You get chocolate rain, but this time others stay dry and YOU feel the pain.

I wish my glasses allowed me to shoot fireballs out of my eye sockets.

Ideas & Suggestions / Re: An idea that just came to me

actully.... How about letting the pokemons have 2different move-sets? That´s kinda the same thing, but it still limits you to having 6 pokes?

This is a good idea.
actually yes the move-sets idea is good, that probably would be more useful than having an instant switch out in the field
I agree, the move-sets switch option is much more practical and much less drastic than having a 'quick-swap' option for entire teams of Pokemon.
Obviously the idea would need to be fine-tuned and the details ironed out, but I really like the concept.
A few questions come to mind:
  • Would trainers be able to switch between move-sets within battle, or only outside of battle?
  • How much control would trainers have when managing their Pokemons' move-sets? (i.e: When not battling, would it be possible to swap out a move in Moveset1 for another move in Moveset2, from some management interface? Or maybe a feature like this would be accessible by purchasing a single-swap with in-game money...)
A few assumptions come to mind as well:
  • When a Pokemon learns a new move, obviously it will only be able to go into ONE move-set, not both. Which move-set it goes into should be the choice of the trainer.
  • However, you should be able to teach an eligible Pokemon the same TM/HM move in both of its move-sets (provided you have enough of the same TM. And obviously HMs will still be just as difficult to unlearn).
Hmm, that's all that comes to mind right now.
Any thoughts? :)

like maby you would need to fight a certain ammount of a specific pokemon or capture a certain pokemon and get some cash for it.
I can imagine there being quests in the game that use this basic idea, and reward you with currency (amongst other things).

You have a katana from WWII, but it turns out to be made from blue cheese. From WWII. It smells real bad.

I wish I had a nice big unibrow.

I would buy 1 million tacos for 1 million dollars. Now that's a hot deal!

If someone drops their wallet accidentally as they're crossing a busy street, would you brave the steel battleground to retrieve it? And should you survive, would you return it to them or steal it?

Ideas & Suggestions / Re: Advanced Battle Options
« on: April 12, 2010, 08:40:00 AM »
As Zocan said... Remarkable!!

Really well thought out, and seems nicely balanced. Definitely a system I'd love to play with. You've definitely achieved what you set out to do-- The example you used feels much more like a battle from the anime series, which is definitely a feel that the handheld games don't have.

Having said that, I think this would fit more into PU as an alternative battle system and not as the main one. Just seems like the feel of PU is trying to keep true to the feel of the original gameboy games that we all fell in love with, and a similar battle system would be more appropriate. But I would absolutely LOVE to see this idea picked up and implemented in some way. Possibly a frequent special event or somesuch?
Edit: By special event, I was thinking along the lines of a tournament...

I don't really go out of my way to try and "collect 'em all" in the Pokemon games. Is that just me?

I like to see all the different Pokemon I can, and geek out when I come across a rare one (or just one I haven't seen before... I think I'm pretty familiar with most of the first 4 generations now though), but to answer your question if I like a Pokemon (especially if I particularly like its highest evolution) I will train it up, and if necessary use an evolution stone on it. But even if I don't have access to the required evolution stone I will still usually train them up and have some fun.

Trying to think of an example Pokemon...

Can't atm lol.
