Post by: JHShadon on January 21, 2010, 02:47:08 AM
Will there be a Jirachi on some island who can grant one wish like
1.5 Masterballs
2.$1000000
3.A clone of a legendary pokemon that is weaker than the normal one
4.10 Rare Candies

It's not a bad idea. So maybe. Not the legendaries though.

They would be weaker than the normal versions and they would have a total base stat count of 550 or something

I like the idea, maybe a quest could be based around it instead of randomly finding a Jirachi lying around. However, personally I think those rewards are a bit too much. Maybe less money and definatley no more than 1 masterball. Also I don't know many people who really use rare candies, as your pokemon will be stronger if you level them up normally. Maybe you could get experience for your character level instead?

I was looking at this topic and the other post JHShadon made about the same subject. (shame on you) and was thinking.

If, and only if, this Jirachi figure should appear ingame, a way to do so would be to place an "unknown" amount of spawning locations region wide and let one, only one, trainer get to speak to Jirachi.

The reward for this luck, should be nothing more than an egg.
To add some more randomness,  inside the egg it could be any pokemon catchable ingame (lvl 1). Shiny perhaps.

After the trainer have spoken to Jirachi and claimed his/hers egg (open party spot needed), Jirachi should disappear and be set on a longer dayish respawn cooldown to prevent it for becomming a common case.

The whole point of Jirachi is that it grants wishes, right? You should be able to choose what you wish for, or it isn't a wish, it's just a gift.

True.
But I am not in for any of the 4 possibilities at all.

If any could find 2 or 3 good counterparts, I'll be glad :)

The 4 possibilities are just examples, they can be anything. It can even be random, say we have  ~20 wishes where 4 are chosen from (random).

How about
1. Clothing (random)
2. a random shiny pokemon
3. stuff for guild castle?
4. Ban a  player in-game for 1 day. They would know it was you who banned.

Point number 4 is just hilarious :-X. As player, you can't ban someone from the game.. That's just doesn't make any sense.  ::)

How about those wishes:
- some more prize money (like a pokerus for money except that it cannot be 'frozen' into boxes) for the following x days
- an enhanced catching rate at balls (+1% as example)
- change your player's name (I don't know if that would be possible any other way...:/)
- rate of encountering a rare pokemon is slightly increased (here also, I don't know how you'll make the wild encounter rates)
- or temporary pokerus itself, according to the new system of training that you'll be implementing in the game.

Nope, this will not be possible. Once you've chosen a name for your character, it'll stay with it.

I'm still not satisfied with this whole Jirachi thing; it wasn't in Blue, so don't really know what it is except it has something to do with wishes. Someone inform me and try make me happy.

Jirachi is a pokemon granting wish, and can grant only one wish. However, he lets you choose which wish.

That feature was introduced first in the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue and Red Rescue Team and the wishes were:
- something good (which was a random pokemon that you haven't befriended will ask you if you want to recruit it)
- lots of cash (total was around 10k I think, but the things that you buy in the game were expensive)
- a friend area that you didn't have yet
- power (items like proteins, iron, etc and life seed (boosts max HP) and other new items from the game)

Those however, cannot be introduced in PU for the game is different.

Sorry, I'm out of ideas right now...

Ahh so it's not a feature which was in the "original" series. Figures why I didn't knew it.
