With the moderate success of the Elemental Elites' small tourney, we would like to extend the same experience to the whole community. The Elemental Elites will be hosting a tournament with all guild allowed to enter.
Each guild will be represented by 3 of it's members. Battling will take place on the Pokemon Online battle simulator. Each match will consist of a best 2 of 3 battling style. The winner of the tourney will be featured in an upcomming PU trailer. The finals of the tounrey will also be recoreded and put on the internet as a means to attract new players to PU.
EDIT: Thanks to Level5Pidgey's supports, the winner of the tournament will also have the honnor of becoming a balance tester for the game!
Teams should be set up to follow PU's battling system as close as possible.
Battle Rules:
- Freeze clause, sleep clause, evasion clause, species clause, and self-KO clause must be ON.
- The use of any legendary pokemon is prohibited
- The use of the move Stealth Rocks is prohibited
- OHKO moves are banned
If you are not part of a guild and would like to particapate, you can sign up as a team. You must still bring 2 other people to particapate with you. For those wanting to sign up, please fill out an entry form and PM the form to me. Thanks and we hope this tourney turns out successful! (:

Hey Noah, could we have a team that's made up of some of us that couldn't get in the turny regularly?because well, some of us didn't do as well in the EE turny, but I think we might do well in this turny, or atleast we would have a chance.

I'm gonna be thinking like "Oh man, a Butterfree, better switch out", when... well... it's sort of laughable in normal Pokemon.

Volcarona can easily set up without taking even half of its health of damage. Trust me I know. It can also use morning sun to recover any damage its taking whilst setting up.

Ninetails and Hippodown are only Uber in the monotype tier. They are both OU elsewhere. Since the only "Uber" in PU is legendaries, I would suggest being able to counter Garchomp and Blaziken.

I tend not to use ubers. even though I do run a sand team most of the time most of my pokes are UU or under so not a problem.

Alright, Fox, I'm still waiting on whether or not you're entering. Idealy, if we can get about 7-8 teams we can start. Would I be allowed to switch up the order of my team in between matches? Not rounds. Like could I make Infernape my lead when I normally use Hitmonlee to lead? I use both on my team anyway.

I don't see why not. In the tournament I was in, I had different teams altogether. They were still partly or pure water, of course.

Note that each member of a team is only going to battle once per round. However it will still be a best 2 of 3 style.
E.g.
Team A: Member 1 vs Team B: Member 1-Team B wins
Team A: Member 2 vs Team B: Member 2-Team A wins
Team A: Member 3 vs Team B: Member 3-Team A wins
Team A would in the round and advnace in the tournament.

I've changed the name of the tournament to emphisize on the fact that anyone, guild or not, can join the tourney. With that being said I am going to step up my efforts to advertise this tournament. We need at least 2 more teams for this tournament to run smoothly. If you do not have a team yet and would like to join, you can either ask members from the Fruit Punch guild, ask around the community, or even ask a friend from another forum/real life.

Alright just a little announcement. This tournament is now officially "sponsored" and hosted by Pokemon Universe.
What does this mean?
It means that Pokemon Universe..
- will host the PO Battle server, so everyone is playing with the same rules
- will try to live stream all battles so everyone can spectate the matches and see what's going on
- is going to try to have commentators on each live stream to commentate the battle
- more?
A little thing about the live battle stream. We're currently checking out the possibilities, so we can't give much info on this.
If you know people from other communities who would like to join this tournament, feel free to invite them. Happy playing and let's make this something we can repeat in the future :D

Noah, if it happens that there's an odd number of teams, you may want to just limit the tourney to however many teams it takes to work smoothly, rather than try to make it work with an uneven number. Though with the deadline so close, it may be to late to think about which team gets the boot.

Registration closes in 20 minutes. I feel like we have an even number of teams for the tourney because I think there are a few teams that might not be able to make it. I've made a practice bracket and it looked pretty even so I think we'll be fine.

Yeah you did a good job comming to the finals without our teammates :)
Anyway.. Congratz to Elemental Elites for winning the first Pokemon Universe Community Tournament. We had some great response to this event so we probably be doing this more often, but hopefully more organized ;)
I'd like to thank everyone for participating and making this a great weekend!
P.s. I'm wondering.. who where actually listening to the stream instead of spectating in PO?

Congrats! Next tourney should defs use a balance server :3
It will get rid of some problems like team predicting and me having a big mouth when commentating XD
Also possibly seed the tourney battles such that the best teams meet in the finals - I would argue that EE and PU Balance Team were 2 of the biggest threats, so to knock one out in Round 1 means that the most exciting battles were likely too early. most tournaments attempt to separate the top threats early.
Also teams need to be more ready and timezones need to be sorted out better, so everyone's available when they need to be, but, for a first tourney, that's always the case ^_^
But overall, congrats EE!
We'll have to do this again soon, I had a lot of fun!

I had great fun. Whenever I wasn't commentating I was listening to stream. I must say the 'Most Fun' was commentating with Silver and Gammal. Although me beating Gammal was a close run for that title...
Anyways great job EE and the rest of the people who applied and actually participated. Hope to see another one, and like Pidgey said, on the PU Server.

im like so salty i couldnt participate but still my guild placed first and my teamate worked hard for second im proud of all four of u but u know i cant play on weekends some one should make a weekday tourney next time

I honestly dont know if i would have been able to beat them even with a little bit of experience of fighting them. though I can't say that for sure... Chad and Roloc are both really good players (even better than I am)
