This thread is to Discuss Minecraft, the sandbox game in which players survive by making a shelter out of resources found in-game.

FINALLY!! More people who play minecraft. Where I live, no one plays it. I've only gotten one of my friends to try it.

And I hear you, Monzta. But what happens to me is that I either can't find the server, or the auto ban thing gets me for CLEANING UP AFTER GRIEFERS!!! God, I hate them.

Well, half the team plays Minecraft alpha, and a whole lot from the community.

Well, now it's beta. But that's awesome! I'm still trying to figure out exactly what I want in an online server. Because I don't know if I want people killing me when I'm building. But PVP does sound cool. Any suggestions?

Are you thinking of somekind of PvP server, where two opposite teams have a goal of destroying the other teams flag? (In this case a block).

Each team has a base nearby - made by themselves - and the other team must infiltrate and destroy the 'flag' without dieing themself.

With all the possible traps available, this could happen.

I tried it out. It's pretty cool, but not all of the 1.8 stuff was in it. What I did see though was amazing. Thanks, Ez!

Yea it's a pre release leak but when the game comes out monday all the stuff you got from the pre release stays on your save so you get a head start

it's buggy because pre release but if you dig really deep underground you can find huge tunnels and minecart systems it's awesome

I'm trying to set up a server, but it's difficult. I can figure out how to make it and connect with my computer, but I can't figure it out with other computers.

my friend plays that game 25/7 and its only 24 hours in a day..... i think its the most lame and pointless game i've ever seen tho i think the vidoes ppl make based on the game are excellent like the creeper video or the one where the two ppl are trapped on an island

People who lack creativity and imagination often tend to think that way. Try thinking of it as a grownup Lego.

i would play it if gravity worked...for something other than sand

I have so many remarks about these, but I'm sure they wouldn't be appropriate so I'll just keep them to myself.

Ever played Lego? Well think of Minecraft as Lego gone Big. You can build whatever you want, and have it be more interactive than just building something nice out of Lego. For those who love designing and toying around with new creatings: Minecraft is for them. I hope I made it clear now.

In lego you can only build things where all the blocks are touching, in Minecraft you can build what ever you want. even if it defies the laws of gravity.

Post by: Shadowfred on October 28, 2011, 01:36:23 AM
You can only build on blocks in Minecraft. You can get rid of the ones they're touching afterwards, but you still need something to start off.

No, you're still right Fox, you can EVENTUALLY build up to something that defies gravity.

I might be able to tell you, where can i get this mod?

If you find the mod, they generally explain how to install it. Some require other mods, some require editing base files.

Aright, so I have a question about setting up servers. I know everything about making the server and making worlds and all that, but what do I do to give the server an IP that people can connect to?

I imagine this is probably the wrong place to ask, but I just thought I'd try.

I started playing around 1.1
I have seen many changes since then, but I never expected a release on the 360. I can't wait.
