This will serve as the in-site OOC for the RP The Second World. In this first post, locations and main story lore will be posted. Anyone can post here, as long as it is related to the RP in some way. If there are any off site RP progressions, (such as through Skype), then the chat logs will be posted here as well.

Other Roleplay / [Profiles] The Second World
« on: January 08, 2015, 06:38:59 PM »
You take the role of one of the heroes, chosen to prevent the destruction of both worlds. Despite there being two worlds to explore, your character remains the same. Below is the skeleton for this character. If you have any questions about the Profile or feel you are ready to submit yours, then PM me.

   Character Profile
Username: Your PU username. Include your Skype name so I may more easily reach you.
Name: The name of your character.
Race: What race your character hails from. These include Humans, Elves, Orcs, Dwarves, and Beastlikes. Each has their own advantages and disadvantages. Choose wisely.
Age: How old your character is. It is recommended that your character is not too old and not too young. Somewhere between the ages of ten and twenty five is most likely suitable.
Personality: How your character acts around others or on their own, what kind of traits they have, and most importantly, what qualities within themselves that govern their decisions.
Bio: Who your character is within the World of Man. Provide a brief (no more than three paragraphs) description of how your character grew up. If you wish to be the son/daughter of someone of a certain profession, then say so! If you wish to be educated or not, tell us! REMEMBER, the World of Man can still be considered to be within its Medieval Era, so tailor your character accordingly. And don’t make anything too tragic please. We are heroes of innocence.
Appearance: How your character looks. Describe primarily facial features, (eye/hair/skin color, any details about hair/nose/mouth/ears/etc., height and overall build of your character, and any features that may stick out such as scars or marks upon the body), of your character. You may provide a picture for better reference if you wish.

   Racial Bonuses
Human: Humans are what you would think: normal people with five fingers on each hand and five toes on each foot. They live the normal life of producing and growing. Being what they are, Humans are a strong peoples. They are also very good at crafts, as in smithing and weaving.
Elf: With their pointed ears, tinted skin and skinny figures, Elves are what humans would look like if they were more in touch with nature. Elves live the high life, communing with nature and easing their way through the winds of life. Light on their feet, Elves are much stealthier than the other races. They are also the more diplomatic of the races.
Orc: Orcs are a butchered and violent version of what you might get as the result of a cross between humans and elves. Their lifestyle is a tribal one, where the strongest have the highest status. Being what they are, Orcs are a strong peoples. Orcs are much more resilient than the other races.
Dwarf: If you fused a human with stone, you would get a Dwarf; being surrounded by stones for the duration of their lives, Dwarves are stout and stubborn. They don't have long educations, and more often than not begin some form of work early in life. Dwarves are much more resilient than the other races. They are also very good at crafts, as in smithing and weaving.
Beast: Beastlikes are humans that attempted to join the elves, but nature captured their hearts a little too well. Beast-likes don't have very sophisticated societies, but rather are hunter gatherers, like prides of lions. Being what they are, Beastlikes are a strong peoples. Subject to their senses, Beastlikes are much stealthier than the other races.
Half-Elf - As their name implies, half-elves are born from a human and an elf. Having no homeland, they are flexible in living and rarely judge solely on first impressions. They are natural in the trade of craft and have an affinity for being diplomatic.

   Things that are not allowed:
- Any character from any TV series, cartoon, movie, or manga/book. Your character should be entirely original.
- Any sort of high status for your character, (king/queen, war-chief, high priest, any sort of god). This makes your character a little over-powered.
- Any sort of abilities or weapons. These will be decided throughout the course of the story, and will be made fair to everyone.
- In depth character story. Remember, you are crafting the legend of your hero as the story progresses. Each character will evolve from the normal person they begin as to a true hero, (or villain), to both worlds as time progresses. Do not rush this process. Do not attempt to make it seem like your hero was chosen for any more reason than was already given. You will have plenty of time to develop your character as time progresses.

      Story
Unbeknownst to man, there is another world very similarly developed to the one they live on, one that exists on another plane of reality. The same plants and ecosystems, animals and beasts, and beings all inhabit this world. The difference between the two is magic; The World of Magic is special in that something within its core allows those tested by trials to govern the unseen and cast spells of wonder. This difference actually allows many small differences between the two worlds to emerge; where many people in the World of Man work every day to eat, many in the World of Magic grow crops in one day that last weeks.

