Pokedex Entries / [Pokedex Entry] Darkrai for Xetroc
« on: March 31, 2014, 09:30:34 PM »
Pokemon #491, Darkrai, Dark type, Pitch-Black Pokemon.

Intro: Darkrai is the legendary bringer of nightmares. It is also the dark half of the lunar duo, where it represents the new moon. Cresselia forms the other part of this duo.
Darkrai's body is mostly black with a red decoration around his neck and with white 'hair'. It is sometimes said Darkrai looks like a slim-waisted black dress suit. The bottom of his body is less elegant, very raffled and doesn’t show any legs. When needed, Darkrai can extend his lower body to form two sharp legs. Darkrai’s arms have three sharp fingers. Its shoulders look like smoke and are constantly moving. Darkrai’s ‘hair’ has the same floating movement. The red decoration around his neck looks like the jaw of some creature with large teeth. Darkrai has two clear blue eyes with white pupils, although only one eye is usually visible.

Habitat: No definite habitat has been confirmed for Darkrai, although there have been several sightings of Darkrai on Newmoon Island.

Diet: It is not known whether Darkrai needs to feed for sustenance. According to legend, Darkrai feeds on the nightmares of others in order to sustain itself. It does so by using the move Dream Eater. It is not known whether it needs this energy to survive.

Biology: The existence of several Darkrai has been confirmed. Several locations have reported sightings of Darkrai, and some unregistered trainers have used Darkrai in the past. It is not known whether Darkrai reproduces, or if one is created under certain rare circumstances.
Darkrai is best known for its ability to cause nightmares to all those who sleep in its vicinity. Due to this ability, it was long thought that Darkrai was an evil pokemon. Though it is true that Darkrai’s sheer presence causes nightmares, it has been shown that some Darkrai regret this ability. Due to their ability, Darkrai are subject to scorn, prejudice and condemnation. Being chased from one location to another, some Darkrai choose to exile themselves and hide away from society to protect people and pokemon from its ability. Other Darkrai become vengeful bringers of misfortune, and actively seek out locations to cause nightmares, and are even drawn towards locations where people already have an abnormal amount of nightmares. Yet another type of Darkrai still insists on finding a location where it can find rest and companionship, despite the nightmares it causes.
People afflicted by Darkrai’s nightmarish powers can protect themselves with a lunar wing, a part of Cresselia. The presence of Cresselia itself can also neutralize the nightmares caused by Darkrai, and some of the more vengeful Darkrai find themselves chased by Cresselia, who want to stop Darkrai’s terror.
A Darkrai is the protector of our dimension, and puts itself at stake when it is threatened. It is able to sense impending calamity and fights at full power to protect reality from unmatched forces such as those caused by the battle between Dialga and Palkia. Darkrai is very protective of favored places and people, and will sacrifice its own life in order to protect them.
Darkrai is a very intelligent pokemon that is capable of human speech.
Darkrai can use its Bad Dreams ability to great effect in combat, since simply lulling an opponent to sleep is enough to defeat them. Its combat prowess allows him to hold his own against overwhelming odds, such as many attackers at once, and can even subdue several legendary pokemon for a short while. It uses its signature move Dark Void to subdue many opponents at once and whittle their ability to fight in conjunction with this ability.

Pokemon Leauge Commission notes:
Class A: Although prejudice towards the nature of Darkrai’s nightmares has been mostly cleared up, the fact that his presence causes nightmares is still very much a fact. In order to protect society from widespread sleep-deprivation and other mental illnesses, the PLC has forbidden the catching and use of Darkrai until further notice.

Pokedex Entries / [Pokedex Entry] Linoone for Cincy
« on: March 29, 2014, 11:00:28 AM »
Pokemon #264, Linoone, Normal type, Rushing pokemon.

Intro: Linoone is the evolved version of Zigzagoon, and is well-known for its urge to collect random items, much like Zigzagoon. Linoone is a slim, oblong pokemon with four feet. It has a light brown fur coat with several dark brown lines along the length of its body. One of these lines ends in a arrow on its forehead, two pass through its eyes and has a three-pronged end, and there are two more along the side of its tail. Linoone has four paws with two sharp, long claws each. Linoone has blue eyes, a black nose, and two tufts of hair on top of its head that give the impression of being ears.

Habitat: Linoone primarily lives in grasslands, although its versatile nature allows it to live in many more areas such as forests, lakesides, mountainous regions, and many more.

Diet: Linoone’s diet is very varied. It hunts rodents and other prey, catches fish in lakes with its claws, and eats berries and fruits. It is a very gluttonous pokemon that craves food most of the time.

