Title: [RP] Ender's Game

After finishing Ender's Shadow not too long ago, I decided that the Battle School would make a great RP. The only problem I saw was that not many people may join. There is only one way to test that out, so here goes. (Even if you haven't read Ender's Game, if you read this you might catch on)

Rules:
-Please follow all the global RP rules
-Don't make yourself too good, or advance too fast
-No godmodding! I can't stress this enough.
-Be realistic


Story:
The Buggers have launched two invasions on Earth. Now is our time to retaliate. The I.F (International Fleet) Have sent a fleet to the Bugger's World, now it is five years later, and the I.F is looking for the commanders of this fleet. In about five years, the human fleet will reach the Bugger's world. Brilliant children from all over the world are being taken to what is know as battle school. A large, floating building in outer space, it is the first school the children go to to becoming commanders. The main focus of battle school is the battle room, a zero-gravity box where two armies of 40 kids hold mock battles. Located in the room are what are know as stars. Stars are boxes that float in the middle of the room, adding more strategy to the game. In order to win, one army must have four soldiers press their heads against the corners of the other teams gate, or entryway. Another soldier must pass through. This ends the battle. The Children wear suits that freeze when hit by a beam from one of the guns. When frozen, a soldier cannot move that part of their body until the end of the battle. If completely frozen, a soldier is "killed" and will drift for the duration of the battle. There are 21 armies in battle school-
    * Asp - orange, orange, brown
    * Badger black, brown, brown
    * Condor - black, blue, black
    * Centipede - green, brown, green
    * Dragon - grey, orange, grey
    * Ferret - white, brown, white
    * Flame - red, orange, yellow
    * Griffin - orange, yellow, red
    * Hound - black, brown, black
    * Leopard - orange, black, black
    * Manticore - red, orange, red
    * Phoenix - orange, orange, red
    * Rabbit - grey, white, grey
    * Rat - grey, green, green
    * Salamander - green, green, brown
    * Scorpion - black, orange, black
    * Spider - black, black, red
    * Squirrel -brown, white, white
    * Tide - white, white blue
    * Tiger - orange, orange, black
    * Wave - blue, white, blue
The three colors represent the flash suit colors, and the ribbons on the wall that guide students to their coridors. This RP takes place about 5 years before Ender's Game, so you will not meet any of the characters from the book.

All characters start as launchies first arriving in the battle school. Before you are placed in an army, you must go through the tour of battle school, an introduction to the battle room etc. This will allow you to meet other RPers in your launch group, or characters you make, and make it seem more realistic. This can be one post too, such as, "After being taught the basics of the battle room, *insert name here* was taken on a tour of the battle school. He faced lots of name calling from the older kids, but pushed it aside. The next day, he woke up and headed to his Algebra class, which seemed like it took forever, he had learned all of this stuff back on Earth."
You should include some interaction with other people, I was just making an example. After you feel your character is ready to be introduced to an army, you may do so, and then the rest of your story is up to you.

I walk into the gates of the battle school. The building is huge and looks luxurious. The big commander welcomes me and gives a little tour."So, Renji. Welcome to the school! We will be a bit hard on you, but trust me, at the end, you will be as strong as you ever wished." Awesome! It shouldn't be too hard.  "Here, my boy, is the battle room, where you will do all your training. There is zero gravity and you will be with your army of 40 kids - which we will determine later. You'll learn the other stuff when you're ready to join an army. You got here pretty late, it's nearly dark. Here's your room." He leads me into a big, luxurious room. There are only 5 of 8 beds to choose from. I choose the one near the middle. I unpack and wear my PJ's and hop into bed. How comfortable! I make friends with the boy on my left. His name is Oscar. After a long nights' sleep, I go to my gym class. All the new students are here. It's the commander."Hello, boys, how was your sleep? Hehe. Today, we are going to test your endurance, stamina, strength and balance. Chop-Chop! get on any machine and work till you get tired, then swap." I go on the treadmill. The commander sets the speed to full saying that it's just wussy if you don't. We did about 5 rotations and the class ended. It's lunch time. I sit on my own, not being able to find my friend. Some big boys come up to me. "Give me your money, Jerk." "Never, stupid bullies!" Before I could strike they gave a punch on my face.. they hide me behind the toilets.. I can't move.. "...H-h-heelp" I feel blood dripping all over my face.. but i'm not going to cry. I have to be strong and wait. "H-HELP!"

