Trainers Lounge / Re: do you always let your pokemon evolve?
« on: July 26, 2011, 06:51:28 PM »
Some Pokemon I do, some I don't. When I'm playing my Platinum (which I know is ANCIENT now), I usually deter their evolution for a few levels or so to see if they learn any moves. Besides, there are some Pokemon that can only learn moves in their pre-evolved form. I remember I was playing a new game and I didn't let any of my Pokemon evolve until I started going up against Maylene and Crasher Wake.

Quests & Plots / Quest Idea I
« on: April 24, 2011, 06:17:00 PM »
This one is my idea! Probably lame though...ah well  :)

Ok, so you are in a village when a man screams his daughter is missing. The village elder comes out and says that this is troubling news. He (it could be a girl but I will refer to the elder as a male) insists that she was last seen around a cave. (I'm thinking the cave's name should be Whisper Cave, because the wind sounds like whispering around it, but I'm not on the team.) He thinks that you should go investigate. Then he gives you a charm that allows you to understand Pokemon (only in general senses, of course.) In the cave, you find a scared little Jigglypuff. You get the fact that its Trainer, Lyssa (again, changeable name), was taken away by a Salamence. It will then ask to go with you. If you don't have room, you can't go on. It should say, "Is it fair to leave that poor Jigglypuff alone?" It refuses to battle for you though, so basically it's just taking up space in your party (but this detail can be thought about though.) Halfway into the cave, you find a note. It says, "If you find this, be warned, person. The Salamence is really tough!" It's signed by Lyssa. At the end of the cave, you find Lyssa forced into a corner by Salamence. You battle it, and you can capture it or not. This quest can end 3 different ways, I think:
Option 1: You capture Salamence and help Lyssa. You give her back Jigglypuff. She says, "Oh, thank you, Trainer! Your name is...<trainername>? Ok then! I was exploring this cave when I was attacked by that Salamence. Apparently I disturbed its home. I should be more careful. Here, take these!" Reward: One of each evolutionary stone (Thunder, Water, Leaf, Fire, Moon, Dawn, Shiny, Dusk) "I can't thank you enough for helping me!" she says. Later, in the village, you find out Lyssa is the elder's grand-daughter. The elder lets you keep the charm, which allows you to communicate with your Pokemon. Like, your Pokemon might say, "<Trainername>, I'm really hungry. Let's stop and rest soon."
Option 2: Same as 1, except instead of capturing the Salamence (you defeat it instead), you get the message, "Salamence is very tired now...it doesn't look like it has strength to go on." Then it faints and collapses on the ground. Everything else is identical to 1. (You get the stones and keep the charm.)
Option 3: All your Pokemon fainted while battling Salamence. But, unlike other defeats, you don't lose money and return to the Pokemon Center. Lyssa recovers from her fright, battles the Salamence, and manages to capture it. She turns to you, and you give her back her Jigglypuff. "Thank you Trainer. Your name is...<trainername>? Ok! I accidentally disturbed this Salamence's nest, and I couldn't capture it because I couldn't get my Pokemon out. Thank you for helping me!" Then she gives you five evolutionary stones (Water, Fire, Thunder, Leaf, Moon). The elder still lets you keep the charm.

That's my quest. I'm sorry if you think it's bad. But this is my idea! Please no negative comments, I already know it's not that good. Suggestions are ok though...in fact, I'd like to make this better...

Trainers Lounge / Re: What Are Your Goals On Pokemon Universe?

My goals on the regular Pokemon games is to beat the plot then try and get other Pokemon to fill my Pokedex. I also like kicking bad guy butt  :)

All my friends evolve their Pokemon. I tend not to do that. Take Shinx for example. It learns Thunder Fang WAAAAAY earlier than Luxio or Luxray do. I speak from xperience.

I also think that evolving your Pokemon may be odd if you don't know what types it'll evolve into. Like, a Grotle (only grass type) evolves into Torterra (grass-ground type). That makes the effectiveness of Ice-type moves 4x instead of 2x.

Ideas & Suggestions / Re: Gym battles
« on: January 14, 2011, 11:34:15 PM »
It's time for another one of Azaeliaz's probably-already-suggested ideas!

What if the game randomly chose a gym for you? Like, all the gyms would look the same, but when you go in, you get one out of a lot of gyms. When you first go in, you can heal Pokemon and switch them around and stuff. Then you go in and battle the junior trainers and the gym leader. You can exit the gym but when you do the gym randomly switches to a different gym, so you have to have a good stock of items 'cause you can't just go out and heal. I also think that the colour scheme should be plain so you can't guess the type.

I'm still a noob so my ideas probably suck/have been suggested before. I'm sorry if I repeated an already said idea!

Game Features / Re: Pink slips

Yes, reporting is a good thing. But remember to get their username before they battle, because if they lose and exit out of their browser it may be hard to get their name otherwise.

But still, if people are really mature, they will agree to guide lines and stick to them. They are hurting the game by just walking away.

Game Features / Ideas for Features
« on: December 28, 2010, 03:04:14 AM »
I am an avid Pokemon fan. I'd like to see an mmorpg that's not just "Click me and see and see what happens!" kind of game. So I have some ideas.
1. Trading pokemon, more than one at a time. Trading is a huge part, and if you could trade more than one at a time that would be awesome. No more having to spend twenty minutes trading all your shiny Bulbasaurs for your friend's shiny Cyndaquils! And if you want to give your friend three Nidorans for their shiny Nidoran, you won't have to have them give you generally weak Pokemon.
2. Make it easy to navigate with different movement types, like click&hold, WASD, or arrow keys. Just "Click to go there" isn't very fun.
3. DON'T let people CHOOSE to fight or not. Battles are big, and if you have to choose to battle, you could probably get to the end of the Pokemon League and deposit your Pokemon without battling. And wild Pokemon may be frustrating, but they're part of training (that's what REPELS are for).
And 4. Some of the things available in the games may be fun here too, like Super Contests, PokeBlock/Poffin making, the underground mines, etc.
I think these would make Pokemon Universe awesome!