Biology: Linoone’s signature movement is running in a straight line at a speed of 60 mph. While it can run extremely fast, it is unable to turn during a run. This makes catching prey quite troublesome. It has to slow down completely before making a turn.
Some Linoone are obsessed with collecting small objects. Wild Linoone create a stash where they place all their items, mostly spherical objects. A trainer that comes across such a stash may find very rare and valuable items, since there’s no telling what Linoone will collect. A trainer accompanied by a Linoone will find the pokemon holding on to items it found at random times between battles. Linoone may find things ranging in value from useless bottlecaps, to golden nuggets and even extremely valuable TM’s such as Earthquake. It is unknown where Linoone finds all these items, as they don’t appear to just be lying around.
As with many normal type pokemon, Linoone has a very wide range of elemental attacks it can use, although less varied than some other pokemon. It can use Ice, Electric, Water and Ghost type moves. It also learns various moves that support its item collecting nature, such as Covet, Switcheroo, Fling, Thief and Trick.
Linoone has expandable cheek pouches. It will use these most of the time to store food, so it can eat whenever it becomes hungry. Since it’s such a glutton, Linoone can often be seen refilling the pouches. It will also use them while running to store items it has found.

Pokemon League Commission notes:
Class D. Even as an evolved pokemon, Linoone are plentiful in most areas, which makes the implementation of catching restrictions unnecessary.

Pokedex Entries / [Pokedex Entry] Furret for Raljev
« on: March 29, 2014, 10:51:20 AM »
Pokemon #162, Furret, Normal type, Long Body pokemon.

Intro: Furret is the evolved version of Sentret. It has greater speed and power than its previous form, and it has overcome most of its fears to become a capable hunter. Furret has a long, streamlined body that extends immediately into its tail. It is impossible to see where the tail starts. Its body is tan- and brown-colored. It has rings starting from the lower half of its body, all the way to the end of the tail. Above the rings are two small three phalanxed paws, that are brown at the end. It also has two tan paws three rings down the waist, with three toes each. Its face and upper body are tan-colored, while the its forehead and the back of its head are brown, with brown ears and tan tips. It has beady, cheerful eyes, a small mouth, and two brown stripes on each side of its face, similar to whiskers.

Habitat: Furret lives in open plains, tall grasslands and meadows. It builds its nest underground.

Diet: In addition to a diet of fruits and berries, Furret is also a skilled predator that hunts rodents such as Rattata.

Biology: Ferret has evolved from a shy squirrel towards a capable and forward hunter. Its increased speed and flexibility allow it to outmaneuver practically all small rodents, while allowing it to escape from everything that is bigger than itself. Furret’s long and slim body allows it to squeeze itself between all but the tightest holes. It is very fast despite its short, small paws.
It also exploits its own body shape and flexiblity by making a burrow with long, slim tunnels. No other pokemon is able to navigate the long, maze-like tunnels without getting lost or stuck in a bend. Any pokemon that is actually small enough to enter will think twice about doing so, because a hungry Furret may be waiting inside.
Inside the burrow, nests of Sentret are usually hiding from the outside world until they are big enough to live on their own. In order to cradle them to sleep, Furret surrounds them with its entire body.
In combat, Furret has the same versatility in elemental moves as Sentret and other normal-type pokemon. In addition to Sentret’s moves, it is also able to learn Strength, which increases its use for any trainer even more.
Although Furret does not look like it, it is a powerful swimmer that is able to pull trainers along that cling to its body.

Pokemon League Commision notes:
Class D: Furret is a pokemon that is quite uncommon in most areas. However, most regions do not reinforce laws that prohibit catching, since Furret’s mazelike burrows are impossible for most pokemon to safely enter, which allows Furret to stay safe from most trainers. This prevents the need for any regulatory interference.

Pokedex Entries / [Pokedex Entry] Sentret for Raljev
« on: March 29, 2014, 10:50:10 AM »
Pokemon #161, Sentret, Normal type, Scout pokemon.

Intro: Sentret is a small pokemon that is known for its speed. It has a small, egg-shaped body with thick stubby arms that end in tiny, three-toed paws. It has two small three-toed feet, although it rather uses its large striped and furry tail. It has two oblong ears on top of its head. Its entire body is brown, its ears and the stripes on its tail are dark-brown and it has a light-brown ring on its tummy. Its eyes and mouth are very small.

Habitat: Sentret is well known to live in open plains, although it also appears in overgrown grasslands and meadows.

Diet: Sentret’s main diet consists from nuts, fruits and berries. It can also consume meat, but it is usually too shy to hunt.

