Pokemon #478, Froslass, Ice/Ghost type, Snow Land pokemon

Intro: Froslass is an elegant pokemon that appears as though it is dressed in a white kimono. Its purple head is covered by a white shell that is shaped like a sideways droplet. The white shell has two big round holes where Froslass’ yellow and blue eyes are, which also show part of her purple head, as well as a diamond-shaped hole in the middle. Two horn-like ice crystals are on top of the head.
The sides of the white shell extend into white, draping arms that look like sleeves. Three small fingers are at the end of each arm, and the arms are decorated with a light-blue hexagon and a finn-like shape.
The body is hollow, and looks like a slim, white body without legs or arms, with a large red ribbon tied around the middle.

Habitat: Froslass dwells in mountainous regions, often only seen during winter when there is snow. Since the occurrence of Froslass requires a Dawn Stone, Froslass is only spotted as a wild pokemon in regions where these stones appear naturally.

Diet: Froslass is not known to naturally consume anything for sustenance, but she may consume rare candies, poffins, pokeblocks and berries when these are presented to her by a trainer.

Biology: Froslass’ internal temperature is roughly -50 °C. It is able to use its breath at that temperature as a weapon to freeze opponents. It is said that Froslass keeps a collection of frozen victims in its lair. Froslass is able to use illusions to throw pursuers off track and lead helpless victims to their doom.
In battle, Froslass relies mostly on trickery and speed to outwit its opponents. Moves like Confuse Ray, Destiny Bond, Double Team and Icy Wind all come naturally to Froslass and she is proficient with all. Froslass also has a wide plethora of damaging moves such as Blizzard, Shadow Ball. These moves are supplemented with Wake-Up Slap and electrical attacks such as Thunderbolt, which broaden Froslass' coverage to allow a good match-up against most pokemon.
Froslass' elegance is sometimes used in special and traditional performances, which trainers and other people in the audience often describe as 'captivating'. Indeed, Froslass uses these dance moves to Captivate and confound opponents as well as viewers of shows and battles.
Froslass is said to be the spirit of a woman who was lost in the mountains. The entire history of this event is described in the following section.

History*:
Once upon a time, there was a woman whose name was lost with the ages. The woman had just been wed with the love of her life, and they were on their way home in a carriage. A tragic accident caused the husband to fall from the carriage, plunging to his death even before they had shared their wedding night.
The woman was stricken with grief. Feeling that she would be unable to join her husband in death, she set out on a journey into the snow-covered mountains, seeking her demise. “My beautiful white kimono would surely prevent anyone from finding me in the snow”, she thought.
It was there, while the freezing grasp of winter was taking hold of her, that she was found by the legendary pokemon Articuno. She recognised the pokemon as the savior of those lost in the mountains, and pleaded to him: “Please! Articuno! Do not save me! Let me embrace death here. I no longer have the desire to live, and instead wish to join my husband in the afterlife.”
Although he was deeply saddened by her words, Articuno complied with her wish, and decided to watch over her in her last moments.
As she was on the verge of death, her spirit was able to connect with her husband’s. He spoke to her from the afterlife:
“My beautiful wife. I am filled with joy that I may share these parting words with you, but it would only bring me sadness if you were to join me in death already. You still have the potential to life a great and significant life without me. Please live on to the fullest in my memory. I will love you forever and come back for you when it is truly your time to join me.”
Hearing these words, the woman immediately changed her mind about her dying wish. However, her body was already too far gone to be saved.
Articuno, with his mind reading ability, sensed the womans change of mind. With his mythical powers, he bestowed upon the woman’s spirit, the form of a pokemon, resurrecting her with his icy powers.
The woman shed her mortal form and became Froslass, the first of her species. The woman was truly happy with her newly given chance to fulfill her late husband’s dying wish. Her happiness manifested itself as a pokemon egg. From this egg, Snorunt was born, who to this day still remains a symbol of happiness and prosperity.
However, with the passing of her feelings on to this child, Froslass was unable to fully pass on her spiritual powers. While she birthed many more Snorunt, none of them was her equal. Many of them would eventually evolve into Glalie, an incomplete reflection of Froslass’ grace and being. This did not sadden Froslass, as she valued each Glalie and Snorunt in their own right. It was not until many years after the first Froslass had rejoined her husband in the afterlife, that a female Snorunt came across a Dawn Stone. The unfulfilled spiritual potential, that was left in all female members of the species, was catalyzed by the stone, which allowed her to finally return into the form of her ancestor, bringing the origin of the pokemon full circle.