I walked to the gates of the battle school. A  kid was besides me. We exchanged gestures. A big commander came up  to us "Hello, you must be Renji and Oscar." I was weirded out at how he knew our names but that didn't really matter. He kept talking about stuff but I really didn't care. He showed us to this big room. "Fancy.." I muttered. "There are only four beds to choose from." He said. I chose the left middle one. I made a friend in the first few minutes Renji was an O.K kid. I quickly went to my bed and slept. The kid besides me Renji was snoring loudly. I could barely sleep so I took my pillow's and put them on top of my ears. There was the Occasional toss and turn. After some time sleeping I wake up and go to gym class waiting for the others. How do I know the schedule? Well before we slept they gave us a schedule. I waited an hour and eventually slept. Everyone was there by the time I woke up. The commander was saying something but I didn't really listen. I just copied what my friend did. I was the only one not told "Don't be a wussy!" Or "Done ALREADY?!" I was pretty proud of myself. Everyone ran down stairs. I was the last to go down. The commander shook my hand before I left. "You did good kid." He would tell me. I walked down stairs and went down to the bathrooms because I had to wash my hands before eating. I saw a few kids surrounding a stall I asked what was going on. They just pushed me out of the way. I pushed a kid and made my way to the stall. Renji was stuck between the toliet. The boys took out there fist and said "You want some?" I kicked one on the noise and faked a punch kicking the boy on the nuts. Two down, four too go. I round house kicked a kid down. "You guys suck!" I yelled. I grabed a kid and threw him at the other with ease. There was only one kid left "Sorry don't hurt me!" I ignored his plead and punched him on the nose. ((FALCON PUNCH!)) I took off his clothes and put them in the trash. I went to the stall making sure Renji is ok. Suddenly the commander came. "What the HELL is going on!?"

I walked down to the Gate, as I did, I shrunk more and more. Feeling Intensly Nervous as I inched Toward the Captain. As I approached, He stuck out his Hand, "Hi, Lirys, Welcome to the battle academy." It was nice to see that Staff was friendly. "Hi, Sir. I may be Timid, but I wont fail you." "Good to hear. Here's your Roomates, Renji and Oscar."

I followed them to our Room, Which I stayed in the Entire time, Save the 40 V. 40 match I was in... "Look at him, he's such a wimp." One of the bullies stated. "Just wait, Im not backing down, not yet. I started aiming precisly, and my targeting was on point. Kids stopped as I took them down. The Captains Of my team watched my Hit/Miss Ratio. I walked out, my side Victorious. One captain stopped me cold, "Lirys, we were watching carefully, and great Job! Thats the highest accuracy rating anyone's gotten so far: 97.66% Amazing!" I Walked down the Wave Line, then to my room, proud of my achievement.

(Note that the battle school is in space, and it is not for actual fist fights, but for mock battle with flash suits and freezing, as explained in the first post.)

Wyl was a little nauseous from the zero gravity they experienced on the launch ship. He and the rest of his launch group hurriedly wobbled out of the ship, into a building. Wyl wondered how they managed to create gravity here in space. He would try and figure that out tomorrow. For now, they were taken to their room. As the captain guiding them opened the door, Wyl, one of the first in line, saw that it was just a long room with bunks lining the sides. Being one of the first, he went to the back and picked out the second to last bunk on the right. He was on the bottom. He noticed a pad on the bed, and picked it up. The captain proceeded to talk.

"You will notice on your beds a small pad like object. These are your desks. You may play some games on these, chat with other people, read books, and much more. If you place your palm on the desk, it will turn on. Your desk will only turn on when you palm it. You may then sign on, and explore."
 