Biology: Sentret is an extremely shy pokemon. It runs at the slightest sound or hint of oncomers. It appears to constantly fear for its life, and is not able to go to sleep alone. In groups, several Sentret always stand watch while the others sleep.
While on guard, Sentret stands on its long  tail. While doing this. it has a wide view of the area and can easily spot other pokemon and humans. When danger is spotted, Sentret uses its powerful voice to warn the others and sound the retreat.
In battle, Sentret is a very versatile pokemon. It has the ability to use a wide range of elemental attacks, such as most normal-type pokemon. It can use fire, water, electric, grass, ice-type attacks and many others. It can also surprise opponents with its speed and lithe movements, sneaking in and Sucker Punching them, or stealing their move with Me First. At a high level, Sentret develops the ability to use its powerful voice for attacking, allowing it to learn the move Hyper Voice.
Although it is hard to catch due to its shy nature, Sentret is a choice pokemon for starting trainers in the Johto region. They are easy to use and know a wide variety of useful HM moves that make it a valueable partner for many trainers. Under guidance of a trainer, many Sentret often learn to overcome their natural fear of practically everything, making it a worthy fighter. If such a trained Sentret is released by the trainer again, they mostly become pack leaders.

Pokemon League Commission notes:
Class D: Sentret is a pokemon that is very capable of managing its own population levels, so no catching restrictions have been implemented.

Pokedex Entries / [Pokedex Entry] Vulpix for BlazingNinetales
« on: March 25, 2014, 07:35:04 PM »
Pokemon #037, Vulpix, Fire type, Fox pokemon.

Intro: Vulpix is a firefox that is best known to be the counterpart of Growlithe. Vulpix is a small pokemon with four tiny paws and six tails. Its coat is mostly red, with a cream-colored underbelly. The six curled tails and the three curls on its head are exceptionally bright. Its paws have three toes and are covered in a darker fur than the rest of the body. It has large, clear, grey eyes, pointy ears and a small black nose.

Habitat: Vulpix are known to inhabit open fields, forests and areas that are known to be related to fire, such as volcanoes and burnt-down buildings. Vulpix shares this niche with Growlithe, and has a fierce rivalry with that pokemon. You will never find Growlithe and Vulpix in the same region, since dominant Growlithe populations actively chase out Vulpix minorities. This also happens vice-versa when Vulpix are dominant.

Diet: Vulpix will eat berries and other fruits, but will also hunt birds and small rodents. Pidgey and Rattata are common on Vulpix’ predatory diet.

As a newborn, Vulpix only has a single white tail, that splits into six red tails as it grows older. During this incomplete form, other properties of Vulpix are yet to be properly defined, the most important one being its cry. While an adult Vulpix cries out its name, there is a lot of speculation on the cry of a young Vulpix, and the perceived possible cries are very diverse, some even bordering on preposterous.
While there are many pokemon with a beautiful fur coating, Vulpix’ fur is prized for its exceptional quality. Some would even go as far as to call it divine or angelic.
Vulpix is born with an ever-burning flame inside its body which it uses for its fire-attacks. The flame gives Vulpix an entire lifetime of experience with manipulating and using this flame, granting it mastery over very accurate and precise fire attacks. In the summer, Vulpix will periodically use fire-attacks to prevent the internal flame from overheating its body. It is able to learn powerful fire-type moves such as Flamethrower relatively fast.
Vulpix protects its family by digging a hole, or den, underground. Newborn Vulpix in the wild are rarely seen and stay inside until the tail has split into six.
When Vulpix encounters a powerful adversary, it will often faint an injury in order to get away. This behavior sounds contradictory, since predators are known to target weakened prey more often, but it works for Vulpix for some reason.
Vulpix has a mysterious nature, and is able to use all sorts of occult moves such as Confuse Ray, Will-o-Wisp, Grudge, Hex, Imprison and Extrasensory. It is not as proficient at using these moves yet, but this ability improves greatly after evolution.
Some fire pokemon have a rather unique way of interpersonal communication. Vulpix and Ponyta sometimes choose to communicate using short and long bursts of fire. This is mostly the case when long distances need to be bridged. Scientists have not unraveled the specifics of this communication method yet, but recent findings indicate a language structure similar to Morse code.

Pokemon League Commission notes:
Class D: Although Vulpix are relatively uncommon pokemon, the population is at such a level that the PLC deems restrictions unnecessary. Vulpix regulate their own numbers well by shying away from most encounters with trainers and fleeing when needed.

Pokedex Entries / [Pokedex Entry] Rayquaza
« on: March 24, 2014, 06:14:25 PM »
Pokemon #384, Rayquaza, Dragon/Flying type, Sky High Pokémon

Intro: Rayquaza is known as the Legendary queller of storms, Guardian of the Natural Balance, and Master of the Weather Trio.
Rayquaza's appearance is that of a huge, green, flying snake. Its huge green body is decorated with yellow oval shapes, connected by a yellow line. It has four broad ring-segments that appear to cover the underlying body. Two of these segments have four red-lined fins. The tail segment has three smaller red-lined segments. The top segment is decorated with a black Y-shape, and holds Rayquaza's arms and two red-lined fins on its back. The arms have relatively small hands, with three claws each. Rayquaza's neck has two large green blade-like protrusions pointing backwards on top, and two smaller ones below the head. Rayquaza's head is shaped like a snake, it appears to have no teeth, and its eyes are completely black with two yellow circles indicating the pupils.

