Title: Become a Balance Tester!
Post by: Level5Pidgey on May 24, 2011, 10:33:22 AM
HELP US TEST!!

Okay guys!
I've been teasing at this a while now, we are going to be letting 10 PU members to help us test!
As you saw recently, the PU team has implemented 34% of the fully evolved Pokemon in the game - this means that testing is becoming quite a handful for us, as the number of permutations is astounding. As we usually try to focus on the Pokemon that we most recently implement - it becomes hard to tell if a team combining Swampert and Dragonite is fun, or a team with Volcarona and Pidgeot is overpowered.

So as stated, we're bringing 10 of you in.
You will be expected to battle against members of the team and other testers - but most importantly, report on any balance issues you find.
Report a Pokemon if it seems too strong, or too weak.
Explore the Pokemon as much as you can - we might have overlooked combos that Liepard can pull off, we want you to find them and make sure they're not overpowered.

Now, here's where I'd say "But most of all! Have fun!"
But, really... we need you to be responsible and reliable when reporting balance issues.
So,
1. Report Balance issues.
2. HAVE FUN!
3. Kick Shadowfred's butt for me.

And as an extra bonus,
If you do your job well, you may be let into the PU Beta when we get close to release!

So how do I apply?
Fill out this form:

Code: [Select]
Name:
Age:

Favourite Pokemon:
How much competitive battling experience do you have?
How much do you know of each Pokemon?
Do you know names and types? Cool! But it'd be better if you knew their movepool and competitive sets.
How's your maths?
Bet you're wishing you passed that last exam.

Why do you think you would be useful when testing the PU metagame?
Why do you think we should pick you?
What changes do you think should be made to the current metagame?
Do you think there are big balance concerns in standard Pokemon? Do you hate Stealth Rock? Tell us here!

Don't let the little quiz scare you.
It'll still be a blast.

Favourite Pokemon:  Battle-wise: Spiritomb. Overall: Ninetales.
How much competitive battling experience do you have? Not very much, almost none.
How much do you know of each Pokemon? I'm not that experienced with Gen5 Pokes, but am extremely familiar with all others and their types and some of their main moves.
Do you know names and types? Cool! But it'd be better if you knew their movepool and competitive sets.
How's your maths? It's pretty good, but I second the below.
Bet you're wishing you passed that last exam.

Why do you think you would be useful when testing the PU metagame? I think i'd be useful because I won't just do it "for fun", I could provide some good critics when it comes to srs buisness like this. I've been a member for quite a long time, and the majority know i'm not one of those stupid, immature people.
What changes do you think should be made to the current metagame?I hate how people always go for the OU Pokemon while battling (such as Scizor or Dragonite), and I think those tiers need to be wiped out by balancing them (which is what you guys are kind of trying to do anyway) so we'd get battles with all types of Pokemon with different strategies.
Do you think there are big balance concerns in standard Pokemon? Do you hate Stealth Rock? Tell us here!
I hate Giga Drain and Spores in standard battles, it just wastes time when your pokemon are much more powerful :\
Cheers!

Name: -> Magyar, Viktor (Genbor)

Age: -> 18

Favourite Pokemon: -> Nidoking

How much competitive battling experience do you have? -> I have done my share of battling on the Pokemon Online simulator, and on the old cable connect option

How much do you know of each Pokemon? -> To be completely honest... I only know Generation 1 and 2, but I'm sure I can do some research on the rest.
Do you know names and types? Cool! But it'd be better if you knew their movepool and competitive sets. -> Like I already said, I can do some research on them if that is what's asked of me.