The PLC advises all trainers who go on a suicidal quest to catch a wild Froslass to not even attempt this feat. Froslass are extremely rare, very protective of their territory and their ability to use illusions to throw trainers off track has led to the demise of even the better prepared trainers. The PLC is not afraid of losing the wild population of Froslass rather than losing the lives of trainers trying to. Trainers are instead advised to catch or breed Snorunt and use a Dawn Stone to obtain Froslass.

Pokemon #229, Houndoom, Dark/Fire type, Dark Pokemon.

Houndoom is a dark, canine pokemon of the night that strikes fear into the hearts of friends and foes alike. It has a smooth, black body with four legs. It has an orange mouth and belly, and a black, devil-like tail. Its head is decorated with two curled, bone-like horns, and similar decorations resembling ribs are found arounds its neck and on its back. It also has two bone-like rings on each of its three-toed paws. A small skull-like decoration on its chest is a finishing touch.

Habitat: Houndoom may be rarely found leading packs of Houndour in volcanic regions, as well as the suburbs of Goldenrod City.

Diet: Houndoom has a strict diet of meat, which it hunts on its own or in a pack. It will also eat common pokemon food such as berries.

Biology: Houndoom’s howl is known to spread fear into the hearts of all that know it. When an alpha Houndoom howls, the rest of the pack is typically intimidated as a side-effect.
Houndoom has several toxins residing in its body, which are expelled when it breathes fire. As a result, Houndoom’s flame will permanently damage the target and the pain of the flame will never go away. Scientists have traced the effect of the toxins, and they were found to have a severely damaging effect on neurons. Due to the severity of the damage, the pain cannot be removed with a single medicine, and limb amputation is also pointless due to phantom pains. New developments in neuron transplantation have been shown to be an effective cure for the pain, but it should be noted that this is an expensive treatment. A pokemon that is damaged by this move can simply be cured in a Pokemon center to full recovery.
Although Houndoom is typically known to be a fierce and ruthless pokemon, especially in a pack, individual specimens were shown to have a protective attitude towards small, helpless pokemon. This behavior is shown more often in Houndoom which have a trainer, rather than wild specimens.
After a close bond has been forged with the trainer, Houndoom has the ability to Mega-Evolve using Houndoominite. Mega-Houndoom is covered in bone-like armor, which is shaped like two tusks on the side, and has two blade-like extensions pointing up and two pointing to the side of its neck. The bones on its back now fully resemble a spine, and the rings on its hind legs have vanished. Houndooms horns now have an upturned, demonic appearance. It’s tail has split into two. Formerly a night-dweller, Mega-Houndoom is now fully able to make use of the Sun’s energy, resulting in the ability Solar Power.

Class B: Houndoom is a pokemon that is rarely found in the wild, and most of the wild pokemon have an alpha-role in packs of Houndour. Although sometimes local authorities may put out a bounty for catching the leader of a particularly troublesome pack of Houndour, catching of Houndoom is usually restricted to prevent escalation of pack quarrels. Lone Houndoom may be caught restrictedly.

Pokemon #222, Corsola, Water/Rock type, Coral Pokemon

Corsola is a gentle pokemon that is known for its prized coral growths, and for harboring the town of Pacifidlog. Corsola is a pink, round pokemon with a white underside and some white spots on the sides. Corsola has 4 large, branched growths on its back, and a single smaller horn-like stump on its forehead. It has two small arms and four small white legs. It is typically seen with a cheerful demeanor.

Habitat: Corsola typically lives in the oceanic regions with shallow water, slow currents and a warm environment. Large populations of Corsola thrive in these environments, while smaller populations may be found in cooler areas. Corsola colonies are an indication of a healthy environment, as it is unable to live in polluted areas.

Food: Corsola is able to sift plankton and algea from the currents of the ocean water. It feeds on these microscopic organisms.

Biology: As mentioned before, Corsola are unable to live in polluted environments. Corsola’s branches decolorate and lose their structural integrity due to pollution, and often crumble off.
Corsola are able to grow and expand in the right conditions. Their branches grow quickly and Corsola sheds these several times in the course of weeks. In the case of a very healthy environment, the shed branches may aggregate on the ocean floor and create large piles that may be used as settlements for other pokemon and even humans. Pacifidlog Town is the best-known settlement of this type. Pacifidlog Town was long thought to be built solely on living Corsola, but deep probing revealed that the inside of the colony was actually a collection of Corsola sheddings. The quick regeneration of the branches has allowed Corsola to develop the move recover, as well as the ability natural cure.
Corsola has evolved its ability to quickly regrow its branches in order to deal with erosion from the currents. Naturally, a Corsola will retain roughly the same size, though environments with slow currents will allow it to grow quickly
Corsola’s branches are very valuable and treasured by many as gems of the ocean. Since healthy Corsola grow quickly and shed their branches many times, Corsola farms have arisen in certain areas. The PLC and the Pokemon Health Organisation do not allow farmers to keep large populations in order to protect the well-being of the pokemon. Additionally, the farms are self-regulating, since a farm that abuses Corsola will quickly find out that the lack of coral growth will severely kill profits. Additionally, any such a farm will be heavily fined, but the general trend is that Corsola farmers treat their pokemon exceptionally well.

