Pokedex Entries / Re: [Pokedex Entry] Heracross
« on: May 12, 2014, 05:58:32 PM »
Mega-Heracross has several significant changes, mostly improvements, over its regular form. Its primary improvement is its enormous increase in attack power. Mega-Heracross' attack is easily amongst the highest in all the pokemon kingdom. Additionally, Mega-Heracross' ability has changed to Skill Link, which allows it to use powerful moves such as Rock Blast, and to a lesser extent Pin Missle, optimally. After Mega-evolution, Heracross has sacrificed a little speed in order to gain a tremendous amount of power.

You can go ahead and copy-paste that if you want to :)

Pokedex Entries / [Pokedex Entry] Cleffa
« on: May 12, 2014, 05:53:27 PM »
Pokemon #173, Cleffa, Normal Type, Star-shape pokemon.

Intro: Cleffa is the pre-evolved version of Clefairy. Cleffa looks somewhat like a star, with its two pink pointy legs, its pink twirl and its two brown horn-like appendages. It has two pointy arms without digits, and a pink, thick and twirly tail. It has two small, beady eyes, a tiny mouth and what seems to be a permanent blush. Cleffa is considered to be amongst the most adorable pokemon in the world.

Habitat: Cleffa is barely ever seen in any environment. It is speculated that populations are amongst those of Clefairy, but Cleffa has as of yet only been observed at Mt. Coronet.

Diet: Cleffa's natural feeding habits have not been observed, but they are known to eat regular poke-foods such as poffins, rare candies, pokebock and others.

Biology: Cleffa is a pokemon that is said to have arrived on a shooting star. When a meteor strikes somewhere, the chance of finding Cleffa rises exponentially. It is not known whether Cleffa are drawn to meteor strikes, or whether a new Cleffa reachers earth with said meteor strike. Amusingly, Cleffa and its family are able to learn the move Meteor Mash, which hints towards its extraterrestrial origins.
When a night is particularly full of falling stars, Cleffa are said to dance the night away, only stopping at daybreak to quench their thirst with morning dew.
In certain regions, Cleffa cannot be found although Clefairy can be. It is thought that Cleffa live a sheltered life away from human activity untill they are old enough and have evolved. The only way to obtain this pokemon for trainers is to breed Clefairy.
This way of obtaining Cleffa is somewhat contradictory. Cleffa only evolves into Clefairy at a certain level of friendship and bonding. Additionally, there are not items required for Cleffa to be the offspring of Clefairy, which is needed for pokemon such as Munchlax, Azurill, etc. One would on the ground of these observations, expect wild populations to be full of Cleffa rather than Clefairy. It is hypothesized that Cleffa can evolve into Clefairy after reaching the same level of bonding with its parents, as it would with a trainer. This would explain the lack of Cleffa in most environments.

Pokemon League Commission notes:
Class F. Although Cleffa can be obtained in the wild very rarely, the PLC has judged breeding to be the most viable way of obtaining Cleffa, with all others being negligible.

I saw this entry and I seriously though I'd already did this pokemon, but it was just Pinsir :p

Apart from some minor spelling mistakes, I'd say this entry is pretty good. I do think your biology section is a bit short. Maybe you can take a look at my Pinsir section, I'm quite sure there's a bit more to say about Heracross than this. Especially since the Mega-Heracross part is just a description and doesn't actually say anything about the pokemon's powers.
I do like the things you wrote though.

I wouldn't mind if they made another RBY remake just so I can play the game after the physical/special split :p

I hope it's not a complete rebuild of the world. Ruby and Sapphire were the last games in which the contests were actually fun to do and exciting to breed for and rewarding to perfect with the paintings and all. Since Gen 4 they just kept adding bullpoop untill they just gave up and went with the awful, awful musicals (In case you hadn't noticed, I really, really liked the original contests).
Additionally, the original secret bases were awesome, and I liked the berry planting. Moreover, Gen III had the most challenging pokemon league IIRC.

BTW Going for Omega Ruby because my little brother prefers Kyogre.

Pokedex Entries / [Pokedex Entry] Aerodactyl
« on: May 07, 2014, 08:41:32 PM »
Pokemon #142, Aerodactyl, Rock/Flying type, Fossil pokemon.

Intro: Aerodactyl was an extinct pokemon that was revived using DNA extracted from Old Amber. These days, Aerodactyl are a rare sight amongst elite trainers, and some can even be found in certain regions very rarely. Aerodactyl is a large grey pokemon with purple wings membranes. It has two wings with small, three-fingered hands close to the end, as well as two two-toed legs and a long tail with a arrow-head shaped end. Aerodactyl’s mouth is rather large, and is filled with razor-sharp teeth. It has two spike-shaped protrusions on the back of its head.