Habitat: Rayquaza is known to spend most of its time flying in the upper regions of the atmosphere and in the ozone layer. It sometimes rests on the Sky Pillar in Hoenn. A Rayquaza is also known to reside in a certain unnamed lake. Whether this is the same Rayquaza or that more copies exist is unknown.

Diet: When Rayquaza flies high in the atmosphere, it appears to sustain itself solely with water droplets and other particles in the air. Rayquaza has been known to attempt to eat a trespassing monkey, although it was unsuccessful. It is not known if this was a unique event or that Rayquaza eats other living things regularly.

Biology: Rayquaza is an exceptionally powerful pokemon whose very presence nullifies the effects of the weather. It is thought that Rayquaza can exert a pressure that drives away clouds, wind, rain, snow and fog. It can also use this pressure to attract clouds, that block the sunlight in order to lessen its strength.
Rayquaza has a very aggressive nature towards any perceived invaders trespassing into its territory. There have been problems with the space program, where Rayquaza would attack a space shuttle passing through the atmosphere as Rayquaza was passing by. To prevent this from happening again, technology was developed that allows the tracking of Rayquaza in the uppermost layers of the atmosphere.
Although it is naturally aggressive, Rayquaza also knows it is its job to balance the forces of nature. While it usually stays in the upper atmosphere to prevent its powers from disrupting with local weather, it will come down to earth when a weather-calamity befalls a region. Most noticeably, the recent awakening of Groudon and Kyogre caused the weather to fall into complete chaos. When this happened, Rayquaza descended onto the Sky Pillar, awaiting the legendary hero that could best guide his powers to stop the clash of the Sun and Rain pokemon.
As a dragon pokemon, Rayquaza has access to a huge multitude of elemental and physical attacks. Rayquaza can use Fire, Water, Electric, Grass, Ice, Dragon, Ground, Rock, Ghost, Flying, and even certain Fighting and Steel type moves. Combined with a plethora of moves that allow it to increase its own already tremendous power, preparing for battle with Rayquaza is practically impossible, as a single Dragon Dance or Swords Dance will render all defences useless.
Rayquaza has been hypothesized to have the longest lifespan of all pokemon. With an estimated current lifetime of hundreds of millions of years.

Pokemon League Commission notes:
Class A: Since the sheer presence of Rayquaza will disrupt local weather, the PLC has forbidden the catching and use of Rayquaza under normal circumstances.
In case of a natural disaster regarding hurricanes, a single chosen trainer may temporarily use Rayquaza to avert disaster, only to release him afterwards.

Pokedex Entries / [Pokedex Entry] Ditto for Xetroc
« on: March 20, 2014, 08:51:11 PM »
So I've gotta say, this has become quite the post. It's so long it doesn't fit into one post, so I added it as a RTF file.
I could easily restrain myself from answering all the questions, and was satisfied with just posing lots of questions and giving possible explanations. This fine, since Ditto is not a man-made pokemon like Porygon, where we're expected to know the entire history of the pokemon and its every detail due to it simply being man made.

I rather like this entry, please take the time to open the file and read it. It's worth it.

Pokedex Entries / [Pokedex Entry] Aurorus for Triloog
« on: March 20, 2014, 06:44:22 PM »
Pokemon #699, Aurorus, Rock/Ice type, Tundra pokemon.

Intro: Aurorus, the evolved form of Amaura, is best known as the pokemon that shimmers like an aurora in the night sky. Aurorus’ body is reminiscent of Amargasaurus, with a large body, a long neck and tail with a curl, and four thick and high legs. Its entire body is split in two colors, with the top half being dark blue and purplish, and the lower half being light blue. The transition between the colors on the neck is a pattern of half hexagons. Aurorus has ice crystals over the entire length of its body. It has two large skin-sail extensions over the length of its neck. These sails are waving continuously, while they slightly change colors, fluctuating between yellow and light blue. Aurorus’ hind legs have three nails, and the front legs have a single nail and one claw. Its forehead is decorated with a white V with a single ice crystal in the middle.

Habitat: Although it is nowadays officially extinct, Aurorus was a pokemon that roamed the tundra’s in search of food.

Diet: Aurorus is completely herbivorous. It prefers to eat berries and fruit, but was often forced to live on the thin layer of moss that grows on the permafrost of the tundra.