Wyl watched some of the others sign on, he did so himself, stunned at the technology. He pulled up some books that he would read later, then went on to play the fantasy game. After a few minutes, he decided it was boring and quit. He noticed the captain hadn't left.

"Now, we will take a tour of the rest of the battle school. Line up and follow me."

The launchies lined up and went out of the room. The Captain took them to see the bathroom, but then the tour got interesting. He began to yell at a few kids who had gotten into a fight. Idiots, Wyl thought, before they went to the nurse with the hurt kids. It looked like they weren't hurt that bad, but who knew. After that, they went to see the training room. The captain explained that they would have to spend half an hour here each day to keep their bones from deteriorating. Apparently they were supposed to exercise now, so Wyl went on to jog and lift weights. After the half hour of rigorous exercise, they were taken to the battle room.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks for helping. Before I could land a punch they gave a big one just above my forehead, which is my weak spot." The nurse puts a bandage on my forehead. I walk out, and head towards my room.   
Name: Renji
Army: Dragon
Uniform: Grey, Orange, Grey.Aweeeessoommee!! I've just been assigned to my army! My next class.. the battle room.I walk in and wear my gear, and get ready for the battle. The commander taught us how to use our weapons at our first gym session. We float around in the room and get into position.3...2...1.. GO! a voice says. I take cover behind some obstacles. I shoot several shot's on the bully that punched me. He freezes over, but I still continue shooting at him. "Renji, he's out of the match, shoot the OTHERS!" the commander shouts at me. I listen to him, and freeze half the other team. OUCH! I get shot on my left leg. My leg gets in massive pain but then I heal myself with the health pack and it recovers.I freeze some more people, and the rest of the army finishes them off. We line up in front of the commander, sweating and tired. He unfreezes the kids that couldn't reach a health pack, then gives our highest scores. He gets to my name. "..Renji. Your highest score was.. 95.6% accuracy, and quickest shooter! That's the second best we've ever got, after a kid named Wyl. Well done! hmm.. Renji! You're an Assasin! Specialise in knives, bows and silenced weapons! Tomorrow, you'll be given your Dragon Assasin uniform. Oh my god! What and honour!  He continues to tell what the other kids are. Most of them need more training. I walk to my room. I wear my PJ's, and hop into bed.I talk to Oscar about how I got our positions and specialties. I shut my eyes and have a long, relaxed sleep.

I Went to the Sparring Room, and a bully glanced at me, "Whats Baby Lirys doing in the Sparring Room? Doesn't He Know?" I started Shrinking back, "I k-know What This Room is for." He Glared at Me, as I shrunk More, he said, "Then why are you Here, Want to get your butt handed to you?" That Did It. My Timid Personality Snapped, I was ready to fight.

I Ran Behind him, Then Caught his foot with my own, and tripped him. As he got Up, he said, " Wasn't expecting that, you sure made it easy for me. Now I know your Weakness." "Only Pansies Stop a fight, Then Taunt their Opponent." That sure made him mad... He Charged Fist-First, and I stepped to the side, Grabbed his Arm, Then Flipped him. Again..He Got up. I sped toward him, Kicked him in the head, then punched his Gut. This time, He refused to get up. "How did you, a Baby, Beat me?" "Im Not Weak! I may not be physically strong, but Im Swift, Agile, and Precise. Maybe I'll Work toward Strong, Then Ill be Unbeatable. Remember This."

That sucks I mean...we are just ten..and seven year olds." Oscar smacked his head. Oscar wandered around and saw a kid put quite a smackdown on some bullys. "Yo Kid whats your name?" I shouted. Meena had just finished her Tai Chi session this evening and was on her way home, when a weird vehicle stopped near her.

- You're Meena, right? Would you like to join the Battle School?
- Who are you?
- Fear not. We are here to try and save the world. We already talked to your parents about it, and they agreed, since it's for the good of mankind. You have probably heard about the Buggers?
- Y-yes. Are they coming back again?
- We are not sure, but we are ready to train some bright children at Battle School to enhance their abilities and train them so that they can cope with another invasion.
- I would like to say good bye to my parents first, and take some things, if this is possible.
- Of course you can.

