Nexos

As the supply truck crashed, the mercenaries barely returned fire, only able to injure one or two Utopians as they were quickly taken down. He smiled, there were casualties but this battle has been won with little difficulty. As the last mercenary fell the Utopians ceased fire, and all that was left of the mercenaries were corpses... but Nexos was always one that wanted to make sure. He walked towards the truck that he personally made crash, kicking away a few corpses and checking the drivers seat. He was surprised to see the driver still breathing. There was blood running down his forehead, but he was alive. He was about to finish him with his pistol but then a thought crossed his mind...

There could be uses with this one. We may be able to squeeze a little information out of him.

He thought it over for a moment, and came to a decision as he turned to his squad.

Take this one alive, he may be of use to us. Kill anyone else that may be injured or alive in the supply/transport trucks, I have a feeling we'll only need one.

Urusu

As he walked around, he soon began to realize how different his body was now. It was a lot lighter, making it a bit awkward for him to move. Not to mention to his knowledge, he has no weapons at all. He had fists, but being this light, punching would be very ineffective. For now, he needs to know where he was. He noticed someone walking around the night with what seems to be a weapon with him. He seemed like a soldier, but Urusu couldn't tell in the dark. What he did know is that the other guy had a gun, and he needed to act as non-suspicious as possible.

Uh... How do I socialize again.... I know! Hello, thing of flesh and or metal, would you happen to know where the frig I am? Nailed it.

Nexos

He saw a few of his men go down, but he didn't let that distract him as he fired the final signal flare for the other squads. As they saw the flare in the sky, they immediately opened fire at the mercenaries from both sides of the road, raining bullets down onto them from higher ground, and taking out a lot of their men. Nexos noticed a truck trying to drive through and took out his pistol. He started firing at the driver, hoping to either kill the driver or to hit something important.

As if I'm letting any Underland scum escape this alive.

Urusu

He 'slept' for only about a minute before he powered up again, flinging himself off the bed (Which is more of a table, really), and unplugging himself from the machine. He looked at his hands, and chuckled to himself.

Well, look who just got his body back... Now let's burn the place down...

He started laughing and pointed his hand at the door, waiting for a little while before he looked at his hand in confusion.

Weird, usually a thingy comes out of my palm and starts burning things... WHAT'S GOING ON?!

He started swinging his arms and legs around as he called names of weapons.

Jigsaw, missile launcher, electric whips, flamethrower, blaster, sniper rifle, NOT EVEN MY CHAINSAWS?! ... Eh?

He looked at his cloak, a bit confused as he looked over himself and noticed he was a lot lighter.

The frig is with this cloak? And why am I so thin?! WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MY BEING UNABLE TO KILL THINGS?! ... First, the cloak.

He tore off his cloak, noticing he also looked a bit shorter than what he remembered. He cursed to himself, those soldiers that disabled him must have done something to him. He needed answers as he knocked down the door and looked around. It was a crappy place to him, but it was better than that Dr. Whatshisface's lab... all it was missing was stuff on fire. He started walking around, looking for anyone to either ask questions to or kill. Probably both.

(Just a note, he has no idea how to work his guns or anything. So imagine someone who used to be powerful being transformed into a kitten.)

Some time before...

Isaach

He thought for a moment, then nodded in agreement.

I'd appreciate it.

He didn't like the idea of staying at a place he wasn't familiar with, but it seems that he has little choice if he wants to be able to sleep. The past weeks been rough, he could use a refresher.

Nexos

He spotted signals from each of the squads, signaling they were ready. Now they wait, and it wont take long for the mercenaries to arrive.

Urusu

After a bit of searching, he found his old friend and mechanic in his workshop, tinkering with a few engines as he turned to Urusu and saw his poorly-fixed arm..

Hold on a moment and I'll repair that arm of yours.

After gathering his tools, he started on repairs. It wasn't long before he finished, Urusu satisfied with being able to move his arm freely.