How's your maths? -> Neutral; Algebra shouldn't be too troublesome ( I hate Geometry though...)
Bet you're wishing you passed that last exam. -> You got me there :)

Why do you think you would be useful when testing the PU metagame? -> I wan't to contribute something to the community; I might not be the most active, but what is required of me I will do it as best as I can.
Why do you think we should pick you? -> I don't. I know there are lots of people who have been here before me, and that they might be more suited for the job. Also I'm in my exam period right now, so my free time is limited, BUT: I would like to contribute something to the community, and I would be serious about it (After exams, I practically have unlimited free time)

What changes do you think should be made to the current metagame? -> I don't like how the old generation Pokémon are starting to be pushed into the background by the newer ones. I understand that some of the newer ones might be more exotic, but that doesn't mean they are the only option anymore. I rarely see an old generation Pokémon in fights.
Do you think there are big balance concerns in standard Pokemon? Do you hate Stealth Rock? Tell us here! -> a) The only problem I had with standard Pokémon, was the EV system. Although it represents the way how you train your Pokémon ( just like how you would train your biceps, triceps) and there are different ways, I still found it annoying that I had to spend hours on training a Pokémon that could be used for competitions between players.
b) No, I do not hate Stealth Rock, Since all it comes down to are Tactics. Most people go with Brawn and try to K.O. their opponents in the fewest hits possible, some people like to drain their opponents strength slowly, since they focus more on Defense than Attack. Either way, it is a part of the game to which a player must adapt to.

                                                                 Cheers, Genbor

Bet you're wishing you passed that last exam. *me too

Why do you think you would be useful when testing the PU metagame?
Why do you think we should pick you? Because i kwon very well the pokemon world, i'm a great fun  from i was 13(from 8 ages) , i kwon kind, gender ability and weakness. I can be very usefull for this cause.
What changes do you think should be made to the current metagame?
Do you think there are big balance concerns in standard Pokemon? Do you hate Stealth Rock? Tell us here!
I know mor mmporg i think that the first step is developin' very well the comunication above the player. I belive also is very important updating the database of pokemon  whit each the pokemons of 5 generations with each move and evolution. I think an other important step is developin' the game also pokemon black and withe with the seasons, as well as to change the appearance of Pokémon Deerling Sawsbuck and will allow you to capture Pokémon in certain periods of the year. I think that  stealthrock is a very great attack and  there is different way for disable it.

How much competitive battling experience do you have?
I have some experience with the Pokémon Online simulator, but now I'm almost on PO daily to improve my mono-fighting, so I'm getting lots of experience now.

How much do you know of each Pokemon?
I know most pokémon movesets and stats , and I'm alot on bulbapedia to check improvements for movesets I use. I don't know the movesets or stats of all UU/NU or gen 5 pokémon, but I don't mind to look them up and learn from them.

How's your maths?
Decent enough, I hope. I study sciences and maths (so alot of maths) and I always have around 70%.

Why do you think you would be useful when testing the PU metagame?
Because I want to help the team. I'm a member for some time now, I'm motivated and I can spend alot of time (after my exams, which will start in 2 weeks and end at the first of juli) for balancing.

What changes do you think should be made to the current metagame?
Some types (Poison and bug as examples) should be improved so they can be more competitive. Most UU/NU pokémon from the early generations (blastoise, absol, umbreon,...) just need some balancing with some stats or moves to make them able to be a force in OU. Gamefreak tries to do this (ditto, bidoof,...) but they forget alot of pokémon. I think the removal of stealth rocks was a good idea. It will make PU more diverse, since not every pokémon will have a stealth rock lead like swampert.

How much do you know of each Pokemon?
I can give you the name and type of almost any Pokemon third gen, and back, I also know, (or am capable of looking up), there moves.
How's your math?
I have an A+ in my math class.

Why do you think you would be useful when testing the PU metagame?
I report glitches, I'm knowledgeable of Pokemon, I have alot of free time, and have tons of experience in mmorpgs.

What changes do you think should be made to the current metagame?
I agree with some of the people that posted before, it seem that the late generations are becoming more powerful than the previous generations.

Do you know names and types? I can match up every pokemons name and their type, and I also know movesets of most pokemon.

Why do you think you would be useful when testing the PU metagame?I will report every underpowered and overpowered pokemon. I will be on alot to help with the game.
Why do you think we should pick you? I am a pretty good pokemon player and I would love to help with this game to make it good.
What changes do you think should be made to the current metagame? 1)The new generation pokemons seem like they are getting stronger.
Do you think there are big balance concerns in standard Pokemon? Do you hate Stealth Rock? Some pokemon are overpowered why other are underpowered. It depends how the stealth rocks are used to if i hate them, if they are using like a shedinja with focus sash and its one of the only ways to kill it,it would help, but if they used stealth rocks with roar or whirlwind I would hate it alot.