Meena got home, packed a few things, including the picture of her and her parents. She knew she was going to miss them and vice versa, but the thought of losing her parents once more was something she couldn't afford. Those adoptive parents were the nicest persons she knew, and for them as well as for the biolgical parents, she worked hard everywhere she went. She waved goodbye to her parents, took her bag and went into the vehicle of the man. The vehicle started to make a soft noise, then rose in the air. She was seeing the ground getting further before her eyes as the vehicle sped up through the sky. The surroundings became darker as she was leaving the atmosphere. It was becoming colder.

After some time, they arrived at a huge spaceship. Meena could see the huge rotating parts of the ship and the large flat Solar Panels. It was the beginning of a new life.

Meena got it, got welcomed by a formal looking man.

- Welcome to Battle School Meena. This man here will guide you to your room. Have a nice stay here! We'll bring you more information when you set yourself.

Meena got into her new room. Nobody else was there, though it could accommodate two people... She unpacked her things, and sat on the bed, thinking about what will happen to her now...

Meena entered the dormitory. It was a huge hall with about a dozen beds on each side of the room. She went to the furthest bed and put her bag on her bed. She started unpacking her things, and putting her clothes in the drawer next to her bed. There we other new girls it seemed... they were unpacking their things too. She sat on her bed when she was done with unpacking, thinking about what will happen to her now...

He though to himself. He let go of the doorknob and started wandering around again. "Heh I should pull a prank." He muttered. He found the Lunch Room and stormed in. Suprisingly the door was open. He wanderd around and found the door to the Kitchen. He checked around making shore no one was there. He tried to open thee door but it was locked. He decided to Kick the door. The door flung open reaviling The kitching. Oscar came rushing in and took two cups of water. "Hehehe" oscar ran to the girls room and slowly opened the door. He saw that a girl was awake and droped his cups. "Its not what it looks like!"

Wyl went to his classes. They were all easy, but still better than the classes he was taking on Earth. He went back to his room. When he got to his bunk, there was a slip of paper. On in was written:
Wave Army: Blue, White, Blue
Commander: Coster Ullen
Be there by 1800

He was being assigned to an army already. No one else in his launch group had been assigned yet. He went outside and found the ribbon that was colored blue, white, blue, and followed it until he came to a door. He hesitated to open it, but finally did after about a minute. It was just like the room he was in before, except all the kids were older and talked more.

"Hey, look! Its the launchy!" One of the kids shouted. A few of the others laughed, some of them started chanting. Wyl said nothing, and found his bunk. It was near the front. A few minutes later the door opened and a young boy stepped in. He looked to be 10 or 11, but apparently had some authority over these kids because they shut up.

"I was told we got a new soldier today" Some kids said "yes" Most of them nodded. Coster looked around the room, and eventually found the new face. "Welcome to Wave army, it'll be hell" With that he turned to the rest of the kids. "This new soldier, Wyl, should be treated like a soldier who's been in wave army for 3 years. I don't care how young he is, how smart he is, or how good he is in battles, if you refuse to show any sign of respect to him, he will be useless in battle, and we will lose." He then turned to Wyl. "You'll find your flash suit and gun in the drawer under your bed, on the left. See how your flash suit feels, but don't bother with your gun yet, it won't work. Dinner is in 1 hour."

Meena heard something fall at the entrance of her room and some faint voice. She was a little confused, and walked silently towards the door.

- Uh... somebody here?

She saw two cups on the floor with water spilled at the doorway.

EDIT:
Meena has closed her eyes for a while, and suddenly, she heard something fall somewhere in the dormitory and some faint voice. She opened her eyes, and saw that most of the girls had already gone. She was alone in the dormitory.

- Uh... did anybody hear this noise?

The few girls shook their head. She got up silently and tried to make out what made this noise but found only two empty cups on the floor, with water spilled.

