It truly depends on the pokemon, but for the most part yes.

I'd rather have a Garados then a Magikarp
I'd rather have a Charizard then a Charmander
and I'd rather have a Cloyster then a Shellder

However, I'd rather have a Pikachu then a Raichu (like most people)
and I'd rather have a Skitty then a Delcatty
Eevees are debatable, as I love every form of Eevee, including Eevee him/herself.


Then again the only pokemon I normally don't evolve are the ones that I remember as a Child wanting to sit on my shoulder as I strut down the sidewalk into a forest readying myself for my first badge.

So yes I do evolve 95% of my pokemon.

I'm very much with the idea of just showing people, that you donated, but not acually getting any advantages.  Oh, and seals (the sparkly pokeball things) should be avalible to everyone, just those, wo donated could get maybe more advanced or diffrent ones.
Well I kind of meant it in that way. A special one that a person who donates would get.


Then again that still leads to the slight thought of "trade" which might be illegal.

However... I always thought it was written as "Silph Scope" :P

One very little thing: the story is a little cliche (that is the fact that it deals with ghost pokemon). Have you seen one of the first quest suggestion on PU?

I thought of that, but, I kind of wanted to stay away from that. It makes me feel like fan characters are being made and such.

Yet a fan-made game having Fan-made characters seems to make sense, now doesn't it?

Having it being his son would work out pretty well.

(I kind of like giving one choice dialogue boxes on your end. This way you know what your character is going to say, without the game typing it up for you. I've seen it done multiple times before, so it shouldn't really matter.)


Location: A pokemon cemetery.
Requirements: The most current gym badge near the placement of the cemetery.



An old man is blocking an opening in a gate. Once talked to he will say:
"I'm sorry about your lost pokemon, but I cannot allow you to pass through. It seems some strange phenomenon is going on, and the spirits of the dead now walk. I'm sorry, but it's to dangerous to let you in. Try to come back when this passes over, alright?"
...
(This part forward will activate if you have the gym badge)
Oh wait kid, listen up for a second before you leave. One of my friend's daughters seems to be giving her a lot of trouble. Pokemon trouble. You look like a trainer, and a decent one at that, perhaps you can help her out?
She's a couple houses down to the left. Big one, can't miss it."

(Change the location however you want. I just put that there.)


After finding and entering the house the daughter will be up in her room in a corner.
If you do not have the quest, her dialogue will be "..." and nothing more, but if you do have the quest:
"..."
>I heard you're having pokemon troubles? I can help you if you wish.
>I can see you're not very talkative. I'll just come back later.

"My...my kirlia...why..."
>Did something happen to her?

"They. They took her away. I'll never see her again..."
>Just calm down, and tell me what happened. I can help.

"What can you do? You're just a simple trainer!"
You show your (insert badge name here) to the little girl.

"You! You have the (Badge name)!?
...
You heard about the cemetery, correct?


>Yeah, and Ghastly's and Duskull's and such are roaming right?

The girl shakes her head.
"No. They aren't ghost pokemon. I saw it with my own two eyes. You see, I lost Kirlia's sister a while back, and she's buried there. Me and Kirlia always paid respect to her every day. When we weren't allowed in we snuck inside. Everything seemed fine at first...

The girl puts her head down.
"But as soon as we put those flowers on her grave...
They came out. Pokemon ghosts, actual pokemon ghosts, I wouldn't have believe it if I didn't see it myself. Me and Kirlia ran away in fright, as any sane person would do, but...


>...I'm guessing that Kirlia didn't make it out, right?

"That obvious huh?"

>Why didn't you tell anyone!?


"Because no one is stu- I mean...brave enough to help me out. I even asked the gym leader for help, and he ignored me. You're the only help I got.

>Alright then. You wait here. I'll get your Kirlia back.

"You're welcome to try. I doubt that old geezer will allow you in, for your own safety, but...Thank you.

From here you walk to the old man who saids:
"Did you manage to help her out, trainer?"
>It seems the ghosts in there took one of her pokemon, and I'm going to save him.

"What?! Oh this is bad... I'm going to need to get the gym lead-
He pauses, and looks at you.

"Wait a second, kid, you BEAT the Gym leader right?"
You nod.

Alright then. I'm going to allow you to go in there, but you're going to need these.

He gives you the Silph scope, and a special tag.

"Don't lose that tag and scope, kid. That's the only thing keeping you from them. You see, while some of them are the actual ghosts of pokemon, some of them are merely ghost pokemon. That tag there will keep the ghost's away from you, and that scope will show you if they're a ghost pokemon. Alright, now, you ready?

>Yes
>No

If yes: Good, and be careful.
He moves away and you enter.

If no: Alright. Come back when you are.


From here on out you'll be inside the cemetery where ghost npc's of some pokemon will walk around (they'd probably just have a blue/light blue color scheme).
If you talk to them It will read: "The ghost seems to be ignoring you"

To the first pokemon you fight it would look like an average ghost pokemon, and you'll use the Silph scope to show that it's not.
(If this would be to hard to code, then remove this.)