Why do you think we should pick you? I just want to help perhaps
What changes do you think should be made to the current metagame? I think it good as it is.
Do you think there are big balance concerns in standard Pokemon? Do you hate Stealth Rock?
There is lots of weak pokemon but they trade it off with their rareness. I don't use stealth rock and I don't like people that use them it kinda annoying me. But I don't mind facing someone using stealth rock.

How much do you know of each Pokemon?  Names and types lol. I don't know every single move and stat of every single pokemon, but I get the idea for most of them.
How's your maths?
I'm pretty good at math. That doesn't mean I haven't had my head explode from seeing a big as formula before.

Why do you think you would be useful when testing the PU metagame?
Because I said please?
What changes do you think should be made to the current metagame?
I'm pretty sure stealth rock is a given. Wiping out half the health of a pokemon just because it ENTERS THE BATTLE isn't okay. Aside from that, I think steel could use a bit of nerfing, either with additional weaknesses or with lowered defense. And Blissey, what with its insane amounts of health and all. Also, it strikes me as pointless to have a pokemon like Tropius, who is *okay* in special attack as well as attack, when you could get an Alakazam, who is aweshum in Special Attack, and a Machamp, who is Aweshum in Attack.

How much competitive battling experience do you have? Competitive? A few battles. I play PO from time to time.
How much do you know of each Pokemon?Basic memorisation of typings, secondary effects, abilities, but not as far as IV calculation or movepool memorization. I can point out common competitive sets; ie. Rapid spin Cloyster, Toxic vaporeon, etc
How's your maths? Grade 12 advanced functions and physics.

Why do you think you would be useful when testing the PU metagame?
Active on forums for over a year, active in irc, competitive personality, completionist, tired of the current metagame.
What changes do you think should be made to the current metagame?
Im tired of having battles become a formula. Its no longer about strategising, but memorising plays and responses to your oppnents plays. I want the game to let you play a rogue party, and have a good chance of winning, and rebalancing the pokes is a step in that direction.

How much do you know of each Pokemon?
move pools not so much except basic stuff like squirtle learns water gun and such like bronzor learns gyro ball
i know most type macthups and every Pokemon except Pokemon from Pokemon from black and white

How's your maths?
pretty good i am the so far the best in my class. but i am in 6th grade learning integers for the end of the year stuff. but i am getting into avid (most of you probably don't know what it is) so i will be learning 7th,8th,and i think 9th grade stuff so i am smarts with math.

Why do you think you would be useful when testing the PU metagame?
to suggest some weaknesses and advantages to some Pokemon i guess (or whatever it is with type macthups and stuff)

What changes do you think should be made to the current metagame?
i have know idea i have never played or tested it before(or whatever)

if it is only a certain age and up i would understand that but i wont be on all the time because of school and family stuff(A.K.A at my grandmas where there is no internet or when summer vacation comes and i go to my aunts for most of it and stuff like that)

How much competitive battling experience do you have?
I played PokeLab for a while, then not much after that, but I know of basic strategies, and have experimented with my own, having some success.

How much do you know of each Pokemon?
Like many others, I have a small amount of experience with Gen V Pokemon. However, I know quite a bit about the other generations.

-Do you know names and types? Cool! But it'd be better if you knew their movepool and competitive sets.
In response to this, I do know some of the highly used movesets of some OU Pokemon and a few others

How's your maths?
I'm in 8th grade, and I am taking Geometry (honors). Currently we are working with volume and surface area of solids, which is probably one of the easiest things we've done all year. I know formulas and theorems and all that jazz. Overall, math comes easy to me.

-Bet you're wishing you passed that last exam.
I did, and, not to brag, but I haven't gotten anything lower than an A in any math class so far.

Why do you think you would be useful when testing the PU metagame?
Why do you think we should pick you?
Like I've said before, I have experience in competitive play, and with multiple Pokemon. I wouldn't mind doing some testing, and would love to help with the game.