Corsola is a pokemon that multiplies quickly in healthy environments, so catching is usually unrestricted. The people of Pacifidlog have specifically requested a restriction of Corsola over-fishing in the region, since a lack of Corsola may cause instabilities of the village. In areas with less beneficial conditions for Corsola, catching may be restricted.

Pokemon #19. Rattata, normal type, Rat pokemon.

Intro: Rattata is one of the most wide-spread pokemon known. It’s a small purple rodent with two big front teeth, or fangs, and a curled tail, and a white underside, most people will instantly recognise a Rattata. It has three toes on each of its four paws and two whiskers on its nose, one on each side. It uses its fangs as its primary weapon.

Habitat: Rattata is very widespread and can be found all over the world. In open plains, forests, near mountainous regions, sometimes even in caves, there are few pokemon that have so many territories.

Diet: Rattata likes to eat nuts, fruits, cheese and berries. It will take any opportunity it can to scavenge food from travelers.

Biology: Rattata is a small pokemon that is mostly known for the fact that every starting trainer has one. Rattata is not particularly strong, smart or fast, but it has some very powerful moves, for which it uses its fangs. It also has some ability to charge its fur with static electricity, which allows it to use electrical moves. Additionally, Rattata can use some other elemental attacks such as Ice Beam, but Rattata is less talented at elemental attacks compared to other normal-type pokemon.
Rattata’s fangs grow continuously, so it has the need to constantly chew on everything in order to whittle them down. If it does not have the opportunity to do so, the length of the teeth will cause injuries to itself.
Rattata is a very cautious and quick pokemon, fleeing from most predators and trainers with ease.
Although the variation in power between Rattata is not any different from any other pokemon, new trainers will overestimate the power of a slightly more powerful Rattata. There is some unique terminology used only by Rattata trainers, one particular term being ‘top percentage’.

Pokemon #251, Celebi, Grass/Psychic type, Time Travel pokemon

Intro: Celebi is the coveted guardian of Ilex forest, and said to be an envoy of peaceful era’s. Celebi is a small, fairy-like, light green pokemon. It has small wings and a droplet-shaped head with two light-green antenna with blue tips. It has large, bright blue eyes with black circles and a cheerful demeanor. The end of its head appears to consist from several strands with bright green highlights. It has a small, bright green body and two light-green arms with three small claw-like fingers.

Habitat: Although Celebi has no officially registered habitat, it is known to typically dwell in forests. Especially Ilex forest is apparently a choice location, since one of the few recorded sightings of Celebi have been here.

Diet: Celebi is known to crave certain types of berries. It will go as far as to hasten the flowering, pollination and ripening of the fruit using temporal manipulation in order to eat these.

Celebi has the power to control plants and nature, restructuring it and ripening fruit to fulfil its own needs. Celebi’s presence causes plants to flourish and nature to be restored completely.
Celebi’s ability to travel through time has caused the research on its origin to reach a dead end, and escalate into philosophical debate. There exists the possibility that Celebi originates in the future, where eons of evolution allowed it to reach a pinnacle of existence in the abilty to travel through time. This ability would then allow it to travel to any era and spread its influence through history. It may also have originated alongside the original pokemon mew and Arceus.
In one report, a Celebi was caught and exploited by a team Rocket executive. Reports mention that this led to severe physical abuse of the Celebi, which eventually led to its demise. The Celebi was then resurrected thanks to the summoning of many of its kin, which reversed the flow of time and the demise of the Celebi. The appearance of many Celebi was also the topic of much debate. Next to the possibility that many Celebi were summoned from many periods of time, or from a parallel dimension that exists outside our time, it is also possible that only a single Celebi exists, infinitely interacting with itself in many eras, and extending its own life indefinitely. Since there is no way to prove any of these theories, the debate will continue.
Celebi’s ability to travel through time was shown to be transferrable with specialized equipment. The transfer of this ability to a human vessel allowed the human to see into the future until the power ran out. The transfer of this power completely stripped the surrounding environment of all life and the act was branded as a crime against nature, pokemon and humanity.
In direct combat, Celebi is able to reverse time and heal its own injuries. It’s signature move is Future Sight.