Meena looked around but didn't find anybody.

* The newcomers are to come to the briefing room to get more details about your stay at Battle school. Follow the directions in the corridors and you'll easily find the briefing room. Over. *

Meena sighed, went in the room, took her back pack and went out of the room. She locked the door behind her using the key given to her.

Meena sighed, then went to her bed. She took her back pack and looked at the general map of the school. She had to get one level down... She took the pole and slid down. Then she followed the directions on the walls to get to the briefing room.

Meena made her way to the briefing room. Apparently, the newcomers had to sit at the front. She went there and took the last seat available. A girl entered and went up on the dais. She was older than most of them... probably 17 or so...

- Girls, welcome. I would like to also have a special welcome to our new recruits. I am Emily, the commander of your army, that is the Phoenix Army. This briefing session will have, as priority, our new recruits. I would recommend you to take care of your juniors and help them get used to the daily work, get to know the school and where to go in case of emergency.

The commander went on saying the rules of the school and each of the newcomer was given a ribbon coloured orange, orange, red. So, this is what they expect from us... optimising our abilities and putting them to practice. They were told that there was also a drawer under their beds, where a flash suit and a gun is kept. A senior girl from the group was entitled to help each of the newcomer. The one of Meena was named Corie.

- Welcome to Phoenix Meena. I'm Corie, nice to meet you.

Corie gave some tips to Meena and showed her the Cafeteria, the Battle Room, the Classes, the Training Rooms, the Sparring Room... Meena was trying to memorise all of these, their functions when they are open, etc. Corie also told Meena to be careful in the school. There might be some people who like to bully others, especially newcomers.

- You can call me whenever you have a problem, okay? And I will come as soon as I can.
- I don't think I'll call you often. I know how to defend myself. I thank you for your kindness. I hope we'll be good friends!
- Ah, it'll be time for dinner in a while. You can try out your suit in the meantime. Your gun is not functional yet, but it'll be when you'll be ready. See you later!

Corie went away and Meena got in the dormitory. She lifted the sheet on the mattress and found the drawer, initially hidden by the sheet. She took out the suit and the gun. "They suit me" she thought. "I'll better try them out." She went into the wash room and locked the door. She had a quick shower and got in her new suit. It was perfectly fitting! It was now time to have dinner... she got out, and walked towards the dining room.

Meena got into the cafeteria and took a tray. She went towards the food and queued up. They were having mash potato today, with some simple vegetables and some beef meat. She then sat down at Corie's table. Her friends there too were there. Meena made acquaintance with each other. Some of her friends too were in charge of other new comers and they said they felt thrilled about their first day tomorrow. Corie and her senior friends talked about the classes, about the things that we'll learn and the strategies that we might adopt in the Battle Room. They explained to us how our guns will work, how we will get frozen if hit by an opponent or how we can make use of the health packs. They told us where to hit, where it was easier to hit, what was the advantage of hitting there, and where to hit if we wanted to make sure our opponent has a great handicap.

Then they started talking about their ranks. Corie was in the 5th overall rank in the army. Prisca, one of her friends was 2nd overall. The 1st one was our leader, Emily. The strategies we could use were limitless. However, we had to train our endurance, our strength and our precision of fire.

Throughout the meal, Meena came to know Lilly, another newcomer. She was quite shy, like Meena until Corie noticed our silence.

- Hey, you have the right to talk! I know this might be an alien world for you, but it'll be no good if you remain in your corner. I wouldn't like you to be sent back to Earth, okay. Come on, Lilly and Meena. I noticed that your beds were besides each other. I'm sure that you will get along well.

So, Meena and Lilly started to talk about little things... they realised that they had a lot in common. It was the beginning of a long friendship.

