Games / Re: What's you LEAST favorite Gym is any Pokemon game?
« on: January 24, 2012, 04:36:10 PM »
Mahogany Town gym...ice skating is the worst.

And why would anyone hate that Jasmine didn't have any trainers to battle in her gym? Aside from the extra experience it gives, I hated having to battle 4 or 5 trainers before the gym leader. Sometimes I think the gym leaders themselves couldn't even go through 5 trainers and then battle me, so why should I have to? But to be honest, I don't know about S/G/C because its been so long, but HG/SS is sooo unbalanced. I used some AR codes just to balance out my team and I still got my butt kicked by Clair.

Someone probably already said this, but I'm not reading 19 pages for a quick reply :P

I hate when you battle a trainer with excessive amounts of the same Pokemon. I don't need to battle 6 Metapods to know I've won. Same thing with Magikarps, but not just useless Pokemon. When you fight Team Rocket in SGC/HG/SS, one of the executives has 6 Koffings, which all of the grunts had as well. It got old fast.

people dont think that far ahead...

Eheh... yeah, sometimes I have a bad habit with that.... ^ ^;; Overthinking, I mean...

but if u remenber that pokemon Movie with Lucario and Mew, you will remenber that Lucario lived on a past that included kingdom and using pokemon to battle between kingdoms, so a game like this wouldnt be a surprise
Oh yeah, huh.... :| I was still quite mad at the people for that too though... Then again, even in the games Pokemon have been used in war, like with the Lightning American--but it seems people fought there too...

I think its only appropriate that these things exist. Of course Pokemon would be used in battles for centuries, and hey, that includes wars. I guess the thought of Pokemon killing people and vice versa is pretty disturbing, but in a realistic aspect, yeah, it happens. I mean hey, even in Pokemon RGB, Blue asks Red if he's ever had a Pokemon die, and no longer has a Raticate, which pretty much implies that Red killed it on the St. Anne. The only thing missing is the crazy PETA groups that would exist in the Pokemon world...

That reminds me of nurse Joy's gaint magikarp friend from the orange island series. It was huge, but when it evolved it became a normal sized Gyarados,

What if it was still huge but thats just the normal size for a Gyarados? ;)

Well to dodo100, those Pokemon were electronic. They were part of a theme park owned by Giovanni.

On the topic of ancient Pokemon, yeah, they never really touched on it much. The history of the Pokemon world interests me because they tend to change/add to it so much that it kind of conflicts with itself. Personally, I think there's just way too many legendary Pokemon and to say that Professor Oak actually stated that only 150 Pokemon existed at one point is laughable considering how many there actually are. But I digress.

To Reafer, yes, it definitely could be. For one, the Haunter in that manga edition was so huge because it had lived for thousands of years, and I've read before that Magikarp were once larger and more powerful but something caused them to be pretty much useless at some point. So yes, Pokemon were definitely stronger and probably larger in ancient times.

In the manga, he is called red. That is all.

Actually in "The Electric Tale of Pikachu" Manga, his name is Satoshi/Ash Ketchum, just like in the anime. Most of the characters retain their names from the anime, but are a lot more bad ass than their anime counterparts.

I like when they talk about ancient Pokemon times. That giant Haunter was called "Black Fog" in the manga and was apparently so old that it lived in ancient times when man treated Pokemon like gods, and it was arrogant because of this. It terrorized Saffron City and Sabrina until Ash battled it, weakened it enough to be caught, but then it committed suicide with self destruct. Good stuff.

So I was thinking about old Pokemon episodes the other day and I remembered the giant Dragonite in "Mystery of the Lighthouse". A lot of people just brushed this off as the anime not being sure whether or not Dragonite was legendary at the time, sort of like Lucario, so they made him gigantic and unknown but then later introduced him as normal sized and quite known. But here's the thing, Dragonite is not the only giant Pokemon. Now I knew this, but I didn't realize just how many giant or "above average" Pokemon have appeared in the anime. I myself remembered the giant Tentacruel at Hatoba Port, Gary's giant Krabby and Bruno's giant Onix, but then I looked it up and there's apparently a ton of these things.

http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Giant_Pok%C3%A9mon There's about 22 Pokemon listed that are classified as "giant" because they're way above average. It also mentions that in "Hey You, Pikachu!" you could catch giant fish Pokemon and then... well, then there's this from one of the mangas:

If that's not the scariest thing ever ... I mean come on...

What do you think? I mean could you imagine the destruction that giant Dragonite could cause? The thing collapsed a cliff with the swipe of it's damn tail...

One question, were do you if your exiled?

I would imagine back to your home region, assuming there are no native Miryuns yet.

PCIP is legit? Lol, if they're really going to record all internet activity I can't wait to see how Anonymous reacts ;D. But seriously, that's a blatant invasion of privacy. However, the Constitution hasn't been so great on reserving our right to privacy. Could go against the 1st, 4th, and possibly the 5th amendments, but I'm not certain.

I'm really liking this idea. I think having it do-able after obtaining the 5th badge is nice as it's not too soon yet not too far into the game. Well done, and I especially like that we can get new outfits through quests.

The government doesn't need SOPA. It can still do what SOPA was meant for, but at a much slower rate.

Yes, and thats the point of the continuing efforts. It can still be sneakily added in chunks to other pieces of legislation, which is why the fight is not over. But side note, I just seen a report on the news about Anonymous and their threats and well...its so weird, I'm used to Anonymous just being a popular internet meme and YouTube presence but now they're making national headlines. Hats off to those guys man.