What changes do you think should be made to the current metagame?
Do you think there are big balance concerns in standard Pokemon?
Ninjask is one of my least favorite Pokemon to come up against. It is predictable, but may be slightly overpowered. The main thing is its ability to outspeed every Pokemon. If its speed were slightly reduced so that some Pokemon could get a first hit on it, I believe it could be balanced out to where it could still be very useful, but not a Pokemon that would be used on nearly every team.

How much competitive battling experience do you have?I have played pokemon ds games with other people either using WiFi or old school cable to connect with someone else. I have also played PO before, so yes I have battled many other players.
How much do you know of each Pokemon? I have have seen almost every episode in the anime and I remember clearly every basic moves of most Pokemon. I know almost all the moves of each of my favorite Pokemon.
Do you know names and types? Cool! But it'd be better if you knew their movepool and competitive sets. I know a lot of the moves of many Pokemon, but also I know witch type of pokemon those moves are most/least effective on.
How's your maths? Grade 8, I have an A in math and even though its not my most favorite subject, its one of my best. I think algebra is pretty easy while geometry on the other hand is complicated.
Bet you're wishing you passed that last exam. My wish was granted. :)

Why do you think you would be useful when testing the PU metagame? Well, I can suggest what I think about a move, if its to over powered or to weak. I can give my opinion about a pokemon, if it has to much HP/ to little.
Why do you think we should pick you? School is almost out and i'm going to have more free time than I used to. I also just want to help out because I want to contribute to the development of the game some how.
What changes do you think should be made to the current metagame? Older generations of Pokemon are being forgotten(except the classic favorites) and people want some new generation Pokemon. There should be a way to keep them balanced or at least given the same appreciation. As people have already said, newer gen. Pokemon seem to be getting stronger than older gen.If a new trainer picks a Tepig as there starter, while another picks a Charmander and they battle, there should be a balance kept between those two same level/type Pokemon or people will just want the new generation Pokemon.
Do you think there are big balance concerns in standard Pokemon? Do you hate Stealth Rock? Tell us here! I don't think there are big balance concerns in Pokemon, maybe some minors. Yes, I do hate stealth rock. It can be very annoying and dangerous especially when its used with certain other moves like roar. There are some pokemon that are clearly overpowered, but if they are already in PU, i'm sure that they have already been noticed and balanced out.

How much competitive battle experience do you have?: other online pokemon MMORPG plus wifi and trading cards since i was a little kid (no im not still a little kid :P).
How much do you know of each pokemon: I know a lot about each pokemon. once again, I have been playing for 10 years now I think. I even know gen 5 because I played through the game about 10 times xD. I know all the names and types and i'm pretty good with movepools.
How's your maths? Straight A's all the time. Easiest subject in my opinion. Oh, and i did pass my last exam... passed with flying colors.
Why do you think you will be useful when testing the PU metagame? Well i do know a lot of things to do with pokemon. Played every game of the series and I still watch the series so i pretty much know how the pokemon should be like. Plus I have the passion for Pokemon and games in general. To be honest, I haven't been active on forums but I do keep an eye out for news so i'm always around and I will respond more if necessary.
What changes do you think should be made to the current meta game? I agree with everyone on this when they say that the older pokemon are being pushed back. I don't hate stealth rock but it may get annoying some times. It's a move for a reason and some people need to learn how to combat it in order to be sucessful.

How much competitive battling experience do you have?: I have played all pokemon games, completed the pokedex on emerald, pearl and am just waiting for the remaining event pokemon on white, completed the elite four too many times and have even entered some wifi tournaments and won some.

How much do you know of each pokemon?: if somebody showed me a pokemon id be able to name it (english name) and say its type. I also know type move sets and type matches.

How's your maths?: Apparently im quite good. Im top set at school and top of the class. Predicted A/A* in my GCSE's.

Why do you think you would be useful when testing the PU metagame?: Well ive seen all different pokemon battle and with different type of pokemon so i should know how powerful they are. I love pokemon games so i wouldn't give up testing for you. Also, as I mentioned, I have had a lot of experience in pokemon battles and collecting.

What changes should be made to the current metgame?: I think that pokemon from the previous generations should be focused on a bit more becase now people only really care about getting 5th generation pokemon and i HATE stealth rock.