Thank you for the repairs, I appreciate it. Here, your payme-

The mechanic merely shook his head and smiled.

I don't accept payment from friends. After all, I still owe you one for saving my tail a while back.

With that, Urusu said his goodbyes and left the workshop, pausing and grasping his head in pain (Or however robots simulate that). He decided he should head home to reboot, it was probably just a malfunction.

Now

Nexos

He could see the mercenaries caravan, it wasn't that far away from their current position. His men and the other squads were hidden, waiting for the right moment to strike.

Now for the moment of truth...

As the mercenaries drew near, Nexos silently readied the signal flare for the decoy attack. His squad was ready, and when the moment was right, Nexos signaled his squads attack with a red flare being fired into the sky.

Attack!

His men heard the signal and started firing, taking the mercenaries by surprise and killing/injuring seven men right off the bat. Nexos readied the blue flare, for the other eight squads...

Isaach

Groggy from working on the hounds, he climbed onto the bed Oscar made for him. He wanted to sleep, but for some reason he couldn't. Something about this situation didn't seem right, he came here to become a rebel and help in the war, and now he's helping with taking care of hell hounds in one of the most peaceful towns possible, and now hes given a free place to sleep.

Come to think of it, the hounds are probably good forms of transportation and all, but those hounds had scars on them. They're probably from zigarexes, but... they also had other scars that seem like bullet wounds... If these people aren't Rebels, then who are they?

Urusu

As he entered his home, he layed on his steel bed and started on his reboot and system check. He closed his eyes and scanned his data, not finding anything out of the ordinary.

... This is strange. Then there was no reason for that random error... For now I'll shut down so I can recharge for tomorrow.

With that, he plugged himself into his small electric generator, and shut himself down for the night.

(Swear to god I thought I posted, my bad.)

Isaach

He tilted his head, thinking about an appropriate way to answer.

Well, I wouldn't call it a power but I can glow in the dark at will. Never figured out how that works.

Nexos

Nexos' squads ship landed farther down the path, between the mercenaries' position and their destination. Nexos looked to his men.

Alright, take your positions men. We need to make sure that the mercenaries don't reach past this point while the other squads work on demolishing their forces. When I fire the signal, fire at will!

His men saluted and that matter was settled. Nexos bit his lip, with this many men and this organized a plan the mission is bound to be a success, but at the same time there are bound to be casualties. He didn't like that, but he quickly regained composure. If he cannot stand a single casualty, he wont be able to win this war.

Urusu

He looked to Archie and nodded, setting aside the written report for now.

I was patrolling the area around Sector Zero with squad forty-nine, when we were somehow detected and attacked by thirteen Utopians, about five of them were Utopian Guard robots. The fight with the Utopians was a bit long, there were only eight of us. Even though we had the advantage of the area, without the backup from squad thirty-four, who we contacted shortly after the attack, we probably would have lost that one. We haven't had any death tolls, but we did have a few casualties. I myself got shot in the arm, a mechanic helped give a temporary fix, but I had to finish it here were I kept my repair kits. A few others got a bullet wound or two, but they should be able to recover.

A couple of the rebels in the room were filling oral reports due to apparent wounds in their arms which were wrapped in bandages, others had a few leg or chest shots wrapped in bandages.

As for the Utopians, however, they have a few death tolls... I... was involved in a few of them. From my side of the fight, about three soldiers were killed. Many others were injured and they were forced to retreat their losing battle. After that, Squad thirty-nine went back to patrol because of their lack of casualties, while our squad had to retreat here to treat our injuries.

Nexos

He nodded, taking the information to heart and saluting before taking the uniform.

Understood.

He exited the room, and immediately went to the changing room to change into his new uniform. He looked into the preview mirror to make sure it was on right before heading to the drop station to meet with his squad, the other seven squads making preparations for the mission. The squads were bout eight to ten soldiers each, each with their own respective captain. Nexos' squad saluted him as he arrived, the squad was made up of only eight people, nine including himself.

