Anyone who wants to learn anything related to Pokemon sprite editing can come here. If any teachers want to teach, they can do so. But you need to show that you have skill to teach a certain aspect.. I for example can do almost all categories of Pokemon spriting. Only 2 students at a time!
Some examples are:
- Fusions (splicing)
- Advanced Fusions
- Recolours
- Advanced Recolours
- Infernoes (pillow shades [glowies])
- Re - Element
- Pokeballs
- Eggs
- Devamps
- Revamps
- Disguises
- Trainers
PS. Before you get to the advanced skills, you must pass the basics.

That was just something I did when I was bored. I want to learn everything that you can teach.

This is how to recolour (basic). For the harder parts, just zoom in ;). 5 min, and you know how to do it.

Basic indeed. Trainerx, umadbro?
I'll start with splices for Mr._Rex.
Eg. I'll tell you to fuse Squirtle and Pikachu. (Always the easiest)
So you get them, put 'em on paint or whatever program you use, and choose the base sprite. Say it's Pikachu. So you recolour Pikachu with Squirtle's colours. (http://i53.tinypic.com/1z36wew.jpg) Then, start with the fuse. Search for something they have in common. A tail.. and.. that's it. You could also add the shell to Pikachu's body. Start with the tail. Take off Pikachu's tail with free-form select, and delete. Move Squirtle's tail near it, and put Pikachu on it. Now it's a whole sprite. Now start with the shell. Chop Squirtles arms and legs off, so the shell becomes easier to move. Then temporarily move Pikachus arms (move em somewhere). Select the shell and put it where it belongs. Don't forget the back part! You may need to move Pikachus Squirt-tail to put it on. You also might need to change Pikachus right arm if it doesn't look right. (http://i53.tinypic.com/2ykcsjs.jpg) So now you're basically done. Get rid of the Squirtle head and zoom out.

That's pretty good, but you need to recolour Charizard as Fearow. Also, you could've put Fearows wings on Charizard instead of leaving his ones on, since it's something they have in common. And you could've just replaced Charizards face with Fearows face, and his feet aswell. Fix it up, tomorrow I'll give you a really fun one :)

I was serious. You can just start with splicing and recoloring, and simpler stuff like that. That's pretty good Mr Rex. On the right side of Charizard's stomach, there's a few black pixels that shouldn't be there.

Go to Tinypic.com. Upload the picture. You'll see four codes. Copy the second one and paste it in your post.

Go into paint. Paste the image, and then zoom in all the way. Use the selector thing and make a box around the whole sprite. Then right click and click crop. Everything outside of the box will be gone. Then upload it to Tinypic again and copy and paste the second image code in your next post.

You need to change the colors to match either Espeon or Shellos. It looks weird with the sudden change in colors. You could also make it a different Pokemon's colors. Also, you may want to smooth up the edges by adding/deleting pixels.

It's better, although some of the edges could use some fixing. Also, the horn and the ears on the head kind of annoys me. Use one or the other (Preferably the ears.)

eddiedelta, okie. Let's start with.. eggs. They're very easy 'cause all you need to do is recolour the egg as the pokemon, and add main features as in tails or ears. Do a Pikachu egg, it's very easy.

Sorry to post in your thread monzta, but Eddie. The egg has wings. It will hatch into charmander who does not have wings. Base the egg off him, or at least the full line.
Same with the others.
Would you guys agree? Or are you basing them off the actual Pokemon, like Charizard. Not the full line.

i have no idea i just put the wings on because monzta said to put on wings and tails and other features so thats what i did i think he wants it off the main pokemon even though a normal charizard egg would hatch into charmander so yeah

Something like you take a piece of paper having the form of an egg on the picture of a charizard, on the latter's belly. Then, you trace the outline of the egg paper on the belly, you remove the eggpaper and then cut the shape of the egg out of the picture of the charizard.

I told you already, make one which you will be satisfied. Pick out either random pokemon, or your favourite pokemon, besides the ones you already used for splicing.

Don't you still have the original pistol sprite? You can just get rid of the one's on Porygon's body, edit both of the sprites, and put them on Porygon's body.