Hope I can be a tester :)

i'm bored and i just finished college so i have nothing better to do that sit around and fight with pokemons, heck i'd play that sucky ass PWO all day if the server stayed up long enough, also i pay great attention to details, i tend to use support moves as well, and combine moves as much as possible, like one major imballance in PWO is ratata, yes you heard that right, next time you come across a lvl 4 ratata and you have a lvl 8 starter pokemon you better run, because if you get a tail whip and a tackle directly after you're dead.
What changes do you think should be made to the current metagame?
yeah actually there are a lot of balance issues in standard pokemon games, most of the time you catch a few good battle pokemons the rest are just for keeping or adding to your pokedex. so i hope with this balance project you'll put an end to that.

Favourite Pokemon: I can't say, I love all of em.... but if I had to choose, It would be between ninetails, mightyena, haunter and abra or one of the Evee series
How much competitive battling experience do you have?
I would say I have enough, I have played the Pokemon Soul Silver, platinum, black, pearl and diamond versions.
How much do you know of each Pokemon?
I know most their basic resistance and weaknesses, I can also guess their skills based on their generation and body type.

Do you know names and types? Cool! But it'd be better if you knew their movepool and competitive sets.

How's your maths?
Well, I'm still a learning sprout. I'm taking advanced stage 2 math. (2c.2d) in year 11

Why do you think you would be useful when testing the PU metagame?
Why do you think we should pick you? I've always loved the Pokemon series and I would love to help build an online community for Pokemon lovers like me! I also have a sharp eye for details and come in a package of endless ideas and observations.

What changes do you think should be made to the current metagame?
I've always thought that the Pokemon games did have slight balance issues, especially in Emerald for some reason. The issue where Pokemon get too strong or comparing the exp gain rate to the WildPokemon difficulty also became a problem to me at some point in a few series. These may not be very appropriate, but hearing that you'd liek to improve on the pOkemon state.. I just want to help you in that journey....

How much do you know of each Pokemon? I know nothing what so ever about competative pokemon battling because i stopped playing back in Emerald before the whole online feature came out, i don't even own a DS.
How's your maths? Currently doing Advanced Mathamatics/Engineering studies and Physics at High School

Why do you think you would be useful when testing the PU metagame?
I will represent the clear majority of players who will most likely be coming here to start out just collecting pokemon and later getting into the late game such as battling competativly against other players or just friendly battles with there mates...Also i didn't lie on this application and im Australian, also im quite active in the PU Chatroom when im not busy doing school work.
What changes do you think should be made to the current metagame?
why hydropump kill my fire pokemanz so fast?

How's your maths?

How much competitive battling experience do you have? Little, considering I have had few opportunities for competitve battling.

How much do you know of each Pokemon? Not much, but that's what Bulbapedia is for.. I'm also willing to put in the effort to learn them.

How's your maths? As long as it's just numbers, sharp as a razor. I'm proficient with Algebra as well.

Why do you think you would be useful when testing the PU metagame?
I want to help in any way possible, I figured I may have some hidden potential, so I just have to find it.

What changes do you think should be made to the current metagame?
Some say Dragon-types need to be nerfed, but, I say just their weakness to Ice is their downfall. Beyond that, there are still others that are ridiculously Overpowered as well, Garchomp, Salamence, Wobbuffet.

The Dragons are a stat-issue, so it's fixable. Wobbuffet is the fact that it can learn several moves that are gamebreakers:

Destiny Bond, Counter, Mirror Coat... those are the culprits..

I'd adjust it so that it can only have one of those three in its set moves.

(Note: I have PO now, so I'm going to plenty of experience in that regard.)

How much competitive battling experience do you have?
I've been playing pokemon
- on my gba for 13 years now
- 2 years on pokemonworldonline.

How much do you know of each Pokemon?
- I know all pokemon, evolving lvls, attacks, types... of Kanto,Jotho, Hoën and Sinnoh
Do you know names and types? Cool! But it'd be better if you knew their movepool and competitive sets.