Alright, now is the time to make any last minute preparations. I must speak with the other captains about our battle plan, as soon as that is taken care of then we must go.

They nodded and made their preparations as Nexos walked to the other squads. Nexos gathered the captains of each squad quickly. He pulled out his virtual map, pointing to the overlay of their mission.

Alright, I have a simple but effective plan. As you all probably know, our target's are mercenaries, meaning that attacking them head-on will be risky. I propose that four squads should stick to one side, while four take the other, my squad will take their front to prevent escape. We keep the pressure on them and make it hard for them to react.

A few captains nodded in agreement, seeing the logic in the plan. But a few looked skeptical and one in particular was uncomfortable.

There's a problem though, the environment they are traveling through doesn't seem suitable for a surprise attack. The environment around the route they are taking is open, meaning it will be difficult for us to surprise them without proper equipment, which we don't have for this mission.

Nexos nodded, scanning the map and seeing the flaw. Something caught his eye, and he pointed to a spot on the route.

This area seems littered with hills and broken buildings though, is it possible we can surprise them there?

The captains thought about it, and another spoke up.

Assuming that they live in the Underlands, they may know about that spot and may be most wary in that area.

That wont be much of a problem, they'll suspect that, at most, a small band of bandits will make a bold move. They wont expect to be surrounded by Utopian's. We also still have the advantage of surprise and cover, they'll be surrounded, making it impossible for them to find any effective cover.

After a moment to think the plan over, the captains nodded in agreement.

Alright, now that the plan is settled we may as well move out.

And with that, they each went to their squads, making final preparations and heading off to intersect the mercenaries.

Isaach

He nodded, and started to sweep another part of the kennel.

Well, good job Isaach. Your bound to be a rebel at this rate. Moving on from thievery to feeding and cleaning up after hounds... Well, at the very least I can try to make myself useful. Heck, maybe I can live around here for a while until I find out what to do next.

He couldn't shake off a weird feeling though, it was something about the tone in Archie and Oscars voice. He just shrugged it off though, they wouldn't have a reason to lie... would they?

Nexos

He was honestly a bit surprised, but nodded.

Well, pleasant surprise. Roger that.

The transport soon made it's destination, and as soon as he was cleaned he quickly but calmly made his way to the war room. He entered the large dark room, the only illumination were the lights above the superiors, the screens which showed many different maps that mostly showed the Underlands, but also a few from Utopia. The middle of the room, surrounded by a sort of table that stretched around it like a C shape, was also illuminated by a single light. He walked there and saluted respectfully.

You called, sirs?

Urusu

Now that he thought about it, he completely forgot about his report. He nodded.

Now that you mention it, I forgot about that. I'll head over there now.

With that, he made his way to the capitol building. Urusu went into a hidden room noting that most of the people who were at the mission were there, the ones who were not here were most likely home after filing a report. He took a blank file and started writing down the events that he saw occur during the mission, as well as how the mission went well.

Urusu

He soon finished repairs, testing his arm by doing swings and other motions with it. Satisfied with the repairs, he put up his repair kit and hid it. Though Hope Village was mostly peaceful, he knew that a thief could possibly sneak into Hope Village and possibly into his own home. He decided the best thing to do, for now, was to put on his other cloak and walk around town, he might be able to find something to help with. And with that, he put his cloak on and walked out the door for a walk.

Nexos

His team was picked up by a transport, there was a medic as was explained in the communicator. The medic immediately went to treat the soldiers burns as the ship went off for Utopia, and explained he'll be out of action for a least two days after examining the burns. Nexos nodded, just glad that the Rebels are eliminated and that there are no death's on his side.

I'll need to be more careful from now on, not only did I endanger the others, I also almost died myself... you can do better than this Nexos, get a hold of yourself. But jeez, this is gonna look pretty bad on the report.