You will walk through the large cemetery until you reach a shed. By talking to the shed door it will read:

>You open the door to the mysterious shed. You see Kirlia curled up in a corner. Do you wish to call out to her?

>Yes
>No (Does nothing.)

>You call out to Kirlia. She looks at you and yells out in fright and backs up more to the corner. You feel a strange feeling behind you. You turn around, and see a Gengar and Dusknoir!


-You fight the two. If a pokeball is thrown, they dodge it.-

You win the fight, the two ghosts disappear.

>You call out to Kirlia again, and she walks up to you and grabs your arm.

-Kirlia get.-


HIDDEN QUEST ITEM (Take this out if you can't do it.)

Over a certain tombstone a still Gardevoir will stand still. If you don't have Kirlia it will read:
"The ghost seems to be ignoring you."
Just like any other ghost, but if you have Kirlia.

"Kirlia lets go of your arm and begins walking towards the Gardevoir spirit. The Gardevoir, ignoring you, smiles and hugs the Kirlia, who hugs back in tears. Gardevoir then hands Kirlia an item, and after obtaining the item he walks back to you and grabs your arm.

(I like it being a Gardevoir, because of evolution, but if you wish for it to be a Kirlia still, like how she died, then go ahead and change it if you wish.)





You then walk back to the town where the old man blocks the path again and saids
"While it's still a bit dangerous to go in there, the ghosts seem to be clearing up. I don't know what you did, (name), but you did a fine job."


You walk back to the daughter.

"KIRLIA!!"
She, and Kirlia hug.

I can't thank you enough for saving him, trainer.

-If you didn't acquire the hidden item.-
"Here, please, take one of these. They're my most precious, and rarist items. You deserve one."

(Choose one of two rewards)


-If hidden Item was acquired-
"Here, trainer, please take one of- Huh?"

Kirlia seems to be tugging on the girls arm.

What is it Kirlia?

Kirlia hands the daughter the item given to her by the Gardevoir spirit.

"Kirlia this is...H...how did you..How did you find-"
She notices the tears on Kirlia's face as he hugs her."

>It was given to her by a Gardevoir Spirit.

The girl gasps.
"Kirlia....
...
Thank you. Trainer. For everything. You've saved Kirlia, and you brang back the most precious item in the world to me. Please, take these. It's the least I can do."


You get both rewards

Not really as grey as you would think. Donating, of your own free will and without reward, is fairly standard. If we start offering things in exchange for these donations, we have done the equivalent of an equal trade. Which, by all means and standards, is us selling a product.

It may be slightly grey, but it would definitely be clear cut enough for an action to be taken.

You can do it like sven-co op.


If you give:
Any amount: you can make your name into a different color (something simple to show that this person donated
5dollars: You get this awesome, reusable, pokeball thing (You know the thing you attach to your pokeball so when you send them out it pops out with smoke and prettyness)
10 dollars: You get an epic jacket or cape or something.





And from then on there's nothing. perhaps a star for every 10 next to their Trainer ID, to indicate how much of a donater this person is.


This way you're not giving them much, just kind of showing "This person donated"
Then again that might be too much too. Perhaps any form of "giving" may become illegal.





I agree with FrenchFry too.
Any form of mall is bad. Even if you go for a "maplestory" format to where all you can get is cloathing.

Then you have all these standards, and this guy is blaring looking as epic as gary in a "holy poop this guy is too epic for my epic goggles i'mma goin blind" fashion.
Those people grow to obtain an E-Penis, and become complete assholes.
You also just feel bad standing next to them, even if you aren't being demeaned by them.

I mean that's how real life works. If you have this person who's standing next to you who's Hot/Handsome with this Epic body and great outfit you're going to feel....well meager.

I would rather not succumb players to almost "needing" something. That's kind of why i like the "jacket, name plate, and pokeball flash thing."

It's nothing too flashy, it's nothing huge, it's just a:
"Oh cool he donated" kind of feel. I mean when I stand next to a guy with an electric crowbar in sven co-op with double golden uzi's I don't feel any less of a player. Why? Because it's so simple.

That's the only way I could see donating being ok, though, but as I stated before I don't know if even that is "illegal"

In case you don't want to read the whole thing I made a delicious TLDR'd version just for you guys. (Too long didn't read for you people out there.)

TLDR; Pokemon are not animals. They are only shaped like them some of the time, and so you think they are. Just because they are on all fours, and eat pellets, doesn't mean they're animals.




My 2 cents:

Why don't all your pokemon come out when you're at your house? I mean, it's at your house, you gotta lay back. Be cool, and throw your pokeballs in the air and somehow catch them all when they come back to you. That's how the cool kids do it. Haven't you seen the television show? Gosh, guys, you gotta learn dis.



No, seriously, keeping them as pets is kinda silly.
1.) You're never going to be home. That's like in an MMO where you're always in your starting area.

2.) If they somehow make it to where crap revolves around your house, and you're always near it and can go to it, I'm pretty sure that just having all of your pokemon around the house would be just as good.


To keep a personal pet would be silly. Besides, pokemon are as humanistic as, well, humans. They understand the (insert language) language perfectly, can nearly communicate with humans with simple actions, are quite civilized to make their own cultures in some areas. I mean sure, they are animals, I guess you "could" say but calling them "animals" is like calling a human an "animal."