Biology: Aurorus’ crystals generate cold air around it, to temperatures as low as -150 °C. This causes Aurorus to be constantly surrounded by frost, and makes the temperature drop whenever Aurorus is released from its pokeball. This aura of cold also turns Aurorus’ normal-type moves into ice-type moves, which become more powerful since it is an ice-pokemon. It is unknown what the natural funtcion of the crystals was, but it is speculated that to survive the harsh weather of the tundra, Aurorus evolved to become an ice pokemon, which in turn made it dependent on the cold. In order to survive the winter and season, it grew ice crystals which protected it from the heat while searching for food.
Auroros’ skin sails have a mysterious glow, like the Aurora Borealis. In the darkness of the night, the shimmer of the sails is quite a sight to behold. The sails are also able to generate a certain amount of current, which allows Aurorus to use electric moves. Aurorus is also able other off-type moves such as Earthquake, Flash Cannon, Dragon Tail and even Psychic and Dream Eeater. It evolved the ability to use Dream Eater since it is a pokemon that is mostly active at night, and it was an additional way of obtaining nourishment on the Tundra, without the need for conflict or hunting.

Pokemon League Commission notes:
Class F: Aurorus can only be obtained by evolving Amaura, which is in turn resurrected from a fossil. This makes Aurorus an exceptionally difficult pokemon to obtain, although several enterprising trainers have started the spread of this pokemon by means of breeding, mostly using Ditto.
The PLC has not implanted any restrictions towards obtaining Aurorus, although all sail fossils have been added to the national heritage list of Kalos and are deemed valuable relics.

24
Pokemon #141, Kabutops, Rock/Water type, shellfish pokemon.

Intro: Kabutops is the evolved version of Kabuto, who was resurrected from a fossil using the latest cell-reconstruction and genetic assembly technology.
Kabuto is a bipedal pokemon with a grey torso, brown limbs and head, and grey claws instead of hands. Kabutops’ head is large and flat and consists of three segments, all pointing forward in a streamlined manner. Its eyes are small and triangular. Its torso consists of five segments arranged top-down in a two-two-one configuration. It’s large claws are reminiscent of death scythes. Its brown, segmented legs are constructed like a humanoid’s, but it has two sharp claws instead of toes. It has six sharp protrusions on its back pointing sideways and slightly down. It has a single protrusion coming from the back of its head and one at the end of the spine, similar to a rigid tail.

Habitat: Kabutops used to dwell in the oceans, and was on the verge of evolving to be able to live on land, when it suddenly went extinct. Nowadays, Kabutops can no longer be found in the wild, since the only living specimens are those resurrected from fossils.

Diet: Kabutops is a brutal pokemon that hunts other pokemon for food. It will slash almost any pokemon with flesh on it and drain its fluids for nourishment.

Biology: Kabutops is at the height of oceanic evolution. Its streamlined body is optimized for hydrodynamic movement, and it is able to chase down any prey as long as it’s in the water. It swims by folding in its claws and wiggling the shell to swim, which is remarkably efficient. Kabutops has also evolved the ability to move on two legs, which allows it to move on land. The land-movement is much slower than in the water, though. Kabutops was attempting to move onto land as is evident in changes in gills and legs found in different fossils. It should be noted that Kabutops fossils are much more fragile than Kabuto fossils, and finding an intact one is much harder.
Kabutops’ evolution towards life on land is direct evidence of its incredible tenacity as a hunter. In order to get away from Kabutops, its prey had slowly evolved the ability to live on land. Relentless as it is, Kabutops responded to this evolution by developing the ability to live on land as well. Halfway through fully adapting to life on land, calamity struck and Kabutops somehow became extinct. This likely happened due to a sudden change in climate, which killed off all Kabutops’ prey, leaving them without food.
Though the two do not appear to be directly related, Kabutops shares its pokemon type name with Blastoise. Both are called Shellfish pokemon.

Pokemon League Commission notes:
Class F: Kabutops is naturally declared extinct and can only be obtained by evolving Kabuto, which is in turn resurrected from fossils. Since plenty of fossils appear to be present in the underground tunnels of Sinnoh, no restrictions have been set towards the excavation of said fossils.

Pokedex Entries / [Pokedex Entry] Xatu for Miss Wednesday and Mr. 9
« on: March 18, 2014, 08:46:33 PM »
Pokemon #178, Xatu, Psychic/Flying type, Mystic pokemon.

Intro: Xatu is a pokemon that is well-known for its ability to foresee the future. Xatu is a bipedal bird pokemon that conveys an aura of stateliness. It has a conical body with two wings folded across his chest, and a spherical, green head with narrowed eyes, a yellow, hooked beak, and two red ribbons coming from the back of his head. His body is decorated with a green cat-like figure that appears to be hiding behind Xatu’s wings, and has red cat-eyes. Xatu’s wings are white and have red and black stripes at the end. He has a mostly green body with two yellow stripes around his waist. Below his torso are two slim feet, that are red in the middle and white at the tips.