Habitat: Though Aerodactyl is officially regarded as extinct, fervent trainers have released many newborn Aerodactyl into the wild after breeding. These pokemon now find their home in mountainous regions.

Diet: Aerodactyl’s is primarily carnivorous, and will use its fangs to rip apart prey to consume its meat. However, it will also happily eat some fruits, so it’s not completely carnivorous.

Biology: Aerodactyl is amongst the fastest pokemon in the world. With its light-weight build and its powerful wings, it is able to reach speeds that even legendary pokemon cannot match. In ancient times, its unmatched speed made it the King of the skies.
Aerodactyl’s entire build seems made for hunting. Its serrated teeth are ideal for ripping apart prey, its talons and sharp claws can pick up most animals, and its powerful wings can carry them very far. In combination with its speed, most prey were incapable of escaping.
In ancient times, Aerodactyl glided through the air while screeching high-pitched cries most of the time, striking fear into any prey below it.
Under the influence of Aerodactylite, Aerodactyl can Mega-evolve into Mega-Aerodactyl.
Mega-Aerodactyl’s build is roughly that of Aerodactyl, but it has rock-like protrusions all over its body. Especially its hands have been replaced by large rocks. The rocks come from its wings, back, tail, chin and the back of its head. Its eyebrows are also thicker and black, and three stripes have appeared on its chest. Mega-Aerodactyl boasts the rare ability Though Claws, which increases the power of all contact moves considerably.
It is quite difficult to identify the parts of Aerodactyl that make it a rock-type. After closer inspection, it was discovered that Aerodactyl’s skin is rough like sandpaper. Though the texture gives it higher aerodynamic properties, it also grants a weakness to water, as is usual with rock-types.

Pokemon League Commission notes:
Class F. Aerodactyl is regarded unobtainable through regular means. A trainer may find an Old Amber in the Sinnoh underground, Mount Moon or another site, and resurrect it with modern technology according to the regular PLC guidelines.  All resurrected pokemon need to be registered in order to keep track of them.

Pokedex Entries / Re: [Pokedex Entry] Arcanine
« on: May 07, 2014, 08:16:22 PM »
My edit on this entry. No approval of Triloog yet, but I just wanted to get it out here.

Pokemon #59, Arcanine, Fire Type, Legendary Pokemon.

Intro:
Arcanine is the evolved version of Growlithe, and is a proud and majestic Pokémon that is well known for its beauty and speed. Arcanine is a large, quadruped, canine Pokémon. Most of his fur is orange, with black stripes on his paws and back. The hairs on his head, around his mouth, on his belly and on his tail are longer and cream-colored. The same goes for hair behind the ankles of his front paws and around the ankles of his back paws. His paws each have three toes. His nose looks like a rounded triangle, he has two sharp, pointy teeth, a pink tongue and pointy ears. There have been sightings of yellow Arcanine. This was the result of damaged genetic code in early foetal stages which resulted in a less warm, yellow color.

Diet:
Arcanine originate from carnivorous ancestors. Over the centuries, living closely to men adapted their eating pattern and turned them from carnivorous into omnivorous. Trainers should keep in mind that Arcanine are large Pokémon and that not feeding them meat will result in having to feed them much more non-meat food. Arcanine in the wild live on a calorie-rich diet of mostly meat.

Habitat:
Docile Arcanine are often found near humans, in cities and villages. Wild Arcanine are sometimes found on the prairies and in active volcanoes. There have also been sightings of Arcanine near roads with families.

Biology:
Records showed that this Pokémon is able to run 10.000 kilometers in one day. There was a time when people were not sure whether he ran or flew. Due to their majestic appearance, people once thought that Arcanine was one of the Legendary Pokémon, close to Articuno, Moltres and Zapdos. It’s ability to use Dragon-type moves such as Dragon Rage also attributed to this myth.
Wild and domesticated Arcanine are physically the same, but differ in behavioral patterns. While domesticated Arcanine value their trainer and other pokemon companions most, wild Arcanine value their freedom most. They move from human-made structures such as buildings and roads to the prairie, where they can roam freely. The open prairie gives Arcanine space to practice its signature move, Extremespeed. It also provides the relatively large amount of oxygen Arcanine consumes, due to its internal flame and fire-type moves.
Arcanine carries a permanent flame inside of its body. It is believed that their orange fur resembles this flame.
When breeding season starts, Arcanine migrate to active volcanoes. The heat helps the female Arcanine to create another flame in her body that will manifest into a Growlithe.
Arcanine can use a wide range of moves in addition to its fire and normal moves, such as Close Combat as a fighting move, Wild Bolt and Thunder Fang as electric moves, and Solar Beam as a grass type move.