Technically humans are animals, but we refer to ourselves as humans. Why? Because it's insulting to be called an "animal" because it almost demeans us. I'm pretty sure a pokemon, which has emotions just like a human, would probably feel the same way.

If you've watched the show they aren't treated as pets. They are almost treated as children. The only reason they're treated as pets is because of their form, which usually shows them on all fours, and the food they eat are some kind of pellets. Which, if you watched, people like to eat too.

Now lets look at mister mime. A pokemon, in ashes house, who has hands, feet, and can maneuver as a human. He's treated like a maid correct? I always thought of it more like a child doing his chores. The reason he looks so "humanistic" is because of his anatomy. Because he is shaped like a human your mind registers him being treated as one, I would assume. This is not the case.

Watching the show people say how the pokemon they have are like a child to them. Sure some pet owners are like that, but in this show it's more like your family.




Besides. You can only have 6 pokemon at a time. The reason ash has some at home is because his mom is there, and technically they're hers. I would assume that at least.

If you could have pets you could have infinite at your house. Which means if someone pokemon dueled you at your house you'd GANK THEM WITH HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS OF POKEMON.
BIDOOFS. BIDOOFS EVERYWHERE.


Wow, for some reason I sound slightly butthurt. Huh. Wow I didn't know I'd turn that into a rant.

Well I also agree that combination, and follow up moves, might be a little overpowered. Then again, in my opinion, that's only if you make it incorrectly.

I'm pretty sure there's some kind of way it can be put in that won't make it OP, but that would require a bit of thinking. Maybe even reworking, and that sounds pretty tedious.
Not to mention you'd have to think about how every pokemon fights, and how every pokemons move could combine with another move which is like adding a whole other move-set with every pokemon.

Still, though, I thought it'd be a cool concept. It'd make you feel like you're more in the world of pokemon.  Because I know, if I was a trainer, I'd do crap people never even thought of. This being one of them.

Not to mention this would really add a "unique" factor into each pokemon. Which would be a nice touch imo.







Also: I kinda like what FrenchFry said.
How depending on the battle wound it would up one, and down one, stat. Almost like a nature somewhat.
It'd make sense, and I'm all for making sense.

Sense. Cents. Change...Real change.

Battle scarred pokemon. It's pretty basic.
I'm not sure how it would work. Perhaps you could only catch them that way, but then again what's to say your pokemon couldn't get battle scarred battling with you.


However, I shall still say the idea.
Battle scarred pokemon would be kind of like shiny pokemon, but instead be battle scarred.
I mean it wouldn't be much. It'd be like a cut up, badass, Onyx where his rocks are chipped and cut from previous fights.

There's also be like the Marowak face having a huge gash, and his bone club being slightly chipped.

Although I wouldn't want this to all pokemon, probably the more fighter/agressive ones, but then again at the same time it would mean you'd have to create them as well.
Oh well I just thought I'd throw this idea out there.

Fusion attacks:

I have no clue how this would work. Yet I could see moves like

Agility + Double team = This would lead to your pokemon moving so fast to where, literally, he'd be a damn blur.

Quick attack + Psycho cut = Holy poop-super fast-psycho cut anyone?

Quick attack + Double team + Night slash + Psycho cut = Ahem.....I do believe I'm everywhere hitting you.

But no, seriously, I could seriously see moves being combined from your own pokemon. Nothing like flame thrower and flame wheel, because that doesn't make sense. Something more like

Bounce + Fire punch = Meteor punch?

I mean basic stuff that, when used in conjunction, could make some deadly stuff. Obviously not all moves can combine, and I have no clue how it'd work. I just thought I'd suggest it.

This also reminds me of another idea: Follow up attacks.

Like doing firepunch into flame thrower.
I mean if you just decked a pokemon in the face, and he's right next to you since your fist is indeed attached to your body, who's to say you can't blast him away right there? Why wait?
This would implement a more realistic, and more versatile, field into which trainers could fight.


I'm pretty sure no one is going to like either of those ideas, because it breaks away from the reality of previous games, but I kind of like the idea if the mmo was less "turn based" and more the show. Where they had a guy get his water and fire type and cause a tornado of destruction. Granted, that move didn't make sense because of the fact it's water against fire which would just cause steam, but still it shows that it is possible, and I believe if done right it could be epic.


Ignore it if you wish. I'm just tossing out my 2 cents.

Ok this one is standard.
Think about it: "Pikachu forgot tackle"
What the f.... You forgot tackle?
You, seriously, forgot how to run into a pokemon and hit it with your body with no natural abilities added.

See "I forgot how to sit" from family guy for more deails.
But no, seriously, should some moves always be with you, and unable to be forgotten? I mean the ones that are basic like slam, and tackle, and headbutt. Not moves like zen-headbutt, of course, because that move is more then basic. Yet attacks that take no skill, take no element, take nothing but you jumping on the enemy with nothing special added should be always there.

You can say "What's the point of it" and all I can say is "It makes more sense." seeing how forgetting how to tackle is like forgetting how to run.
