Art Work / Re: Looking for Clips...
« on: September 11, 2010, 12:35:05 AM »
I looked, mind you, only for about a minute at the most...and this was the best I could find.

It's not much, but I hope this is enough, as I am too lazy to keep searching.

?

There's nothing there... if you meant to put in a link, it didn't work ><

But thank you for looking... I've searched around a bit, but I'm not getting anything usable yet.

Art Work / Looking for Clips...
« on: September 09, 2010, 08:45:48 PM »
I searched and couldn't find any topic/post already showing this... So I apologize if I'm posting this here; and there is another that topic this should go in.

But I'm looking to do a collage of clips and pictures of a Pokemon. I would prefer to do Eevee or one of its evolutions, but I don't recall how often they would appear in the shows/movies.

So what I need to know:

Is there anywhere I can go to get clips, screen shots or pictures of Pokemon from the movies or the shows??

I'd like to give it a shot, I've done Picture Collages before ((Creating a scene or portrait from multiple unique clips and images)) but I'd like to try this and post it... Maybe I should start with Pikachu, since it's so often shown in anything Pokemon related.

Thanks

Nice, very nice.

I still have no idea who he's supposed to be, or she, I suppose. It doesn't matter though, it seems like a person I'd like to hear more about.

If there's more (or you think of more) definitely get it up here. We'll be thankful.

I figured it out!!

He made a POKEBALL!!!

He's going to catch the Evil lord! Roll Credits!

Oooookay... Now that I got that out of my system, I wanted you to know that I love it.

It was hard for me to read at first (the lengthy sentences are always bad for me) so I had to read it three times, and I never stopped liking it.

I get a nice feel for the vendetta Duthar has, and why (without any dialogue or monologue!) and I am hoping you'll find the time to finish the next part soon. I know it's been a little while since you posted it, but I enjoyed it, well done.

Good Call.

And I appreciate the fact that you used Third Person Omnipotent. It makes it an easier read for me... The only thing I think would help make it a little easier is to space out the Dialogue (with double spacing). It just makes it easier to keep in mind who is speaking.

No...

All the people I know (and I have pretty much no knowledge of Anime or Manga of any kind) wouldn't fit in it... The being able to survive in space thing is throwing me off as well...

So I don't recognize anything that would spark anything in my memory...

Hint??

Please??

Nicely done... I hope there is much more of this story to come.

If you want a handy tool to check word usage and act as a thesaurus, check out "Visual Thesaurus" a program... Well, a program that connects synonyms and antonyms in a visual net. I do recall a Freeware version out there, but my version was paid for... I use it nearly every day.

Also a small thing to edit:
(Fourth Paragraph, 3rd Sentence)

"She further told me that there were millions in the
universe
like those in the universe, but only a few were safe to live on. "

Should drop the first "in the universe" to make it work better.

That's all! I like what you've done with it.

Nice work!

As Declan said, it'd really detract from the overall mood and validity of the story to introduce pokemon into it.

I like a little bit of a mystery, or rather something that I can figure out through the story and find out if I'm right or wrong about later on.

(That's what makes me keep going back to Authors like Steven Erikson, Robert Jordan, Brandon Sanderson and Brent Weeks...)

Throw a little in with this and you'll have a very strong story, even if all we get are small blocks of it at a time.

Keep it up! We want to see the next part as soon as you can!

Hey, I don't usually post in the 'Hi, I'm new' threads, but I'm bored :P
So hi!
Don't do drugs kids.
Meh... you didn't say hi for ME...

Anyway, haithar Paka. We have cookies, Spirit is an alchaholic, and Mr_Dark is essentially a very active god. Me, of course, being the Evil Overlord. Crossing me is grounds for insta-death.

Unless of course you happen to have ketchup and an appetite... ;D

Me? No, not me...

Hi there Paka! If you need anything feel free to post up a storm, everyone here's been pretty helpful!

Just a disclaimer, I haven't edited this, so there may be a few errors, it's mildly long (for a post on PU), and has the occasional humor that you may not understand without visual aid.

Click ME, I'm Special!

Just mildly long???

Holy monkey on a stick!

Give me a little time, I need to reformat it to read it more easily, I read it entirely just a minute ago, and I get the humor for the most part, but there's a little that zooms over my head. I've only ever written one script, and I didn't like it enough to keep it, but the formatting on it is a severe pain, so I can get why you didn't do it, haha!

Will let you know when I'm done (^.^)

Ideas & Suggestions / Re: Elemental Punches
« on: September 09, 2010, 03:29:28 AM »
Gold, you have a point, but it's not necessarily pertinet to this subject. We're talking about natural forces; Not technology...

Liquid Nitrogen is a far cry from an Icy Wind. As such, a Flamethrower is vastly different than a simple flame ember. This carries on to a Fire Punch or an Icy Punch.

But that's not really the point. The power of the Element comes from within the Pokemon, not from without.

While it -is- possible to freeze something that has just been set on fire, and the other way around. It still isn't all that logical, or reasonable, to think that a pokemon, can jump from one extreme to the extreme opposite... You'd think that they couldn't flip between said extremes without at least a decent time to concentrate, recover and then act.

I'm not trying to argue for argument's sake... I just think that it would make more sense to have to choose which way you'd go with your Fighting Pokemon... To specialize in Fire punches, and thus deal more damage with them and not be able to use Icy Punch... Or the other way around.

It would also add more variety to the game, and more strategy... Sure, in the cartridge games you can decide which moves to keep... But you should also be able to choose which way to specialize your Fighter to work with the above idea... Or that should already be decided when you catch them.... They could have an... Affinity for either Fire... Thunder... Ice... Etc.

I'm not too worried either way... I'm not a big fan of Fighter Pokemon personally... I just figured I'd offer my Two Cents' worth. (Or Pence if you prefer.) Perhaps if nothing else I can spark an idea that works for the PU team even if it's something to counter my idea.

Haha! I know exactly how you feel...

I don't think I've posted my works-in-progress anywhere online, for any reason at all until after I can meet Copyright laws in the States. And that's not too terribly hard after it's fully written (before editing and even before the first read-through).

I wouldn't want anybody to send me/post anything if they're not comfortable with it! So no worries...

But good luck!

Nice idea.

I do think that the "opposing types" should be taken a step further though...

Why should someone be able to use opposing elemental punches? (ie, being able to use Fire and Ice in the same battle) Even a true fighting pokemon?

Wouldn't you have an issue trying to freeze something after you just hit something else with a fire punch?

I mean... My ice cream scoop doesn't even get really cold after heating it with scalding water and then scooping 3 scoops of my super awesome Strawberry Ice cream!

And that's a pretty far cry from Fire and Ice...

Nobody mentioned it yet, so I figured I would...

Fact: Jolteon is the only Eevee Evolution that doesn't have a tail...

Anybody know what happened to it???

Hello there!

I wasn't exactly sure where to post this, as there isn't a specific Forum board set up for this sort of thing, so I put it here, and hopefully each of you that read this will be content with that choice.

I am a writer, an author really, I have been writing stories for nearly 20 years (yes I'm a bit older than most people here ^^) and have, I've been told, developed quite a talent for it. As a writer, I love to read. I have read a great number of books and stories and have come to appreciate the efforts of a good proof-reader.

So I am offering my assistance to anybody who wishes to write a story, a quest, a series of short stories, and pretty much anything else to do with writing! I will gladly (if you can be patient and deal with my schedule at work) help develop and edit anything you want me to proof-read... I will also gladly assist anybody who wants help with writing out their role play scenario/etc if you are having a hard time putting it into words!

Shoot me a PM if you wish to engage my talents!