How's your maths?
I like to make combo's with pikachu's thunder wave and victrebel's wrap. Doesn't matter how strong the opponent is, they just can't attack anymore.

Bet you're wishing you passed that last exam.
Yeah, then I got something to do:D

Why do you think you would be useful when testing the PU metagame?

Why do you think we should pick you?
- I know every statistic of more then 600 pokemon by my head.
- I got a lot of experience in pokemonworldonline which was a little bit the same like this.
- I'm very dedicated if i get a task.
- I got a lot of experience with servers(I know what's possible and what not)

What changes do you think should be made to the current metagame?
Do you think there are big balance concerns in standard Pokemon? Do you hate Stealth Rock? Tell us here!
- gaining lvls with pokemon should be much harder
- introducing "fishing lvl" would be awsome(so it takes a lot of time to get rare pokemon by fishing)

How much competitive battling experience do you have? Been Playing Pokemon Online for a while, been using UU pokemon effectively in higher tiers.
How much do you know of each Pokemon? I know their name, typings, and some stats, also can think of some possibly useable sets for many pokemon.
Do you know names and types? Cool! But it'd be better if you knew their movepool and competitive sets.
How's your maths? I'll be taking Algebra II Honors (11th Grade level Math) in 10th Grade, I'm pretty good at math.
Bet you're wishing you passed that last exam.

Why do you think you would be useful when testing the PU metagame? I've been Playing a while, and I know how each pokemon should work.
Why do you think we should pick you? I've been here a while, and I know my Pokemon well.
What changes do you think should be made to the current metagame? I think some pokemon need some nerfing, mainly the gen V ones, most of the rest are underpowered, with few useable ones, many with useable stats have terrible movepools, ones with Movepools that are nice have horrible stats.
Do you think there are big balance concerns in standard Pokemon? Do you hate Stealth Rock? Tell us here! I do think there are big balance concerns with pokemon, Primarily the Gen V ones. Conkeldurr and Hydreigon are two good examples of Pokemon that are largely overpowered. Conkeldurr has Moves to abuse his abilities, Drain Punch, Bullet Punch, and Mach Punch, all with a massive 140 attack stat and Iron Fist, with Huge bulk of 105/95/65, with it's only weak stat being it's Special Defense, but it's still hard to Knock it out, even with super effective Psychic attacks. Hydreigon Has Bulk, Attack, and a Useful moveset of Powerful Stab attacks, both physical and special.

How much competitive battling experience do you have? not a whole lot, but still a good bit. I've been playing since i was a kid, but only recently had the ability to play against other people. Its absolutely a blast.

How much do you know of each Pokemon? a little here, a little there. But I'm always doing research on Smogon and Bulbapedia, along with experience through guess and test experiments.

Do you know names and types? Cool! But it'd be better if you knew their movepool and competitive sets. (I know some of there movepools and stats, but I haven't memorized everything) And I know a little of there competitive sets, but I usually like to try out my own ideas.

How's your maths? Its ok. Its my favorite subject though, So if i don't know something, i can learn it.
Bet you're wishing you passed that last exam.

Why do you think you would be useful when testing the PU metagame?I love to play over Wi-Fi And have some experience in battling other players. I like to win without using Legendaries, and battle with the pokemon I love to use. I'd be able to test often, though not always. (lol I do have a life) And it would give me a chance to gain experience as well, allowing me to be an even better asset.

Why do you think we should pick you? Because I'd enjoy it, and you would have a dedicated tester.

What changes do you think should be made to the current metagame?
Do you think there are big balance concerns in standard Pokemon? Do you hate Stealth Rock? Tell us here! hhhmmmm.....I feel that despite how good it is, Drizzle+Swift Swim shouldn't be banned to uber play. (Though Kyogre is definitely Uber) So if Politoad had its DW ability Drizzle, and Kabutops with Swift Swim was on your team, it shouldn't be Uber. Even Kingdra with Swift Swim.

How much competitive battling experience do you have? Played alot PWO before it got closed by Nintendo. I've also started playing there after it reopened also.
How much do you know of each Pokemon? I know about every attack in the red/blue/green games.
Do you know names and types? I dont know that lot of the later generations.
How's your maths? B+

Why do you think we should pick you? Because I am a really dedicated gamer. And I do not screw you over. I play wow at a competetive stage and am dedicated to whatever i sign up for.

