Name: Charizard Number: 6 Type: Fire/Flying Abilities: Blaze, Solar Power Base Stats:78 / 84 / 78 / 109 / 85 / 100 Level Up Move Edits:None Move Tutor Move Edits: Its current learnable Gen V TMs Its current learnable Gen V Tutor Moves ThunderPunch Fire Punch Air Cutter Fury Cutter Headbutt Heat Wave Egg Move Edits: None Example Set BellyZard @ Salac Berry 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 Def Blaze, Jolly - Belly Drum - Substitute - Fire Punch - ThunderPunch Explanation of SetYou need 30 HP for this, no 31 IVs for you. This set is absolutely beastly, now that Stealth Rock isn't around - and it's a damn good reason to pack a Quagsire - who can take this set all day. Priority also beats it if you can take the sub out. When Charizard gets +6 Atk, and < 1/3rd health, it has 4x Damage from Belly Drum, and then its Fire Punch has 1.5x Damage from Blaze, resulting in 6x Damage... Salac allows a sweep, go for it. He can come in on pretty much any boosted attacker, shrug it off, and either Curse if he's a physical variant, or Amnesia if he's specially oriented. While Quagsire is most useful as a physical defender, special variants are absolutely possible. It's up to you to decide how you want to lay Quagsire out. Quagsire with Physical investment and Curse is impossible to take down by the vast majority of Physical attackers - the same with Special attackers on Special Quagsire (when they lack Grass). The mixed sets however are possibly very useful - Curse with a Specially invested Quagsire can become a stupidly effective wall which likely needs to be phazed out, while Amnesia with Defensive investment is the most bulky Quagsire set on average. Name: Scizor Number: 212 Type: Bug / Steel Abilities: Swarm, Technician, Light Metal Base Stats:75 / 115 / 100 / 55 / 80 / 65 Level Up Move Edits:None Move Tutor Move Edits: Its current learnable Gen V TMs Its current learnable Gen V Tutor Moves Superpower Knock Off Bug Bite Egg Move Edits: None Example SetBoost Priority @ Life Orb / Leftovers 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def Technician, Adamant - Bullet Punch - Metal Claw - Pursuit - Bug Bite / U-Turn Explanation of SetWatch out - this guy means business. While his 105 Atk may seem *just* usable compared to his base 130 of old times - Metal Claw takes a resisted hit, and turns it into a +1 Boost to Attack, from a move that has 82 Base Power AND STAB. Once you get one or two of these up, Scizor can start Bullet Punching and Pursuit-ing as needed. Life Orb deals more damage, while Leftovers makes an extended stay more likely. Example SetBanded Priority @ Choice Band 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def Technician, Adamant - Bullet Punch - Rock Smash / Superpower - Pursuit - Bug Bite / U-Turn Explanation of SetYou think Scizor got nerfed? Okay he did... but, it doesn't stop this set from being insanely powerful. It still causes a stupid amount of damage, with STAB'd Priority. A new thing about this set is Rock Smash - Superpower has great damage, but it lowers your attack. Rock Smash not only deals fair damage (with 82 damage from Technician), but, doesn't lower your attack, and drops the Pokemon's Defense - often either forcing them to switch out, or take a much more powerful hit for staying in. You do not want to be on the recieving end of a Technician Rock Smash from a Banded Scizor when you've got -1 Defense. Url of Discussion Topic: http://pokemon-universe.com/index.php/topic,2836.0.html

