Its kinda obvious whose going to win :P
-
I've gotta go with fire/fight/flying because of Charizard and Infernape.
-
im going with water, i freaking LOVE water pokemon
-
i love charizard and i m gonna choose him.
-
Bulbasaur ftw indeed. :P
-
i prefer fire and water in fire red/leaf green, grass on pokemon ruby/sapphire and fire and water in pokemon hearthgold/soulsilver
-
I always start with water. It was the frist pokemon I had .
-
Fear Sceptle, Serpeior, and Torterra!
-
Fear...BLASTOISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111
-
I chose fire/flying and water/ground. I have to say, the grass-starters aren't shaping up too well so far.
-
i never knew there were starting pokemon with 2 types (first evolution)
anyway i chose fire it seems to be that fire and water are the ones that people argue over and grass is just a side
like saying you and your friends were choosing on what pizza to get and the fight going on over and over again and grass is the bread sticks you get with it
-
You just know the apocalypse will begin with the introduction of a water/fire type. Never going to happen...grass/water was understandable, fire/grass would be possible with an Australian Bluegum-like pokemon (only spreads seeds when on fire), but NEVER water/fire. I REFUSE TO BELIEVE ITS POSSIBLE

ya see its just fire and water people care about even if it has grass in it and if there were fire/water pokemon here are the 2 main possibilities of what might happen
apocalypse
a part of the fire water argument will be stopped
here is the percentage probably
1. 75%
2. 10%
3. 15%
3. is anything else

I'd have to say, water/ground, Swampert is awesome!
But if it was out of any Pokemon for a starter, I'd say a Rattata. ;D
-
my favorurite starter type would have to be fire
cause they're all cool except for tepig hes gay :P
-
I honestly prefer any of the starters. I generally play the games 3 times so I can see the full capability of all 3 starters throughout the game. Granted some make the game go faster than others, I think they're all amazing in the end.
-
Sceptile being the best grass starter.
-
Yep.. Sceptile is a nice pokemon in general. ^^
For my case... I LOVE water types.. but what blew my head off was Piplup=>water/steel which makes me even more happy. ^^ But the main reason was because of a penguin starter pokemon. <3
-
Empoleon and Charizard :)
-
Torterra was totally the best starter in existence. I pretty much one shot at least half of E4 with him. He's so beast. <3
-
he's good, really but no match for empoleon.
Before you say "Torterra is grass you idiot, he'll own empoleon", empoleon is half water and half steel and grass isn't very effective against grass.
Also another thing that makes empoleon great is that one of the only thing supereffective against steel is water which makes him hard to beat unless you have ice or something.

Water isn't super effective against steel, and Fighting, Fire, and Ground are super effective. But fire does neutral damage to Empoleon, so Fighting, Ground, and Electric moves are super effective.
-
Having steel type gains some advantages and also lost some advantages.
Water only have 2 weakness : Electric and grass
Water steel have 3 weakness: Electric , Fighting, and ground. And also now fire does x1 dmg instead of .5. In other hand flying , bug , ghost , psychic , dragon , dark, and rock only does .5 dmg instead of x1 dmg.
I think it make empoleon worst by having steel type cuz mostly everyone have ground and fighting.
Gotta go with Infernape !!!

But people also can't stall with Toxic, since Steel types are immune to Poison attacks. And you can use other pokemon to counter fighting, ground, and electric types.

If you go back to what I said though, I said that torterra is no match for empoleon and if you look back at what you said, you said that adding on steel type to water type removes the grass weakness.

Since when is ice super effective against Steel or Water?
-
making infernape the best Fire Starter.
-
The others both are much bulkier than infernape, and they also have strong super effective moves against infernape, so in my opinion, Empoleon is best, because it has steel typing, which is amazing.
-
Torterra-Flare Blitz/Flamethrower
Empoleon-ThunderPunch/Close Combat/EQ
WINNING
-
Why no peace lol?
:o
Both Torterra and Empoleon are great pokémon, though at start youl have a hard time with Piplup.
When they both evolve to their 2nd stage, they are......for me like brothers that are there to cover eachother. :-[ :-X :-\
And the same in my opinion happens on the final stage. This two pokémons are team builders, they drastically affect your team choices and each of them have weaknesses and strengths. :) ;)
-
another convo-break
-
fire is the best because the fire Pokemon is always the most powerful and grass is the weakest.
-
that is something I have to disagree on. It's true that grass has more weaknesses than Fire and fire is the higher ranking than the other starters(with the exception of Swampert), but they have counters. Let's take Sceptile for example:
Staraptor? get Rock Slide
Heatran? Earthquake.
Weavile? Focus Blast/Drain Punch/ Brick Break
Drapion? EQ again.
Now torterra, which can take Physical hits well.
Stone Edge for Flying/Ice/Fire pokemon
EQ for Stab and Fire Fighting pokemon & Steel
Seperior:
Iron Tail for Ice Types
Glare for the Fire and flying pokemon
Poision isn't promoted enough.
Venasaur:
EQ for fire
When all is lost, Outrage and Frenzy plant
Meganium:
LS and Reflect for resistance
Iron Tail for Ice
though they (excluding sceptile) don't have acess to some moves, they can still find their ways around.

Good job of being the grass starter supporter. :)
-
It's my favoritetype. I've only seen one other person use a grass type, and that was Venusaur. His V-saur and my T-terra were pretty much archenemies. but I'm still playin Diamond so I won't be able to show my wrath until I obtain B/W and 3DS(for wifi).
-
Well, my favorite pokemon is Bulbasaur, but in all other games i choce some Fire pokemon
-
no matter what i always choose a water pokemon
-
well, i do like fire but it really depends on the game that im playing, but in silver/crystal/gold im going all in when i say typhlosion
-
I usually use the ones that are reptilian, but it really depends on animations.. 1st gen Charizard 2nd Feraligatr 3rd Sceptile 4th Torterra 5th Emboar.
-
fire type for me. hehe. Except for Pokemon White i choose leaf
-
i choose fire type in most of games.
-
i would always choose fire/fly or just fire pokemons unless the pokemon i want isnt there ill just get grass
-
I normally always get the water starter cause they can learn an ice type move that helps it againts grass, and most grass types are somewhat slow. I dont usually do it, but they can also learn earthquake. But personally Empoleon is my favorite, plus the great stats.
-
I normally go for water because you can easily beat the first gym leader. Unless you can get the seagull-like Pokemon (the one that evolves into Peleper), then I go for the fire type, because the ground and grass types are easy to catch at the beginning of the games.
-
I've went with the grass starter in every generation except for II and IV, where I chose Cyndaquil and Oshawott, respectively.
-
Except you don't get Oshawott in Gen IV :P
I take it you meant Gen V ;)
-
I choose fire type for every gen except V which i chose snivy.
-
Definitely water/steel
-
My two favorites would have to be fire/fight or water/ground. If a water/ground pokemon has: icebeam(or blizzard) surf( or muddywater) earthquake, and a speed up move, it would be (almost) undefeatable.
-
i choose fire/fight because it blaziken types

I'm probally pick water/steel just for the mean time.
