Title: Honey pokemon
Post by: Draagn on February 05, 2010, 02:31:16 PM
I didnt create this idea its from diamond and pearl I am just curios if we can catch pokemon with honey in this game. For those that dont know what I am talking about look below.

Honey Pokemon
---------------------
Ever notice those brown trees that are mixed in with all the green ones? Well
those trees have the ability to attract certain Pokemon! How would one go
about doing such a thing, you might ask. It's quite simple. After you rescue
the old man who is being hassled by the two Galactic Grunts in Florama Town,
he will start selling you Honey. If you go up to any brown tree and press A on
is, it will ask you if you wish to spread Honey on the tree. Once you've spread
Honey on a tree, wait about 12 hours and come back. The tree will be shaking,
and when you press A on it you will encounter a Pokemon! However, if you wait
more than 24 hours after spreading the Honey, the Pokemon will be gone. A lot
of the time the Pokemon you encounter will be common, but there are some unique
Pokemon that can only be found on brown trees. These Pokemon are listed below.

/-----------------\
Honey Pokemon
-----------------
#190  Aipom
#214  Heracross
#412  Burmy
#415  Combee
#420  Cherubi
#446  Munchlax
\-----------------/

It could be like you can put honey on the tree but only you can fight the pokemon so people don't steal your kill. or you can have it where a tree can only have honey on it 1 at a time so people cant re honey you're tree. I don't know exactly, how to get it working in an MMO I just want to get the train of thought rolling so I will leave it to the professionals to decide.

Ah, great use of words there. As for the honey Pokemon thing, and I'll be honest...I thought it was a really stupid idea in-game. Instead of cutting and pasting, how about coming up with some alternative ways to make Honey Pokemon fun? As is, it doesn't even really add a new dimension to the game.

Haha. What about you use honey around a certain grass or area(possibly an event)

I wonder how that will work in an MMO... or perhaps, if you get a house or apartment, you can plant your own seed in the garden and use the honey tree from there. Since only you and the people you know will be able to enter your house, this would less of a problem.

anybody remember where this idea originated? back in gold/silver i think they had a version of this were you just shook certain trees to the same effect, but if the pokemon was going to appear it did it then and there instead of making you wait several hours

if this was going to be put in game, this is the more applicable way to go

It is said in the first post spirit, it's from DPPt, it's very recent, and is found only there.

And, yes, the move is headbutt in GSC and in HGSS, I confirm.

i don't like the idea i would rather just be able to catch all pokemon in no certain way because i love heracross so the tree idea would just make it twice as hard to catch him/her.

Actually, I found Munchlax to be the worst to obtain. I gave up and migrated a Snorlax from Leaf Green and breeded it to get the Munchlax entry in my pokedex.
