It's almost true guys.

We're almost ready to launch a public pre-beta. Hopefully we'll have it up within the end of the week.

Just to put down any speculations;

We said end of the week - that might aswell be saturday or sunday. regretless it might even be monday.

But we do however hope to have it up by thursday/friday so you guys can have a weekend of enjoyment.

Kam said their april fools joke would have something to do with art, so I'm actually 90% expecting to see all the trees replaced with PowerPoke's trees, all the buildings replaced with his buildings, and all the pokemon replaced with midgets.

Don't want to ruin the fun guys, but it's PRE-beta. There are alot more pixel artists/ pixel input needed to speed up an open beta...

Ok ok, sorry, I don't want anybody to suicide so i'll confess that the Mac/linux thing was a joke. HOWEVER, Windows users will have to compile the client.

You will need:
MINGv + GO http://code.google.com/p/gomingw/
SDL
SDL-TTF
SDL-IMG
SDL-TIFF

And the code can be found here: http://code.google.com/p/pokemon-universe/source/checkout

I think the game should have new pokemon and customizable characters and pokemon creation places in pokemon centers and choosing rivals in my honest opinion on it.I hope you add it.

And it would take them forever to make this game if they did all of that. First, they don't have enough pixel artists. And Second, the game has taken almost three years(I think) to get to this point. And they're using the original pokemon. So if they made new pokemon, they would need to come up with new ideas for new pokemon, and 120-150 pokemon sprites. It only takes Gamefreak and Nintendo about a year to make their pokemon games, but this is an MMO, with a new region, and other new and awesome stuff. So if they made new pokemon, this game would take forever to get done, and it would take even longer if they added a thing where people could create their own pokemon.

Your old char is not available at this point.

and no, they will not follow you. (we cutted that out for testing reasons)