He was suprised no one noticed him yet. "Girls are soooo stupid!" He thought. He grabbed the pole and slid down. He walked around wondering what time it is. "Im pretty hungry so I guess to the Caff I go..." Oscar started walking finding his way to the caf. A boy looked at me and ran towards me. I wondered what he wanted and asked "What is it?" He said "Your Oscar right? I nodded. He smiled a weird smile "Your in the Tiger army Flash Suits are Orange, Orange, Black. If you want to know any more information...dont ask me. Bye." Oscar was disgusted with his rudeness he flipped the finger at him and quickly got into the cafeteria. He saw a couple of guys talking when they noticed me they told me to come over. I walked over to them and asked what did they want. A boy about 10-11 that looked like the leader said "We are the Tigers. You want any information ask me." We started a conversation and he told me about the battel room and other things that are important.

It was now time to go to bed. Meena and her new friends went to the dormitory, went up the ladder and Emily closed the entrance to the dormitory. She waited for everyone to get up to do so.

- Lights out in 30 minutes. Get ready to go to bed, tomorrow will be a busy day, especially for you, the newcomers. We'll need to get up at 6.30 to be ready at 7.00 sharp. Breakfast will be at 7.00 till 8.00 then, you'll need to go to your respective classes. Your new time tables were given to you in the briefing session, don't lose them or memorise them well.

Meena got ready to go to sleep. She chatted a little more with Lilly and it was time to switch off the lights. She laid on her bed, thinking of her parents at home and about the next day...

Wyl woke up the next morning. He had woken up before most of the other boys, and he presumed it was good. He had always been a morning person. A few boys were walking out of the room, probably heading to the bathroom. A lot of them were using their desks. Wyl palmed his and looked through some of the books he was reading. One specific part caught his eye. Mazer Rackham. Apparently Mazer had saved the human race in a fight against the buggers. He destroyed one ship and they all went dead. One shot defeated the buggers, and Mazer guided it. Now, the question is, was it luck, or did he know what would happen?

Meena woke up as the rays of the sun came into the room through the dark window panels. She was told that direct exposure to sunlight was harmful, and that they needed to be filtered by those special window panes to remove the harmful radiations. It was 6.30 am, the time they had to get up. Some girls were still in bed. Others wanted to sleep a little more. Emily wasn't in her bed, Meena noticed. She was probably already in the bathroom... Meena got up and went to a vacant one, got a quick shower and got dressed.

Then, she sat on her bed. 6.45 am... 15 more minutes to go before breakfast is served. She looked at the books she'll be using in class. She opened the first one, about astronomy, the different types of planets and their characteristics. Some were solid, other mere but dense gases... the chapters about the black holes and the nebulas seemed very interesting... She closed the book, took another one. 'Mathematics' it read. It was one of her favourite subjects back on Earth... she opened the first page, and saw what she was familiar with. She flipped through some pages and saw how complicated the theorems were becoming... she was confused at all of them. However, in some way, she was eager to learn all of these. She knew that maths would help her in many ways. She had already tried to memorize some of the ways to quick calculate some long operations.

- Meena? It's time for breakfast.

It was Lilly, she got dressed while Meena was having a look at her books.

- Oh! Thank you Lilly. Let's go!

In my room, all alone, I was the only kid in my launch group who hadn't been set a Team yet.

With this Solemn thought in my mind, I missed the companions I once knew, The Glory that slipped through my hands. My heart felt heavy, and I clutched my legs, as an infant would, and slowly went back to sleep.

They had breakfast on the same table as the night before, and the same girls were around it. This morning, they had some pancakes, toasts, bakeries accompanied by the milk, coffee, tea and orange juice. There was some commotion over another table a little further away.

- Another of those bragging about their muscles and new exploits it seems... said Emily. They don't understand that muscles alone won't make them go far... they must associate mental strength and physical endurance to reach the top...

Meena listened to Emily as she spoke those words. "Mental strength? Endurance?" she thought. So those were the 'magical ingredients' to master the Battle room... still, she felt that Emily was not telling everything. But who could blame her? She was at the top the others might be obvious... or they could be that they'll learn about them sooner or later... or even she had other reasons not to tell more about it... the competition did seem fierce despite the girls being close friends and the boys just bragged all day as sson as they go up a rank. As Meena's thoughts were running wild in her head, the bell rang. Breakfast was already over and it was time for her first theory class; mathematics.