Isaach

He went inside and started putting down the food evenly to the hounds.

Well I came here to join the Rebellion believe it or not, but as usual my hunch was completely wrong.

He walked out of the kennel and closed the door, the hounds were scarfing down the food.

A few days ago, I was stuck in between some fire power between a few Rebels and Utopians. The Rebels won that one, and I happened to overhear one mentioning the Eastern Sector.

Well, 'overhear' was a bit inaccurate. Climbing behind a broken wall and spying on them was more accurate.

Nexos

They were walking around in the ruins and starting to lose hope in finding them, then Nexos heard a sound and signaled the other two to stop. He unsheathed his sword to wield it in one hand, and held his pistol in the other, scanning the area for movement. The suddenly the area lit up, and a fireball was hurling towards Nexos from one of the buildings.

Ambush!

He rolled out of the way, the fireball making a small explosion. The other two dodged it as well, but then the monster made an appearance behind the two soldiers and was about to attack them, but Nexos was faster and managed to fire about three bullets into it's chest. The monster roared in pain as the lead in the bullets weakened him, and fell to his knees, unable to breathe. One of the soldiers finished him off, but another fireball was thrown right at them. One jumped out of the way, but the other one unfortunately didn't, and was burnt up badly in the chest as a result.

Nexos aimed for the source, but then the human rebel jumped out of the shadows and knocked the pistol out of Nexos' hand with a makeshift weapon. The rebel swung at his head, but Nexos easily dodged and swung at his side with the blunt of his weapon, knocking the wind out of the rebel and causing him to drop his weapon. Nexos then took full advantage and grabbed his arm, swinging the blade down on the rebels head, effectively killing him.

And then there was o-

Then, he was punched in the face by a flaming fist. As a result of his astonishment, he dropped his sword and fell to the ground onto his back. The rebel chosen pinned him down, her fists were literally on fire, and her expression was absolutely livid.

You Utopian scum! I'll make you pay!

She was about to punch him repeatedly, but then she was shot repeatedly in the back by a Utopian soldier. She recoiled in pain, but her fist was still held high, her flames dimming until they stopped. She fell over off of him, dead. Nexos' eyes were wide with shock, but then he shook it off remembering one of the soldiers are injured. He opened his communicator as he got up.

The mission was a success, the Rebels are dead. One of the other soldiers were burnt badly though.

Copy that, we're sending a ship your way along with a medic.

With that, Nexos picked up his weapons and the three of them started walking to one of the pick up points. Nexos, however, couldn't help but look back at the corpse of the rebel chosen, remembering the look of absolute hatred in her face and noticing a burnt mark on his face. He then turned back, knowing he wont forget why they need to exterminate these dangerous rebels.

Nexos

He was dropped off by a stealth ship, dropping into the Underlands seemingly unnoticed with two other soldiers. The area was littered with ruined buildings.

So you say they are in this area?

Nexos nodded. If these Rebels are intelligent. They seem to be heading eastward, and this is the only place that's relatively safe that they can pass through. Assuming they are heading East, that is. Now let's search the area, they should be around here somewhere.

Urusu

He made his way into Hope Village without being noticed. He went into a building that was made of scrap metal, which was his own home, taking off his cloak to look at his half-broken arm. It looked like nothing serious, as he took out a repair kit from one of his makeshift drawers and started on repairs.

Isaach

He nodded, looking at the hounds and taking note that they were definitely tame. He went into the back of the kennel and found some bowls and some food, distributing the food in the bowls evenly like instructed.

OK, just feed the hounds and I'll find out what I'm gonna do from here...

Isaach picked up three different stacks of the food and walked out of the back, closing the door behind him with his oddly dexterous tail. He walked to the door to the hounds, but found he couldn't open the door with his tail.

Hey Oscar, can you get the door. My claws are kinda full.

