Ok, so I figured I'd try my hand at vectoring some pokemon to help out with the game. I'll post any final vectors here for critique. I strongly encourage you leave me feedback so these can look good!
A good critique would be: "I don't like his head. The shape is off somehow. I think if you smooth out his left cheek, it will help this." A bad critique would be: "This looks bad. Fix it." I will be ignoring bad critiques and suggesting those who leave them no longer comment. Sorry to be so mean about it, but a lot of people that say they don't like it don't suggest how to fix it!
I'll also be taking requests! ;)

Lol! Thank you! Should be a little bit better now. I updated with some shading and line arts. Hoping to do more either tonight or tomorrow morning. :]

Don't forget that the whiskers (or whatever they are supposed to be) on top of Meoth's head are both in front of it's ears, but I'm sure that's just because it's still in it's developing stage. Anyways, my Arcanine would already be able to identify it as "prey". If I can request a Pokémon after Pikachu, I'd say Nidoking. :P

Lol, thank you, genbor. I'm glad he's recognizable. :] But yeah, I know the whiskers go on top, but i have both ears on one layer and have been too lazy to fix it. x3 I'll probably work on the ears next, so that shouldn't be a problem for too much longer.
Also, added Nidoking to the list. :D

Quick update on the meowth. Shading is done, and I started on the lines. It looks a little off to me, so I would love some feedback! :]

Well you just have to get rid of the blob that's supposed to be the end of his tail, and patch his bleeding feet, otherwise once you start on the lines it should look better :)

I know meowth's tail curls. :P This is all shading no lines, the blob will look like a curl with lines, promise. As for the red parts, I'm actually not sure what to do with that part. It's supposed to be the underside of his foot, where the pads of his feet are. I'll post two versions once I do lines. One version with pads and one version without and let y'all decide if they should stay.

A note on the pads: I think they should stay, just change them to a different colour. Meowth has pink pads on the bottom of his feet, not bright red.

Also, move the pad on the right some more to the left until it gets right underneath the 'bright spot'.

I changed the color of the pads to a much lighter pink and moved everything over, as Jerry suggested. Posting an updated picture in a moment. Still no new line work though. x3
Also updated the requested next list from what people suggested in IRC.

Its supposed to be curled in, but I was having some trouble conveying that. :/
I think I'll experiment on that arm a little more before I move on to pikachu.

Well, I knew it was trying to curve, but a little more experiment can't hurt him. (unless you start sticking into him some unbreakable metal than come out as claws)

It seems a little shading is off upon the tail.

You should add the little line that Jerry had on the troublesome arm, which would locate the joint, and it would be easier to see it curving.

I don't know how to make them any fiercer, Kamaran, short of changing their whole design :/ Doesn't meowth look like its attacking? What else can I do to fix it? D: And I'm sorry he's a zombie! I took the colors straight from Ken Sugimori's art. D:

Last update on Meowth! I will not be adding or changing anything else. Y'all can decide if you like it better with claws or without, but its taking too long for one pokemon! I need to move on.
Pikachu is next. Hopefully I can have an update for y'all tonight.

I know he looks kinda wonky, but hopefully when I add some shading and lines it'll look much better. How about the pose though? Think its good enough? D: Anything I should change now, in the early stages, any color correction?

the design from pikachu is good, now it just needs some lining, shading etc (where are the black parts from his ears/his nails?). The yellow needs to be a bit darker though, and the brown on his tail/back needs to be a bit darker too. But that is just when I compare him next to the series (nitpicks). You're really good at this. Keep on the good work.

The reason it probably all looks lighter is because I've been using Ken Sugimori's official artwork for my color pallettes instead of the sprites or the anime. This can easily be changed though. :]
The black parts will also be added. Was planning on it. xD

I suggest you move his left red cheek thingy more inwards, then smooth out the bulge straight.

i liked eevee and meowth but pikachu is not as good as meowth and eevee were.

He looks pretty good... Maybe I should let Pikachu join the GENBOR4LIFE organization as a foot soldier. Since we need a lot of those.
PS: Make his electricity generators on his cheek a bit more red?

Alrighty. Updated Pikachu. I took everything y'all said into consideration and I hope this version is much improved! I also put a notice up about critiques. I LOVE getting critique, but just posting: "I don't like it" Is not going to make it better. :/

This is actually very helpful. :]
I'll prolly do that. Other things mentioned in IRC were, reworking the shadows, making the black ears smaller, and moving the stripes closer to the head. :]

Light source is top left and a little in frontish... The shadows should be ok. Except for the rear leg. I need to fix that. You and Alais need to make up your minds. :P She's the one who wanted me to change all of the original shadows back to two colors and rework them completely, and now you're saying you like the old ones more. I'll try to find some kind of happy medium.
Also, I know its missing lines. I didn't put half of them because there's no point in me putting all the lines if I'm still going to be editing.

Okay, better! :)
Now maybe make the two brown strips at its back a little sharper.
The tail still looks strange for me... maybe try a lighter tone and make the shadow stop a little lower than that (and ends in a curve instead of zigzag).
Since the lightsource is topleft and a little from the front, maybe elongate the shadow on the rear foot (a little like in Silver's, but don't make it as thin as it is there, the thickness is just good.

Alright. So I can see color becoming a bigger issue with Nidoking than the previous pokemon, so I'm putting this here for y'all to decide.
There are three possibilities for the color scheme:
Ken Sugimori (which I've been using for the others)

Hope you got better :). Okay so I'll start with the pose. I think it's safe to say that that pose is overused. I suggest to make him pick up the Thinker poser. In the end it's your choice anyways. 8)

Well, it was hard to come up with a pose for Nidoking that was original! I would do something more reserved, but Kamaran insists that they look fierce and many people want them to look badass. Again, kinda hard to come up with an original pose for that for Nidoking. :/
I'm open to suggestions for a more "fierce" pose though. 8D

Oke.. so fierce..
How about Nidoking gets into a launching pose (same pose that sprinters use) ready to run at someone. His head is turned a bit sideways towards the viewer so there is a shadow across his face that isn't looking back at you. His one eye that is showing is pissed off (where the veins are showing in his eyes).

Something like this? I know this isn't the exact pose you were talking about, but it has to be going towards the viewer or at least looking at the viewer like most other game sprites. This sketch fierce enough though?

I like the first pose, it looks pretty good to me. And as far as Silver's suggestion, it's not bad either but it looks like someone threw a rock at him and he is pissed now. Well it's up to you to decide in the end, but I vote for picture #1.