The first class went without much difficulty. The teacher spoke about topics that Meena was already acquainted with, but then, as expected, things got a little more challenging. At the end of the class, Meena met with Lilly. 

- I enjoyed the class. It's the first time that a see a teacher going so quickly over the topics, and everyone seemed to be able to follow, which I've not seen very often... I'm so happy to learn things at the rate I want to!
- Is that so? I wasn't able to fully grasp the last topic... do you mind helping me with this tonight?
- Sure! I'll be glad to help! This will also prevent me from forgetting the topics too fast.

The next class was gym. They had to build up their endurance...

Wyl woke up. He was tired. His commander had them on a rigourous training routine, and Wyl found it was getting easier. The other boys, who had been in the army a while, must have found it easier than Wyl, but showed no signs, apparently they wanted it to stay easy, but that would only hurt them in the long run. Had Wyl been assigned to an incompetent army?
They had a battle today, apparently, as Wyl had been woken up by his toon leader.

Oscar slowly opened his eyes, he rubbed his eyes and yawned. "YAaaaawn....whada you want..?" A kid that was very familiar he had a very annoying grin. "You think I'm not going to warn you huh?" I looked at him as if he was an idiot. "Look buddy I dont want any problems." I slowly got out of my bed slightly tired. "Look....I really dont want to hurt you. From now on you get out of bed more early. You are skipping classes." Oscar yawned once more and started streching then it hit him ((Not littearly o.o)) "You're that guy that thinks he can "Command" me Well buddy, your not all high and mighty."

Wyl was jogging with his army towards their gate. He was in C toon (Platoon) along with 8 other kids, and their toon leader 'Ross the Boss.' Once at the gate, Coster ordered them to file through one at a time, and grab the star right outside of their gate. Wyl, being the last in his toon, watched as the others swung through the gate using the handholds, quickly reorienting themselves to the null gravity battle room. They'd had experience with battles. Wyl hadn't. He reached up and grabbed the handhold, he'd done this many times before. As he entered the battle room, he oriented himself with the enemy gate as forward. He approached the floating cube called a star, and landed feet first, arms at his side next to one of the other soldiers. He grabbed onto a handhold, and awaited orders. Ross told a few of his soldiers to peek over the star, they did so, and reported the enemy nowhere in sight. Now it was ordered that half of the toon, including Wyl, head up and over the star and launch to the one in front of it, according to Wyl's orientation. He did so, being one of the first to get a grip on the star. He caught glances of the other toons around them, moving forward in the battle. They left C toon as a last line of defence. A poor strategy, it left numbers back so that Wave army's offense would be weak. Leopard army would have no problem getting to the point that C toon was defending, and getting to their gate. The other army would be camping behind stars like Wyl was, waiting for a stupid mistake like this to happen. They would lose this battle.

And they did. Leopard army won with 15 soldiers left, Wyl was immobilized, along with all but 2 Wave soldiers. They had been crippled. What Wyl had thought before was true. He was stuck with an incompetent army.

Meena and Lilly got in the gym room. There were the usual equipment that every gym on Earth had, but along with some more strange equipment. Meena was told to try out the treadmill to boost the strength in her legs. She quietly moved there and allowed Emily to set the programme. Meena walked at first, and sped up as the treadmill went faster underneath her. It got to a speed she could run for quite some time, but then, it sped up a little more. Emily seeing that Meena was confortable pushed a little so that Meena gets used to pushing her limits.

Couple of minutes later, Meena got off the treadmill out of breath. It was the first time she ran for so long at that speed. Lilly was here too, but she didn't seem as tired.

- You don't seem as tired as me...
- Yes, I'm used to doing endurance exercises, so for that amount of time, I'm fairly able to manage.

It was nearly noon, and Emily told them to have a shower. We were having lunch in some time, after which, there will be a battle session.

