poll :im getting ss because of lugia!
in USA this game comes out march 14
japan its out
everywhere else?
of course alot of info about these games is out already
1)the poke-walker feature
a.in game poke-walker you insert your Pokemon and they walk with you throughout the game picking up items and leveling up (slowly) as far as i know you can put any Pokemon in it at any time
b.actual toy
in every copy of Pokemon heartgold and soulsilver comes a poke-walker toy that you attach to your belt (or whatever)and you can transfer 3 Pokemon at a time every step you take in real life count as a step in the poke-walker your Pokemon can still collect items and you can choose like 5 or more places for your Pokemon to walk and your Pokemon gradually level up with this to you can also lose some lb....
2)UPDATE:legendarys(in ss ho-oh is lower then lugia and ubtained later and vice-virsa)

in heartgold:ho-oh,lugia,kyogre,latios

one event in the game is pikachu colored pichu from jan. 30 to feb.14 at game stop
take your ENGLISH copy of pearl,diamond or platnium (with DS or DSi) to game stop
to recieve this pichu AND if you trade it to soulsilver and heartgold and take it to ilex forest then you will meet another pichu spiky eared pichu

as i was saying the pichus then have a race (or something like that)then i think you battle it and can catch it.
4)improved graphics
this game definitely has improved graphics like leaves on the ground etc.
5)figurines
if you pre order the game you get figurines of ho-oh or lugia
6)arceus
this is a big deal! if you have arceus in d./p./pl. and trade to hgss you meet Cynthia at some point
and she says that arceus is the key to life or somthing and you can choose between lv. 1 giratina,dialga or palkia.
7)extras
this game will include kanto and jhoto
8)extra legendarys!
SoulSilver/HeartGold will include many of the Pokemon previously only available through the GBA games, like legendaries Groudon and Kyogre. So newcomers to the series, and players that only own a DSi will be able to catch 'em all. Pal Park will also be in the new games so you can transfer your old pokemon over
9)touch screen
the game uses the touch screen a lot more In addition to the Pokeathlon games, the bag and PC boxes are now controlled with the touch screen. For the first time ever players can drag and drop Pokemon in the PC The touch screen acts as the main menu Players can turn the running shoes on or off instead of holding the B button. There are also two key item slots now, controlled with the touch screen. I can tap my bike and ride over to a lake then just tap my fishing rod instead of going into my bag

its simple really events are just places people with specificic pokemon games can get hard to get pokemon anyways this is how you do it
step 1) mystery gift
okay walk into game stop (also make sure you have the pokedex)make sure you dont have two wonder cards from previous events turn on the game and select mystery gift from the menu if this is your first time a message will tell you its detected something select recieve gift go to get via wireless chosse yes.
step 2)after wireless distribution
then make sure you only have five pokemon in your party and go to the pokemart you should see a man in green and he will give you the pokemon now check your party and it should be there
dont forget to save and enjoy :o :o

i'm super excited for this! ;D silver was the first pokemon game i played, and i think the jhoto region was my favorite. ^_^ i've been hoping for a remake since FR/LG came out.

finally, they r bringing back some of the old Pokemon on the DS. But i heard that different Pokemon appear in each. I heard you get a pokemon following u, which is cool as. I like lugia but i have a shiny lugia in pokeon platinum so i will be getting heart gold. :-\

Seeing G/S/C as my personal favorite games and probably the best in the series for alot of people, HG/SS might just be the best games ever conceived in the series :3
And the soundtrack is just plain amazing in an otherworldish way.

Edit:It sounds kinda cool to me cause it says you can train capture and gain new items with this thing too. wat do ya'll think?

yeah its called a poke walker ehen you walk it counts your steps and gradualy levels up your pokemon tranfered from heart gold and soul silver and when you get home you can transfer back.

I will be purchasing neither. No DS. Plus, whats the point? PU will be better than both.

i have found no evidence to support the claim that yellow is being remade by nintendo (or game freak). there is however a guy who is making (made?) a port of fr/lg and modded it to be a new game called lightning yellow

For your information, you can get both Ho-oh and Lugia in both games. It's just that they'll be of different levels. (SS: Lugia lower than Ho-oh, HG: Ho-oh lower than Lugia) and the other 'Flying legendary' is obtained much later in the game.
SS exclusive legendary: Latias, Groudon.
HG exclusive legendary: Latios, Kyogre.