Habitat: Xatu may rarely be found amongst wild populations of Natu. These populations are usually drawn towards places with ancient ruins due to their fascination with said ruins.

Diet: Xatu eats berries, nuts and seeds. It is also able to drain energy from other living beings, but prefers not to use this ability.

Biology: Xatu is a highly intelligent pokemon that is able to learn to communicate with humans using flags. This ability has made it one of the few pokemon that is able to directly communicate with its trainer.
Xatu is able to foresee the future and can look into the past. It is usually silently mortified of the future when it senses impending darkness. It is said in certain regions, that Xatu views the future with its right eye and the past with its left one. As it is very interested in the past, Xatu tends to only gather at locations where a rich history has formed through the eons. Moreover, finding Xatu’s natural habitat in other locations is practically impossible.
Due to its ability to foresee the future, Xatu is very stoic and only moves when absolutely necessary to evade an attack.
Xatu rises slightly before sunrise and may take an entire day meditating in complete silence. When this happens, it’s usually busy clearing its mind from visions of possible dark futures.
Xatu uses its signature move Future Sight to predict an attack that will hit the opponent. No one knows where the attack actually comes from. It is most likely that it is caused by an external force, since KO’ing Xatu will not stop the attack.

Pokemon League Commission notes:
Class B: Xatu is rarely found in the wild. Since their natural migration towards certain locations usually implies the presence of an archaeologically significant location, the centre for Archaeology has requested a restriction towards catching Xatu in historically important locations.

I think my entry is too long, so this is my attempt to post it as an attachment.

*edit* :yup it worked. It's definitely long.

*edit 2*: can anyone tell me what the caracter limit is for posts?

*edit 3*: here's the author's comments. It may even be better to read these before reading the entry. Possibly not though. Mehhh I dunno about all this but here goes:

Author’s Comments: This is it. This is really as far as I’m willing to go with any pokemon. I’m seriously having second thoughts about posting this. Is it really necessary to be wanting to explain things to this detail? I mean what about lava pokemon? How do they retain cellular structure when all proteins denaturate at about 200 °C? And Ice pokemon? What is an ice beam anyways? How does it mess with all the laws of thermodynamics? Instead of answering any of those, I went with the most horrible one of them all: The pokemon made of data. I mean come on, seriously? Something is data and matter at the same time? how the hell does that even work right? Well, the above is my answer to that. Uhm, I really don’t know where I want to go with these comments, but if you really didn’t get any of the above, that’s fine. I don’t get it either. I highly doubt anything ever works like that. It’s fine really, it’s written by the guy who wanted to explain how stuff works in the pokemon world. I thought my entry on Castform was fine too. This one is like that, except it got a bit out of hand. It’s probably fine :p

Pokedex Entries / [Pokedex Entry] Beedrill for Roloc
« on: March 17, 2014, 06:47:40 PM »
Pokemon #15, Beedrill, Bug/Poison type, Poison Bee pokemon.

Intro: Beedrill is a pokemon that is known for its aggressive behavior and appearance in swarms. Beedrill is a large bee, whose body consists of three pale yellow segments. The top segment is its head, which is mostly round and slightly pointed at its mouth. It has two round, red eyes and two antenna on top of its head. The middle segment of its body is connected to the arms, legs and wings. The arms end in a large conical stinger, and the feet consist of three segments that are designed to stand on, rather than cling onto surfaces. The wings are colorless and semi-transparent. The legs, arms and antenna are blue-gray. The bottom segment of the body is has black and yellow stripes, and a large yellow stinger protruding from it.

Habitat: Beedrill lives mostly in forested areas, in which it lives in large swarms, and often has its own territory.

Diet: Beedrill mainly eats the berries that grow in the forest. Beedrill may also hunt and eat larvae and pupa of other insects.

Biology: Beedrill is a pokemon that is extremely territorial and protective of its species, and very aggressive towards trespassers and apparent aggressors. It will use its three poison stingers to bring great harm to any target, and is relentless in its pursuit. A large external stimulant is necessary to dissuade a swarm of angry Beedrill.
If it is threatened, large groups of kakuna may evolve prematurely and become Beedrill in order to fight of invaders or take revenge on aggressors.
Beedrill is able to launch its stinger from its abdomen, and this stinger is also the most poisonous of the three stingers. It uses this for moves such as pin missile.
Beedrill's signature move, Twinneedle, is performed using its namesake stingers, and is rare amongst bug-type moves in that it is able to poison an opponent.
Beedrill is a pokemon that is well-loved amongst young trainers, especially Bug-catchers. The ability to train one's Kakuna to level 10 and evolve it into Beedrill is often seen as the first large step in a Bug-catcher's career. Bug-catchers with a Beedrill often become overconfident, and will start challenging random passersby to battles. Due to Beedrill's many weaknesses, in addition to most Bug-catchers' incompetence, this confidence only lasts a short while. Most of them then realise that a varied team is necessary to win more pokemon battles and only the most die-hard bug-fans will stick to their original path.