Meena went to a vacant closet and had a quick cold shower; the previous exercise had made her sweat a lot indeed. She then quickly got dressed and got out to see Lilly getting in another closet.

- Wait for me. I'll be in a few seconds.

Meena went to her bedroom and opened one of her books. Astronomy was a subject that passionate her. She read from where she left previously and read about the technologies that were being developed and used in Battle School. Before being able to read a whole page, Lilly appeared.

- Okay, let's have lunch now!

They went together to have lunch and met Emily and the others.

- Corie, what should we do in the Battle Room in some time?
- Oh, speaking about which, yes, we have to tell you a little about it before it. Well, you girls will take the defense line for the time being, and observe how the attackers move around. You'll shoot at any opponent coming near the base.

Just as she was saying those words, an alarm went off.

* All students are required in the Briefing Room urgently. This is not an exercise, I repeat, this is not an exercise. A group of buggers have been reported to be nearby and approaching quickly. Join your respective Armies and follow the given instructions. Over. *

- Oh no, said Corie. Sounds bad. You'll have to try without any practice. Let's go to the Phoenix briefing room quick.

Emily and Lilly looked at each other surprised... they were going to battle without having had any practice at all...

Wyl heard the alarm sound. The voice spoke. At first, he was in fear, as were all of the other children. Then he thought back to what he had read, there had to be a logical explaination..
He thought of it. There were no Buggers attacking. There couldn't be. They were all controlled by the queen, which is why Mazer Rackham had fired at that one ship, he had figured out that easily enough, if the queen died, all of them died. ((No, you may not kill the queen)) The Buggers had retreated after the 2nd invasion. What Wyl had also found interesting is why they were rushing some boys through Battle School. They left for Tactical School at the age of 12, before they had even been through five years of Battle. Then only reason they would need commanders soon is if the Buggers were close already, or if the Humans sent a massive fleet a while back to wipe out the Buggers. The Battle School was also orbiting the Earth, and Buggers here meant Buggers on Earth, and if a few ships get through, the world is done for. Wyl wondered if anybody had figured out what he had. Apparently not, as he was the only one still sitting at his table in the lunch room. Other Wave soldiers were rushing out of the lunch room, to no particular place, only furthering Wyl's belief about the incompentence. He walked out of the lunch room, climbed up several ladders, until he found a teacher.
"You think this is funny? Making kids fear for their lives like this?"
"What do you mean? Go find a ship!" The teacher started to walk away.
"I don't need to. The only threat here is the incompetence of these kids. They are too stupid to figure out the truth, that's why you're going to Colonel Graff right now to report that I've figured you out. While you're there, ask him why kids so stupid like the ones in Wave army are even here." Wyl's voice was not threatening.
The teacher seemed to ignore him, but he was intent on hearing every word.

"Yawwwwwwn....what is it now- Buggers?! I havent went into any of my classes.....! Oh man..theres no time left I have to go!
 
I ran out of the room, following the other students who where running. I dident really know my way around the school. I saw a few kids that where familiar, "Hey wait up!" I shouted. The kids looked back at me and shouted "What?!" I shouted "You guys are from my armie right? We talked a while ago! What do I have to do?" A kid stepped up and explained breifly. "Alright! I-I'm going to follow you guys for now.." (Can you guys read my Post better now?)

Meena and Lilly rushed out of the cafeteria when both of them noticed a boy, about the same age as them on another side, with a blue white blue flash suit. What really caught their attention was that he was shouting at a teacher, who seemed to be now ignoring him. The boy didn't seem as worried as the other boys running past him... he seemed strange to both Meena and Lilly.

- I wonder what's going on...
- Do you know him? Or the teacher by any chance?
- Unfortunately no. This teacher was the one to welcome me when I first came here, but then, nothing...
- Same for me... I wonder what's the matter. He doesn't seem worried the least about the buggers coming while he seems to know who they are... Something's fishy is going on and this boy there seems the only one aware of it. I think we're hiding something from us. We better be on our guard.

With this, other girls came behind them and urged them to hurry up to the briefing room.