I find it like a little 'opposite' like in Soul Silver, the colour can be said to be 'blue' and you get Latias and Groundon, which are red, and in Heart Gold, where most are red, you get Latios and Kyogre... :D

In what way? What pokemon are in it? Gold and Silver were second gen, of course they will be in it.
If you mean the region of Johto, then no, its an entire new region in Pokemon-Universe.

No need to go crazy about it. And I personaly think their pretty cool. I've watched vids on youtube and they are two of the best games in the series so far. :P The pokewalker is also a pretty good thing too. It makes it so you can still train your pokemon, but also helps you to get off your butt and stay fairly healthy too. 8)

On the Japanese version I guess. The US or EU events usually occur much later. The Shaymin and Darkrai event only happened last month (or two months ago) If I remember well.

Yeah, the best follower is Magikarp! It flops around on its side, makes me laugh.
Also, I've almost beaten the game already :)
I caught Lugia and am at Victory Road, which is always super annoying... Right now I have to train, but the Elite Four has weak Pokemon

I wouldn't say that I've beaten it, but I just beat the Elite Four!
The actual Elite 4 were super easy, but Lance was super annoying >:(

Just use revives and hyper potions. Use lugia on the Dragonites, rock on Charizard and Aerodactyl, and electric on the Gyardos. That's what I did, and it worked. By the way, when I beat the Elite four, my Pokemon, except for Lugia, were Lv. 40

I finished the games ages ago, both ss and hg. I only spent a day's worth on both of 'em. Got the 3 legendary dogs, lugia, ho-oh, mew and mewtwo and all 3 starter pokemon + charmander up to lv 100's. I thought this game would be more exciting and really long, it was kinda a dis-apointment. Should have not been so excited, maybe then it would have been more exciting. All that is left to do is transfer all pokemon from platinum to ss, i like soul silver more. My platinum has all pokemon and they are all lv 100's. I even have a shiny lugia and celebi on platinum.
Soulsilver and Heartgold were a dis-apointment but i still think they are the best out of the pokemon games.

Did you beat Red yet? He is the hardest trainer, if you beat him, then you have comepletely beaten the game(s)

there is no way you got them all to 100 in a day and you can only get one starter from each region.
it took me like three weeks the longest DS game i have ever played.

On both games i spent 24 hrs on each, i have versed ash 2 times on ss and ash once on hg. I have the proper games but i used my other ds to transfer the starters from hg to ss then restarted hg. And i transferred pokemon from my platinum, which is on a ttds. I only have two cheats on my ttds platinum and that is extra experience and unlimited master balls, i transferred pokemon from platinum at lv70 with a master ball once i received the first lot of badges. Once i finished off the elite four with my 6 lv70 they were pretty much at lv100. And once i had gained all badges and again finished off the elite four again, i started transferring lv100 pokemon to my ss and hg.
I then chose my favorite pokemon and versed ash, my pokemon were rapidash, blastoise, torterra, mewtwo, snorlax, and luxray.

For some reason my sudowoodo pwned lance without a second look. It was allmost weird how easy it was. I used ampharos on gyarados though

If you want a different series (hell completely different game alltogether), try out the mystery dungeon ones. I thought they were gonna be crap but I played my friend's one for a while and it's pretty fun.

Also Rumble is a good choice.
I love MD myself good story with good gameplay and other things I found my version of Sky and am still playing my old file.

in regards to the actual game of soul silver, i was kinda fearing the worse due to the last few games (diamond and pearl), but this game is actually a lot better than all the other pokemon games i've played, including the original silver and gold games. gamefreak really outdid themselves on this remake. i really suggest that anyone who has a ds (which if you don't have any of the new games and are on this forum, posting things, i don't understand how you could do that)
get this game. i personally loved the silver game better, but they're essentially the same game since you can get both ho-oh and lugia.

Anyway, I've beaten my Soul Silver game (except for Red) and I am now working on getting a great pvp team ready. So far, I think I'm going with a Dusclops for a tank, Togekiss for a Sweeper, and maybe an Umbreon?
I don't know, but I really want a good team.

Ash is not Red. Red is a beastly trainer who defeated and disbanded team rocket, got all the badges, and beat Blue and became pokemon league champion. He then retired to Mount Silver where he made is pokemon stronger.
Ash is a poon who doesnt evolve his pokemon and returns them all to the wild eventually

i despise ash he sucks at training his pokemon and refuses to train his pokemon to final evos then if he does he releases them