Pokemon League Commission notes:
Class D: No restrictions have been implemented towards catching Beedrill, since large swarms of Beedrill are known to harass people passing through the woods. However, extreme caution is advised, since attempting to catch a wild Beedrill is likely to anger the entire swarm.
The recommended way of obtaining Beedrill is to catch the docile Weedle or Kakuna, and evolve this.

Pokedex Entries / [Pokedex Entry] Scizor for Roloc
« on: March 17, 2014, 06:46:04 PM »
Pokemon #212, Scizor, Bug/Steel type, Pincer pokemon.

Intro: Scizor is the result of Scyther fusing with the metal coat during a trade and going into evolution. Scizor is a human-sized insectoid pokemon that is fully covered in a red metal coating. Its head has lost most features apart from its eyes and the three spikes protruding from the occiput. The chest and abdomen have molded together, with both of them featuring black patches from the neck down and three segments from the waist down. Scyther's blades have been replaced with two-segmented claws, decorated by a yellow and black eye-like mark that give the claws the appearance of separate heads. Scizor still has transparent wings, now jointed to the body with slim metal segments.
Scizor's joints are joined to the body at well-defined places, which are thicker and rounder than the rest of the limb. Scizor's legs consist of small upper legs and thick lower legs that end in a white toe-like claw, with a smaller claw on the other side of the foot for stability.

Habitat: Scizor does not appear as a wild pokemon. The method of evolution is exclusive to Scyther that are traded while holding a metal coat, which is such a complicated method of evolution that it does not happen in the wild.

Diet: Since Scizor does not appear in the wild, its diet is regulated by the trainer. It has a preference for certain berries, and requires a daily intake of certain minerals to maintain its metal coat.

Biology: Since evolution, Scizor has gained a tremendous amount of physical power. It also had to relinquish a lot of mobility and speed, which resulted in a significantly lower base speed.
Scizor is a prime user of the move Bullet Punch, which greatly suits it due to its typing and low base speed. Some Scizor can improve the power of its signature move even further with Swords Dance and the ability Technician, which also powers up other low-powered moves.
The mechanism behind Scyther's evolution is not understood very well. It appears that in case of Scyther, the metal coat covering the body is activated due to the energy of the trade, and the activated metal fuses with Scyther's exterior. The fusion triggers evolution, and the natural mechanism appears to 'take over' and guide the metal to apparently predetermined locations and reforming the scythes into claws, finally turning Scyther into Scizor.
Scizor has the ability to Mega-evolve into Mega-Scizor using Scizorinite. Mega-Scizor's claws become more flattened and have additional teeth, which are also sharper. The lower half of the claws is now white and has three spikes on the bottom. Finally, the yellow dot has turned blue. Mega-Scizor's joints have turned black and have become more pronounced, and an additional black three-pronged feature decorates his face, giving his eyes a more determined look. The spikes on his head are now sharper and more pronounced. Mega-Scizor's legs have lost some detail, and are sharper at the bottom and broader at the top. They look like shields, and a thin leg is visible on the back of the shield, with a spike sticking out to the back.

Pokemon League Commission notes:
Class F: Due to a highly complex evolutionary mechanism, Scizor is only obtainable through the previously described method. A single Scizor, released by its trainer, may roam somewhere, but no PLC guidelines have been implemented for this case.

Pokedex Entries / [Pokedex Entry] Scyther for Roloc
« on: March 15, 2014, 01:05:46 PM »
Pokemon #123, Scyther, Bug/Flying type, Mantis pokemon.

Intro: Scyther is a very popular pokemon, that is often compared to a ninja thanks to its speed and agility. Scyther is a human-sized insect pokemon, with sharp blades instead of hands. It’s overall physical build resembles a human, but it is green and white, with a pronounced jaw, a somewhat triangular head with three pointed protrusions on top, a green egg-shaped abdomen to which its legs are connected and two thin wings on its back. Its limbs all consist from separate segments, mostly spherical and green, apart from its three-clawed feet, which are very foot-shaped.

Habitat: Scyther is a rare pokemon that lives in tropical climates, but may also be found in coastal areas with tall grass.
In the Kanto and Johto regions, Scyther is not a native pokemon, but can be found in the Safari zone and national park. Since Scyther is a popular pokemon, many of these businesses choose to import Scyther in order to attract trainers. Scyther and Pinsir actively vie for the same living spaces, so enterprises have to make the choice to house either one, but never both, in the same areas.

Diet: Scyther is a powerful and fast pokemon that resides at the top of the food chain. It will devour small animals, birds and other insects after it has caught and killed it. It will also eat berries and other fruits sometimes, and may shift its diet entirely to herbivory when necessary.