This World of Magic and the World of Man are destined to collide through means that must be stopped. A deity from the World of Magic has chosen heroes of innocence from the World of Man and transplanted their consciousness’s into its own in an attempt to save both planets from destruction. These few heroes will lead a quest through both worlds to save them. This quest begins as a regular day; it is not until night falls and our heroes fall subject to weariness that the real adventure begins.

Your character is one of these heroes. During the day, you are your regular self, doing regular things in the World of Man. Once you fall asleep, however, you are transported to the World of Magic, and you must continue your quest to save both worlds. Remember, you are crafting the legend of your hero as the story progresses. Each character will evolve from the normal person they begin as to a true hero, (or villain), to both worlds as time progresses. Do not rush this process. Do not attempt to make it seem like your hero was chosen for any more reason than was already given. You will have plenty of time to develop your character, so don’t pour too much into your character all at one time.

      Rules
- No God-modding. You may be a hero, but you are not a god. Don’t do anything that’s overpowered, and don’t do anything to or using someone else’s character unless they give you permission. Be fair in your acts.
- Unless your character is uneducated or you want them to seem that way, then please use proper spelling and grammar.
- All posts should be at least a paragraph (five plus sentences) but none should be more than four, excluding GM/Story posts. If you need or want to, at least ask first. Sometimes too much is just too much.
- Most discussion will take place on a Skype chat. On the same topic, some nights will be used as a Progress Night, where everyone will get on Skype and advance the story. An OOC will still be made to list chat logs of these nights, and progress will be posted the next day in the main RP thread in the form of a GM/Story Post. (Possibly)

Well, then check out this thread on Reddit:

If it doesn't look too complicated, let me know and we can set up a time and a MAC address for everyone who wants it to share it over

You've both got me added, and I'm online right now if you're able

EDIT: I'll probably be online for quite a few hours after now, and if it doesn't work from just being online and connecting then we might have to Homepass together

I really like Link and Toon Link, (my old mains), and I'd like to do more with Shulk but his moves just seem too linear, not wide enough.

I've unlocked: Wario, Ganondorf (beat Classic With Link on 7.0 up), Falco, Jigglypuff, ROB, Dr Mario (beat Classic with Mario on 5.0 up), Dark Pit, and Lucina (beat Classic with Marth). Not sure how to get Bowser Jr or Duck Hunt, or how I got the others.

EDIT: Realized while unlocking Lucina that Marth is really good

I REALLY hope they keep the ability to catch rayquaza in both games (since they've already announced that they WOULD NOT be remaking emerald version).

Where did they announce that they would for sure not remake Emerald? This is the first I've heard of that, anywhere, and there's nothing online about any announcement of the sort.

There certainly is possibility for it. I did some reading across some sites, and one forum-goer stated that while the remakes of Gen I and Gen II incorporated the additions that the third games had, (for example, anything that Blue or Crystal had was added to FRLG and HGSS respectively), and in these two Gen's, you could catch all of the legendaries in either game, (specifically Lugia and Ho-Oh, catching the namesake of the game first and the remaining one later in the game).

However, with Ruby/Sapphire, you could only catch the namesake of the game, and Rayquaza later, at Sky Tower. Sure, if GameFreak wanted to, they could copy Gen II and place the remaining legendary wherever they're normally found for more postgame content, but there is still the possibility of Emerald being remade to re-enable the ability to catch all three of the weather trio.

Anyways, I'm definitely going for AS. Sapphire was my first Pokemon game, and I would love to play through again with renewed enjoyment, (not that I don't enjoy playing Pokemon anymore, it's just that the first time is always so much more special). Can't wait to get the old team back together.

You have to remember that we already have some Mega-Evolutions for Gen 3, and that it seems that each gen is only going to get a handful of Mega-Evols. There's already Gardevoir, Mawile, Aggron, Medicham, Manectric, Banette, and Absol Mega-Evols, so we can only expect so many more.

Personally, I would like to see Metagross and Salamence, but other nice candidates would be Sharpedo, Camerupt, Shiftry, Breloom, Walrein, Slaking, and Exploud.

I really like the story, and like Toast said the only thing I see wrong is the requirements but those can be tweaked. Really nice  :D
