Remember Dark Soul's thread about the best videogame ever? Well, I'm making one about the best bands ever. Request bands to be in the poll, and I'll put them up there.
You'll have a week to tell me which bands to put on the poll. Then I'll draw two random names from a hat, and everyone can vote for the band that they think is better. I'm not sure on how long the voting will last for each two bands, so I still have to figure that out.

I've only heard one of U2's songs, and I don't even remember it. I didn't feel like thinking of every great band I know anyway, because that could have taken forever. Did you even read the whole original post? I said that you can request bands. If you're going say something like I'm an idiot for not having a certain band up there, then you can STFU and GTFO of this thread. And I'm talking to everyone here, not just Wire.
@Rex: I think I've heard one of Godsmack's songs, but I don't remember if that was them. Can you give me a link to one of their songs?

Im assuming your doing some sort of tournament bracket right? Otherwise your going to end up with 50 bands with 1 vote each.

Too many great bands, although I like Mr. Dark's choice. Doors are sick! Lost my virginity to the Doors! Also, I know your favorite band is totally subjective and up to personal taste, but half the bands listed shouldn't have even been mentioned. Nickelback? My chemical Romance? The band for sonic adventures? Seriously?
EDIT: Also, mentioning Radiohead. Really surprised they haven't been mentioned yet.

They're there because people requested them. I don't even know some of them. I'm just putting bands up there as they're requested.
EDIT: Tomorrow will be the last day to request a band to be put up. After tomorrow, the voting will start. I'm going to do this like a tournament. To decide which two will be voted for, I'm randomly picking two songs for the first round. The winners of each round will go on to the next round until we have one band left.

Queen (changed rock in a way that has never again been done)

In my case, I've heard many songs from most of, if not all of these bands.
I just prefer Flyleaf due to my taste for female fronted bands.
Not everyone will agree of course, bias is involved

I go for Foo Fighters this round. I like both though.