Pokemon League Commission notes:
Arcanine is a qualified as a Class F Pokémon under the Pokemon League Commission notes. Growlithe can only evolve using a fire stone, so wild Arcanine are almost non-existant.

Pokedex Entries / Re: [Pokedex Entry] Whiscash
« on: May 07, 2014, 08:15:29 PM »
my adapted version. No approval of Triloog on this version yet but I just wanted to get it out there.

Pokemon #340, Whiscash, Water/Ground Type, Whiskers Pokémon.

Average measurements:
Height: 2’11” or 0.9 m.
Weight: 52.0 lbs. or 23.6 kg.

Intro:
Whiscash is a large catfish Pokémon. Most of his skin is dark blue. It has four oval fins on the lower side of its body. Two large fins are on the front, the small fins are on the back. These four fins are dark blue. Whiscash also has a large, oval dorsal fin on its back. This fin is heart-shaped and light blue with three dark blue circles that form a triangle. Whiscash has two eyes, a large light blue mouth with two large, light blue barbels, and two large, yellow whiskers. Its forehead shows a large, yellow W.

Diet:
Whiscash eats anything that he encounters, as long as it moves and is alive. Smaller Pokémon are not safe inside its territory. It also eats lots of other things, such as berries and inanimate objects. The only thing it does not immediately eat are Rindo berries. Through experience, Whiscash have learned that they need these berries to protect themselves from grass attacks, which are extremely effective against it.

Habitat:
Whiscash have a big territory and are found in watery areas such as large ponds or swamps, often on the bottom.

Biology:
Whiscash is known for its earthquakes. Experience with creating earthquakes makes Whiscash able to sense earthquakes with its whiskers, and even able to sense them before they happen. Some Whiscash develop the ability to predict other things in the future, giving them the ability to use the move Future Sight.
It is a very territorial Pokémon, which will claim a big territory, usually by making a big ruckus and creating a lot of earthquakes. It will also cause earthquakes when his surroundings are invaded. If Whiscash is left alone, it will usually not cause any problems.
Living in water also keeps him from dehydrating, although it can survive outside water for short periods of time.
It feeds itself during night time. Since it’s such a large Pokémon, it needs to feed itself continuously during waking hours. Whiscash uses its barbels to help find food in the dark, which is necessary at night. It sleeps during the day in the mud, where it will awaken when it senses a tremor.
When this Pokémon is trained properly, his sensitivity for vibrations can be concentrated into its whiskers to form sparks and help the Pokémon to learn the move Spark.

Pokemon League Commission notes:
Class D. Though Whiscash is an evolved pokemon, they are plentiful enough to not have any catching restrictions. On the contrary, catching Whiscash is encouraged, since one individual will claim a large territory, and territorial disputes between Whiscash can be very damaging to the environment due to their use of the move Earthquake.

Hey, another contributer in the pokedex section! :D welcome!

Pokedex Entries / Re: [Pokedex Entry] Azurill
« on: April 29, 2014, 06:25:39 PM »
I tried to improve upon this entry:

Pokemon #298, Azurill, Normal/Fairy Type, Polka Dot Pokémon.

Average measurements:
Height: 0’08” or 0.2 m.
Weight: 4.4 lbs. or 2.0 kg.

Intro:
Azurill is the pre-evolved form of Marill and Azumarill, and was discovered somewhat recently.
Azurill is a small, biped mouse Pokémon. Most of its skin is blue, except for two small white circles on its cheek, and the inside of its round ears which are pink. Azurill carries a blue ball with him, which is about the same size of the rest of the Pokémon. This ball is quite bouncy. The ball is attached to his body with a black zigzag tail.

Diet:
Azurill commonly don’t have to eat much, since their ball provides them with most of the nutrients they need. Nonetheless, they often eat berries.

Habitat:
Azurill are often found in or near watery areas such as pools, lakes, rivers and the sea. When they become older, they start to use their balls to bounce on land, and are also found further away in grassy areas. There have also been sightings of Azurill in forests and on ranches.