Class A: Since the use of a Celebi has proven to possibly have destructive consequences for entire environments, catching of Celebi is strictly prohibited. Additionally, the prime directive states that no human interference in timelines is allowed, in order to secure the existence of the present, and a trainer using a Celebi to travel through time is in direct conflict with this law.
Celebi is known to sometimes choose a trainer to follow in a quest of great significance. Using temporal anomaly tracking, it was recorded that the hero Gold used Celebi's power to travel to the past and prevent the uprising of Team Rocket's Giovanni. Since this involved a matter of national safety, the PLC has retroactively juged this use of Celebi's power as admissable.

Pokemon #129, Magikarp, water type, Fish Pokemon.

Intro: Magikarp is a ubiquitous fish pokemon that is mostly known for its absolute lack of any skills whatsoever. Magikarp is mostly red, with yellow, crown-shaped pelvic and dorsal fins. It has two yellow whiskers on its face, and its gaze is typically set to infinity.
Magikarp's sole redeeming feature is its ability to evolve into Gyarados.

Habitat: Magikarp's presence is ubiquitous in all bodies of water. Any trainer with an old rod will undoubtebly encounter one anywhere, be it in salt or sweet water.

Diet: Magikarp eats mostly algea. It may sometimes snack upon the worm at the end of a fishing hook.

Biology: Evolution has left Magikarp as a pokemon that is utterly useless. Magikarp has a tremendous splashing ability that allows it to scale waterfalls and even mountains, but due to its inferior swimming ability, it tends to end up downstream again, unable to swim against the current. In the course of battle, any regular Magikarp will not do anything but splash around. After rigorous training, a Magikarp will learn the ability to use the move tackle, but it is typically unable to KO any opponent with it, due to its lack of power, defence and endurance.
Magikarp’s reproduction is the fastest of all pokemon. A Magikarp egg also hatches the quickest. This has allowed trainers to quickly and efficiently breed Magikarp in order to have the strongest Gyarados.
Magikarp as a prey may splash out of the water several feet, which allows predators such as Pidgeot to simply pick them out of the air. However, since Magikarp are made mostly of bones and scales, they are inedible for most pokemon, and often dropped and released again.
Magikarp is a very hardy pokemon with a terrific immune system, that allows it to live in virtually any body of water. This, in combination with their breeding rates and status as an inedible prey, has led to their omnipresence.
There have been reports of Magikarp that grew huge and were able to inflict some damage on opponents thanks to their increased physical power. These cases are very rare.
Although Magikarp are usually docile, constant pummeling and physical abuse may force it into evolution, leaving the abuser with an enraged Gyarados to deal with.
Magikarp is able to learn the move Flail at level 30. Although Magikarp's own power is too low to be of any significant use, Magikarp enthousiasts have been able to boost Magikarp's power to tremendous levels with certain battle techniques. In combination with Flail's incredible power when the user is at 1 HP, this power has wiped out entire parties. The opponents of the Magikarp were left flabberghasted and doubting their own eyes. In some cases, the shame of a Magikarp sweep will urge trainers to rethink their trainer career. Magikarp that were able to accomplish such a feat are usually dubbed Kriticarp.

Class D: Magikarp is ubiquitous, and even unplanned disasters that made other pokemon populations dwindle, such as pollution, have yet to have an effect on the Magikarp population.

Pokemon #14, Kakuna, Cocoon Pokemon, Bug/Poison type.

Introduction: Kakuna is the evolved version of Weedle. It is a yellow or brown cocoon with a conical body and a clearly defined head with two triangular, black eyes.
The body consists of multiple layers and an abdomen. It also has a specific segment that looks like Kakuna is wearing a tie, which is actually the outline of the future beedrill's arms and drills.

Habitat: Kakuna lives in forested areas, hanging from trees on a silk strand. In some areas, Kakuna can be seen hanging from cave ceilings.

Diet: Kakuna does not eat anything during its short period of existence. Wild Kakuna are mostly immobile and can only harden their exterior as a means of defence.
Kakuna that evolved from Weedle in the presence of a trainer retain the ability to use the moves Poison Sting, String Shot and Bug Bite. The use of the move Bug Bite is a mystery, since Kakuna has no mouth to bite with or to consume the berries is steals with Bug Bite. The poison stings and strings are expelled from the abdomen, which Kakuna is able to move slightly.
Kakuna hanging from silk strands are able to lenghten and shorten the strand at will, in order to control suspension height. A sudden tremor or shock causes Kakuna to temporarily lose control and lenghten the strand.

PLC classification: Kakuna is a Class D pokemon, with no restrictions on catching, as populations are typically plentiful.