Isaach

He sighed in disappointment, he knew it was probably a false lead. Either way he's not joining the rebels any time soon, that much was obvious.

I need to stop listening to my hunches. It's fine, I thought they wouldn't be here, couldn't hurt to try.

He "overheard" a few rebels a while back talking, and one of them mentioned Hope Village. He thought that was their base, but the rebel from before is probably just a resident here. He reluctantly followed Archie, figuring he could at least make himself useful. He was led to the kennels, and after Archie left he noticed a man who was probably Oscar. Isaach approached him, glancing a bit at the kennel before looking at him.

That guy told me you needed help with the hounds, so what do you need help with?

Isaach

He was a bit surprised by the huge figure, but he didn't dwell on the thought. After all, Isaach wasn't exactly human either.

Uh... Hi. I was wondering if I could join the rebellion.

Urusu

He had the equivalent of a sigh when the Utopians retreated. He didn't like the fact that he killed a few people, but he knows it was necessary. He started on his way back to Hope Village.

Nexos

He saluted the quartermaster, reading the paper as he equipped his sword and pistol. Apparently a few rebel prisoners escaped a Utopian encampment in the marshlands. He smiled, looking over the profiles. This will be fairly simple but interesting, there are three escapees in total, one of them is a human but there is also a monster and a chosen among them. He loaded some lead ammo onto his belt and went on his way down to the wastelands, he had a good idea where the escapees were heading...

Urusu

Nodding, Urusu tested his arm, moving it around. It was a bit stiff but it would have to do until the battle was over. With that, Urusu jumped out of the way of a few bullets, firing a few shots at a Utopian soldier and taking cover. He sank into the shadows, walking low to another point, then emerged and fired at a Utopian, accurately hitting him in the arm, causing him to drop his gun, making him an easy target for the other rebels.

Isaach

His ears perked up, surprised that he hasn't been shot yet. That at least confirmed that the town was a lot more peaceful than the rest of the underlands. He thanked the rebel and followed to road, he was still tired but the fact that he made it to his destination lifted his spirits. He followed the road and soon made it to the end of that road, noticing an important-looking building.

Well, this should be it. Just as good a guess as any.

He walked into the building, not really knowing what to expect.

Urusu

The robot nodded, noticing a soldier not far off aiming for them, but Urusu was quicker and shot the soldier with his other arm's gun. The pistol was shot out of his hand, then he was shot by another Rebel.

Thank you, anything can help right about now.

Nexos

Nexos was busy doing nothing. He hasn't been assigned to a mission for a while, and all he had to do was walk around the soldier barracks. He had his communicator ready, that was usually how they called him to missions, but lately his hope for a mission has been dwindling.

Jeez, I don't know why I haven't been called for a mission lately. I don't think I've done anything to anger the superiors. Lately. I seriously need a mission before I get out of shape.

Isaach

After a few more minutes of walking, he finds he made it surprisingly early to what looks like his destination. With a sigh of relief he almost collapsed, but regained his composure. He looked around, a bit confused as to what to do at this point.

Ok, I'm here.... now what? ... ... ... I should have thought this through a bit better.

Urusu

Urusu was assisting in the fight with the Utopians outside of Sector 0. He was firing at a few Utopian soldiers, dodging a few bullets himself. He fired at a soldier and managed to hit the soldier in a weak spot, effectively killing him/her. However, he soon received fire as well, a bullet piercing his right arm and breaking it. He quickly took cover, cursing as he didn't have time to bring a repair kit when they attacked. He decided to fight anyway, continuing to fire at the Utopian soldiers and robots.

Isaach

Isaach was not too far from Hope Village, having traveled for a few days on foot. He was tired, and wanted to arrive as quickly as possible to Hope Village and join the Rebellion.

Ugh, why did I have to live so far from here. I need to get there soon before I'm Zigarex food...

At the very least he has a few food supplies, but he really needs to get there fast somehow.