Biology:
Azurill’s ball has several uses, one of these usage is movement. Azurill uses its tail for jumping by throwing it and getting pulled by it, or for movement by bouncing on its ball. Azurill can also use the ball to float on water. Another use are the nutrients inside the ball. Azurill needs these nutrients to grow and to become a Marill later on. It absorbs the nutrients by pumping them into its body, which is achieved by bouncing on the ball. The last known use is attacking with it by throwing their ball to an opponent.
Although Azurill is not a water pokemon, it has no trouble with swimming, although it takes some time to fully develop its swimming skills.
When they become older, they become more used to bouncing with their balls and get more stamina to be able to bounce longer. This gets them further away. After a year, Azurill starts to look around the area more and more and develops an interest for round things that resemble their ball. They instinctively know that their ball provides them with nutrients and will eat similar things, such as berries.
Scientists are still confused over why Azurill is not a water-type while his parents are. It is speculated that when the nutrients of the ball are consumed, the ball slowly fills itself with water. The water in the ball slowly manifests as water powers which help Azurill to learn moves such as Bubblebeam and Surf. It needs to be in the vicinity of open water to fully develop these skills.

Pokemon League Commission notes:
Class D. In recent activity, Azurill has been downgraded from class F to class D. The limitation of obtaining Azurill by breeding Marill or Azumarill with a Sea Incense still holds ground, but for some reason, Azurill has been sighted in certain environments more often. This may be because populations of Marill have obtained a Sea Incense, but this has not been confirmed. In regions where Azurill appear, catching is unrestricted.

Pokedex Entries / Re: [Pokedex Entry] Grumpig
« on: April 29, 2014, 06:14:22 PM »
I tried my best to make an improvement, with help of Triloog.

Pokemon #326, Grumpig, Psychic Type, Manipulate Pokémon.

Average measurements:
Height: 2’11” or 0.9 m.
Weight: 157.6 lbs. or 71.5 kg.

Intro:
Grumpig is a purple and black pig-like Pokémon with psychic abilities. It has three black pearls on its body that amplify its psychic powers. Its powers come from a combination of eating strange mushrooms and black pearls.
Grumpig is a medium, biped Pokémon that resembles a pig. The core of his body is purple. He has two eyes, a pink snout, a mouth and two black ears. The inside of its ears are pink. He has two black pearls on its head.
His arms and legs are black. Each leg has two purple claws and each arm has three purple claws. He has a small, black pearl as a belly button. The bottom of his body is black, with the purple part starting at the pearl on his belly.

Diet:
Grumpig have a very varied diet, and they prefer mushrooms. Most of these mushrooms grow inside mountains.

Habitat:
Grumpig is rarely found as a leader of packs of Spoink. These populations usually life on mountains, where their favorite mushrooms grow.

Biology:
Grumpig originates from other mountain-pigs, that walked on four legs. Living in the mountains gave them a varied diet.
Grumpig’s diet includes hallucinogenic mushrooms, which are also very nutricious, but cause confusion. Grumpig are often seen carrying persim berries to counter the confusion caused by the mushrooms.
Over the years, Grumpig has learned to use the hallucinogenic mushrooms to awaken psychic powers. Through evolution, their bodies started developing black pearls that help channel their powers. These pearls take a long time to develop, and only show after evolution from Spoink.
Grumpig’s heart is still unable to keep itself beating. Grumpig has countered the need for constant bouncing by amplifying all but the smallest shocks from its surroundings into heart pulses using its black pearls.
To further amplify the effect of its pearls, Grumpig performs a strange dance that grants him control over his opponents’ body. The dance is wondrous to behold and has become popular amongst trainers and other people alike.
Using the pearls for psychic powers and to keep its heart beating at the same time puts a strain on Grumpig, which causes it to get tired quickly. this is why Grumpig’s breathing gets heavy while using its powrs.

Pokemon League Commission notes:
Grumpig is classified as a class B Pokémon. They are very rare. It is not very often that wild Spoink gain enough experience to evolve into a Grumpig. Since Grumpig often take on the alpha role in a community of Spoink, capturing one may cause chaos. However, since most communities of Spoink can manage themselfs without a Grumpig just fine, catching is not completely restricted.

@Xetroc It's fine really. If you have stuff like school that you have to do stuff for, I can't expect you to be active all the time. I would appreciate it, however, if you were to announce such a period of inactivity by replying on your own pokedex thread or PM'ing me or whatever. I mean I can probably extrapolate stuff from your inactivity, but I prefer to just get a message, that's all.

@Roloc Thanks, I'll make a list of entries that I'll be working on starting next week. I'd do some stuff this weekend but I have a couple of MTG prereleases to attend plus the King's day flee market which I have to scour for foil pokemon cards so yeah.