How much competitive battling experience do you have? Almost everyday I play a Pokemon battle against anyone who wants to, doesn't matter if they're halfway around the world! I have also competed in some Pokemon comps.

How much do you know of each Pokemon? I know every single Pokemon of the first 4 generations. Still making my way through the 5th generation, but I got most of them.

Do you know names and types? Cool! But it'd be better if you knew their movepool and competitive sets.

How's your maths? A+(I confess, absolute geek)

Bet you're wishing you passed that last exam.

Why do you think you would be useful when testing the PU metagame? I am very experienced in the Pokemon genre. I know every move (excluding some 5th gen moves) and how stats affect the power of the move. I understand the calculations that affect those moves.

Why do you think we should pick you? I may be young, but I am sure experience with Pokemon and techno stuff. I'd love the opportunity to help out and get this game in it's beta as soon as possible. I am willing to dedicate a lot of my time to this project.

What changes do you think should be made to the current metagame? Mainly balance of power, which I am more than happy to contribute my time to. Other than that, it is a very promising game and can't wait for it to come out.

Do you think there are big balance concerns in standard Pokemon? Do you hate Stealth Rock? Tell us here!

There are a few balance concerns, some major, but can be easily discovered and fixed. I find Stealth Rock annoying when my opponent uses it, but I laugh like the devil when I use it :)

Please consider me. And if not, thats ok, I will keep an eye out for other opportunities to help.

Why do you think you would be useful when testing the PU metagame? I've experienced almost all Main Pokemon games (and played many MMOs). I know how the Pokemons stats affect the Power of the moves as well.

Why do you think we should pick you? I think you guys should pick me because I'm very experienced with Pokemon. I've always liked to play MMOs and stuff in beta just to test out and tell some friends to play which could earn you some more players in the future.

What changes do you think should be made to the current metagame?
Do you think there are big balance concerns in standard Pokemon? Do you hate Stealth Rock? Tell us here!
What? standard series? They should probably add combo moves but with a more selectable choice instead of those 'oath' moves from black and white.

I don't know what else to type so I'm ending it here! I hope you guys pick me!

Competitive-wise, probably Swampert because he can be an awesome tank if you use him right.
How much competitive battling experience do you have?
I'm still kind of new to this, but I'm learning. My knowledge of competitive battling has improved a a lot since I started. I go on PO a lot, and I learn a lot from battling the smarter people on there.
How much do you know of each Pokemon?
I'm not very familiar with the Gen V pokemon, but I do know some of the stats for the first four generations. I know some of their movepools, and I'm learning with competitive sets. I can quickly Google movepools and sets though, so that shouldn't be too much of a problem. However, I'm still getting used to this, so I might have some trouble with figuring out if certain pokemon are overpowered, but I'm actually finding it a little bit easier for me to do that every few days.
Do you know names and types? Cool! But it'd be better if you knew their movepool and competitive sets.
How's your maths?
I'm pretty good with math, and I can do a lot of problems in my head. I don't think I've ever gotten lower than a B+ in math(I'm actually not sure if I've ever gotten a grade as low as a B+).
Bet you're wishing you passed that last exam.
Actually, I did :P
Why do you think you would be useful when testing the PU metagame?
Why do you think we should pick you?
I have more knowledge of competitive battling some of new members who are posting here do(I'm not saying that I'm better than everyone else, or that I know everything about competitive battling, since I'm still kind of new to this), and I don't think that watching the show, or beating the games means that you're good at competitive battling. I also understand that there's a big difference between competitive battling and just beating the Elite Four.
What changes do you think should be made to the current metagame?
There are too many pokemon that aren't used, even though they would have the potential to be good pokemon if there stats and sets were better. There are a lot of overpowered pokemon, and that also needs to change.
Do you think there are big balance concerns in standard Pokemon? Do you hate Stealth Rock? Tell us here!
I don't really like Stealth Rock, and I never run it. It's overpowered though, and it shouldn't be as powerful as it is right now.
