would be fair to chose from. The other option is the cave, the same as before, just with no catching, you simply pick pokemon, wich you want to be shiny. Still it would make the event less exciting... Anyway... an island full of shiny pokemon is a must have in game!!!

This idea is absolutley wonderfull! The fact that there can allways be an empty egg makes you very happy for anything you get, and egg hunt makes running around grass much more exciting, and on ester there should be grand egg hunt, in wich there is a high rate of getting reare and shiny pokemon (smaller reare egg hunt would come every month or every two months, while there would allways be a little chance to get an egg).

About the clothes, why not asking the trainer: "hey, what are you wearing?" =P
I know, it's sort of awkward, but if you really want to know what clothes is the trainer wearing...  I think that only the ones who 'bought' an expensive clothing would want to say it.
That's an OK idea, but I'm afraid some trainers will be rude and just go on like no one asked a thing... I think, that we shoud be able to see the average level of pokemon that person has with him/her, to make shure that player vs. playes battles are fair.

Getting robbed would be interesting, more real life - like. Or getting robbed in qest (but get the money back once completting it). Maybe you could hold an event 'money-less day' - all users would have their money 0, with no way to earn it... *OK, I'm officialy going to far* Since this is a discussion about money, I sugesst some sort of salary, wich we would get every day at same hour, just to make shure no one gets broke, or hasn't got money to buy potions, pokeballs,... And items should be very affordable, even chep; I really heate it when Pokemon game becomes 'get a lot of money' game  !