Biology: Scyther has incredibly fast movements that may prevent it from being detected by the human eye. In battle, Scyther uses these moves to create afterimages and confuse the opponent. Scyther is very proud of its speed and often knocks over things and pokemon in its path without stopping. If it is hit or disturbed by something while on the move, it will throw a tantrum and slash around before flying off. This behaviour also makes it very difficult to catch Scyther, since it does not have the patience to stick around very long.
Scyther has the ability to use Swords Dance, which it does by spinning around its entire body very quickly. Some trainers have taught their Scyther to generate currents of air with this move, blowing away fire-attacks that would otherwise severely damage Scyther. Continued use of this move leaves Scyther exhausted for a short while, but it will quickly recover and attack with increased power.
Scyther has a very light body and lithe wings. These wings allow it to fly short distances, but are unable to carry heavy weights. Due to this, Scyther is unable to fly trainers around.
Scyther is a pokemon that likes to show off its abilities to bystanders, often going the extra mile to make a battle worth viewing. This is more likely to happen if other strong pokemon are around.

Pokemon League Commission notes:
Class B: Catching Scyther in regulated environments such as the Safari Zone is often regulated by the organisation, which keep the populations at a healthy levels. Since Scyther is a very difficult to find and catch pokemon, the populations are often self-regulating, but if a trainer is catching too many Scyther, he or she may be asked to halt their activities and return some pokemon.
In their natural habitats, Scyther is often an attraction for many trainers, and local authorities will limit their catching, in order to ensure a healthy population and sustain the local Scyther-tourism.

Pokedex Entries / [Pokedex Entry] Pinsir for Roloc
« on: March 14, 2014, 05:28:06 PM »
Pokemon #127, Pinsir, Bug type, Stag Beetle Pokemon.

Intro: Pinsir is a well-loved insect pokemon that is best known for its namesake pincers. It is almost the size of a human, which is huge for an insect pokemon. It has a pale brown, elliptical body of which the bottom half is segmented. It has two triangular eyes that give it an angry outlook, and a big mouth with ten teeth that are turned sideways. It has two thin, long and segmented arms with three claws each, and two short, solid legs that also have three claws. On top of its body are two huge pincers, covered in spikes.

Habitat: Pinsir is found naturally in tropical climates befitting its body type. It may also be found in forested areas where there are sap trees, which Pinsir loves. Many zoos, safari zones and other locations have imported Pinsir from foreign countries, making it more widespread than it would naturally be.

Diet: Due to its size and power, Pinsir is at the top of most food chains and will hunt smaller and sometimes even larger prey for food. Pinsir also loves the sap that comes from certain trees.

Biology: Pinsir is a pokemon that often shares its territory with others of its species. When driven from its territory, it may invade the territory from other pokemon aggressively to claim a new habitat.
Pinsir shares a fierce rivalry with Heracross, as they fulfull the same biotope and enjoy the same tree sap. While Heracross is slightly stronger, it is also the more timid of the two and will often avoid confrontation. When push comes to shove, Heracross will be able to chase Pinsir out of its habitat, but in mixed populations, Pinsir usually comes out as the dominant species.
Pinsir is an impatient pokemon that does not like long-stretched battles or other events. If a trainer is unable to catch Pinsir quickly, it will most likely run away. In battles, this usually means that Pinsir uses its tremendous power to take down opponents as quickly as possible or get knocked out in the process of trying. Its impatience to deal with troublesome abilities has led to the evolution of the ability Mold Breaker, which prevents opponents from using certain abilities.
Pinsir will try to grab and crush opponents with its pincers in battle, and throw away an opponent it is unable to crush.
Pinsir is a rare and popular pokemon often sought after by collectors. Due to this, many commercial enterprises have granted trainers the opportunity to catch Pinsir, such as the Safari Zone and the Game Corner.
Pinsir has the ability to Mega-Evolve into Mega-Pinsir. Mega-Pinsir has two angry, yellow eyes, larger horns with larger spikes, and larger claws in general. It also gains two orange, transparent wings which come from under its back shell, which is now split in two and open. The shell wings have gained two orange spikes each.
Pinsir is a cold-blooded pokemon that gets sluggish as the temperature rises. This has caused most Pinsir to move to warmer, more tropical climates. In colder climates, Pinsir bury themselves in soil when the temperature drops at night.

Pokemon League Commission notes:
Class B: Pinsir is a rare pokemon that is not found in most regions and can only be caught in specially set-up zones or parks.
Special Safari teams are sent out to Pinsir habitats to conservatively and sustainably catch Pinsir in from their natural environments for trainers to catch in Safari zones. Special permits are necessary for those teams and any trainer without such a permit are not allowed to catch Pinsir in their natural environment.