Sort of like in the direction of Swampert hands in your sig... but it's okay, you just need more practice.
When I asked you to do that, what I really expected is that you change the guns themselves by adding a perspective so that it appears to 'jump out of the page' and give a more 3D style. Keep trying (not on this one XD, but at your other works). Remember, practice makes perfect.

i dont get it because the pokemon egg sprite doesent fit the shape of the actual charizard belly

no i took the charizard pokemon sprite from the internet (same one evry time0) and the egg sprite then made the charizard egg sprite as png not jpeg it was never jpeg when i made it in the first place so why is my computer creating the extra pixels?

I'm saying, it's like this Meganium comes from an older version of Pokemon, like in Pokemon Gold/Silver.
I forgot the term, but taking an old sprite and colouring it using the colours the recent games use is called revamp. Maybe the opposite is devamp? I don't know

Lol no, I meant that the colouring style, appeared to come from an old sprite, where the colours were not very well defined, especially with the random pixels and colours not too well defined. This sprite could have come from Gold/Silver and fit in that game, but not in the versions which later came out.
Compare the Meganium from Platinum and Gold/Silver, there is a visible difference in quality. That's what I'm pointing to.

how do i get rid of te extra pixels on the charizard egg sprite (the ones of of the sprite itself) because vene though i save it to png it stll looks like that but for some reason it looks nice and neat before i post it(it is saved and it is neat but when i post it it is messy)

for starters save it in png and maybe you should have looked at mr pokemons scizor blaziken and mine too and the head is awkward so is the feet and arms

I used the scizor body+ the legs make it look more bug like in this sprite(Correction: I know see what you mean about the legs. I may have been a little high...), I'll take you up on that png though.

i dont use transparent backrounds because then you might not see some colors on certain pokemon i think

The eyes make it look weird, and some of the shading looks like it's in the wrong places. That part of it's head near the eye that's jutting out looks weird, and the nose isn't the same nose from the Blastoise splice, and it's not in the right spot. Also, the bottom leaves look weird. Frenchfry told me to do this splice a while ago, and I rotated the top right leaf, edited it, and put it on the top left, and top right. Then I took one of the bottom wings(I don't remember which one) and flipped it, edited it, and put it on the sprite.

Hey noy bad for a fusion ~ Although is mainly Copy+paste work.
Also keep the darkbrown outlines in mind, they still have torterra's colours.

You can also give someone CONSTRUCTIVE critics. Help them improve, all I've seen you doing in the past three days that I joined this community is giving negative crictic on almost everything.
Like eddie is working now on the sprites, is fine. I once also started off like that. Of course it could be more impressive. But we are humans, if anybody did something perfect in once it would be a miracle.
Here's an example for my improvement on making trainer sprites completely from scratch:

At this sprite it was my first attempt to sprite a human. By that time I wasn't really impressive with drawing humans. And she does look a little odd..

Even I needed training to become this good at spriting, just to say. I couldn't become this good If there weren't people who gave constructive critics. Unlike SOMEONE who only says meh and is not telling what's wrong about the artwork.

Well all he did was copy and paste and change the colour im not going to give him false hope and say it's brillaint plus declan can't tell me what not so say why don't you stop saying chanseytard every once and a while.
wire i did not mostly copy and paste ok i had to resize,erase extra pixels,recolour (which you have to get the right color with the other color),and make sure evrything was in place and saying stuff like meh isnt a good rating its just a word made up by computer nerds i think.

There are tutorials on the forum that you can look into, and tutorials over the net. I suggest you have a look at them, and when you have done that, you come back on here to post what you have tried to do. It's where other people will give you further advice. :)

I was in a very bad mood yesterday, and I just got really pissed. I don't usually act like that, and it won't happen again. Although, I wanted to point out that the argument didn't start the argument with the Slaking thing(I've been in a bad mood lately, because of all the stuff happening in my life right now.). This arguments started in Yukimenoko's thread, although I didn't mean for it to become such a big argument. When I posted that comment, it wasn't meant to start an argument, but I was in a bad mood that day, and I swear a lot when I'm in a bad mood.