If you think you can KO with Swift/Charge Beam, go for that. If the opponent is Physically based, chuck them some Specs. If you just need them out of the way, give them a Hypnosis. Once you get rid of your Specs, Persian can really shine. Charge Beam now gives an increase to Special Attack every time - and so, if you can get a couple of those off - you'll be in a position to sweep with Swift. Just watch out for faster leads. Where to start. Start with a Fake Out. Nothing wrong with that. Then, proceed to use Switcheroo or Taunt - either, forcing them to move last for the remainder of the battle - or, stopping them from setting up anything like Spikes or Rain. Also, bring this in after one of your Pokemon dies. Fake Out then Switcheroo for further crippling, or Sucker Punch for revenge. This cat is insane. Example SetCrippling Lead @ Life Orb 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def Prankster, Jolly - Fake Out - Thunder Wave - Sucker Punch - Taunt Explanation of SetThis one is similar to the other set, but, rather than trying to Switcheroo items onto everyone, this Liepard just Thunder Waves. Again and again. Fake Out, then TWave or Taunt, then Sucker Punch your way through the battle. Url of Discussion Topic: http://pokemon-universe.com/index.php/topic,2700.0.html

Pretty standard. Example Set Banded Annoyance @ Choice Band 252 Spe / 252 Atk / 4 HP Frisk, Jolly - Trick - Return - Sucker Punch / Shadow Claw - U-Turn / Brick Break Explanation of SetWith Trick, Furret can become a real pain in the butt - tricking Bands onto walls and Special Attackers - or, Furret can use it itself to boost Return, U-Turn and the likes. Frisk actually helps this set a lot as Furret can see what item it's Tricking for before he does so - and it can effectively Scout the enemy team's sets for you. Example Set Dragon Dance @ Life Orb 252 Spe / 252 Atk / 4 HP Frisk, Jolly - Dragon Dance - Return - Brick Break - Baton Pass / Shadow Claw Explanation of SetFurret switches in, Dragon Dances, then proceeds to hurt everything around it. A lot. The great thing about this set is that, if you need, Furret can Baton Pass its boosts. Has it been knocked around too much to do much else? Baton Pass away to another physical attacker to finish the job. If you don't want to worry with the Baton Passing, Show Claw ensures that Ghosts don't end your sweep. This one allows Venusaur to hit hard, as well as use support options like Sleep Powder, while tanking with Synthesis. Example SetPhysical Attacker @ Black Sludge / Life Orb 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe Overgrow/Chlorophyll, Jolly - Swords Dance - Power Whip / Seed Bomb - Earthquake / Return - Sleep Powder Explanation of SetSwitch Venusaur in on a weak hit - then as your opponent switches out, Sleep Powder their switch in - and get Swords Dance up. After a Swords Dance, Venusaur becomes a whirling fury of vines and other plant matter - capable of denting most Pokemon easily. Earthquake hits Steels, which are likely to try to switch in on Venusaur's sweep, while Return hits Flying and Grass (like Leafeon). Example SetSpecial Attacker @ Life Orb 252 SpA / 4 HP / 252 Spe Overgrow/Chlorophyll, Timid - Leaf Storm / Energy Ball - Sludge Bomb - Hidden Power Fire / Synthesis - Sleep Powder Explanation of SetThis set is a great Special Attacker - capable of hitting all enemies for high damage. Hidden Power Fire is for Steels who don't care about your Sludge Bomb / Energy Ball - but it can be swapped for Synthesis for more survivability. Sleep Powder is Sleep Powder. Use it to force switches, or buy time for Synthesis. Url of Discussion Topic:http://pokemon-universe.com/index.php/topic,2557.0.html

Proceed to hurt everything. Roost. Repeat. Example SetPhysical Attacker @ Life Orb 252 Spe / 252 Atk / 4 HP Intimidate, Jolly - Brave Bird - Drill Run - Double Edge / Return - U-Turn / Roost Explanation of SetSimilar set, but plays very differently. Rather than moving with the intent to wall the opponent, this set moves to come in on a fairly weak move (after Intimidate's damage reduction), then use that opportunity to force the opposing Pokemon out and start doing huge damage with Brave Bird. U-Turn gives you a great momentum carrier so you don't lose the offensive, but Roost can help you a lot with Brave Bird's damage. Just switch in on a weak/resisted hit - and then set up Reflect as the opponent sends in a Physical Attacker to get around your special bulk. Grass and Electric moves still hit somewhat hard, but Blastoise is decently bulky.
